Fire extinguisher tags: Ideogram or overlay, not Veo

The punch-out month has to be true. Veo will invent a date.

A fire-extinguisher inspection tag is a claim about a real check. The hole through JAN, the stamped NEXT, the initials in the box — those are log facts a facility will be asked to defend. Generating a cinematic red can with a model that typesets "inspected" from a vibe is how you ship a forged month. Typeset the month you actually punched. Do not ask a video model to guess it.

The tag is a date, not a scene

This niche is the hang tag on this cylinder, in this cabinet, on this wall. Agent, rating, serial, hose, and the month the inspector punched are SKU and book facts. Contractors get a different page: a crew, a jobsite, an install. This is not that page. This is the tag, and the facility that reprints it. Mixing them is how an OEM still becomes a fake fire.

Do not generate a rescue. Do not generate a talking inspector. Do not generate flames so the can "proves" it works. A constructed person prescribing when to pull a pin is a safety-health presenter you did not hire. Photograph the real cylinder. Then print the true month on that plate.

A wide of a warehouse with six invented cans is not an inspection record. The marshal is not watching your prompt. The marshal is watching the tag.

Ideogram owns a new tag still

If you need a picture of the card itself — punch holes, month ring, serial, company block — that is still generation with accurate type, not a video row. Ideogram V4 is the catalog text-to-image line for that job: 6 credits, posters and labels, the brief is crisp visuals and accurate text rendering. Prompt the month that is in the book. If the log says March, the letters have to say March. A near-miss "MARH" is not a tag.

The still is not the inspection. It is a graphic of a tag you already have on paper. Do not invent a serial. Do not invent a hydrostatic year. Do not invent a company name that is not on the purchase order. Ideogram will letter whatever you type. Type the log.

If the cylinder in the photograph already has a tag, you do not need a new still of a tag. You need overlay. Generating a cousin card and compositing it over a real can is how a true punch-out becomes a second, false one.

Overlay burns the month you wrote

Add a text overlay burns one authored line for the whole clip: top, center, or bottom. "Inspected Mar." "Next: Sep." One string. Your words. It does not transcribe, and it does not listen to a generated mouth inventing a date. That is the point.

If the clip walks a row of cans and the month changes per unit, that is several authored lines with timestamps — timed text overlays — still your strings, still not Veo glyphs. Do not ask the model to read the hang tags. You already read them.

Overlay is not a generate of a fire. Lock the plate first: a photo of the cabinet, a slow hold if you need motion on the wall. Then print. A month burned on a cylinder that does not exist is still a false month. Empty is information. It means you can still see whether the can, the hose, and the cabinet are the ones in the building.

Veo type is a fabricated inspection

Veo 3.1 is native audio, official 4K tier, 4 / 6 / 8 second clips. It will draw a red can and letter a date that looks like an inspection tag. That date is not in your log. Native dialogue will also invent a line about annual service. A constructed inspector on a safety beat is the pattern you do not want on a facility plate. Keep lips out. Keep type out of the generate.

Prompting "close-up of a fire extinguisher tag, current month punched" is how the model picks a month from the average of every tag it has seen. Average is not your book. Average is a date you cannot defend.

The test: if a marshal asked "when was this last punched," could you point at the same month on screen and in the log. If the model chose the month, the clip is not an inspection record. It is a picture of one.

    FAQ

Can I generate the cylinder in Veo and overlay the real month after?

You can overlay a true line on a false can. The can still has to be this cylinder — photograph it. A generated cousin with a correct overlay is still the wrong unit on the wrong wall.

Why Ideogram instead of asking Veo to letter the tag in-frame?

Ideogram V4 is a 6-credit still row built for accurate text on posters and labels. Veo is a short cinematic clip with native audio. It will invent a date and a voice. The punch-out is type you control, not a generate of type.

Do timed overlays replace the hang tag in the photo?

No. Timed overlays are authored beats you typed. If the physical tag is in frame and readable, leave it. Overlay is for a month that is not already true in the pixels, or for a CTA that is not on the card.

Should the inspector appear on camera?

Only if that person is real, named, and actually did the check. A generated face walking a tag is a presenter you did not hire. The job is the month on the can, not a mouth.
