6 apps for Amazon MAIN-safe stills
Photoroom, remove.bg, Pixelcut, Versely, Photoshop, and Canva flatten a real photo onto Amazon MAIN white. Pick by cutout, path, or edit.
Amazon MAIN is a photograph of the unit you ship, on pure white, filling most of the frame. It is not a lifestyle scene. It is not a mockup. It is not a generated cousin of the SKU. Six apps will get a real photo onto that white field. Photoroom is the listing cutout. remove.bg is the dedicated clip. Pixelcut is the phone-and-batch flatten. Versely is the edit pass when the photo already exists and the field is the problem. Photoshop is the clipping path. Canva is the last-mile crop if you already live there. This page is that list. It is not "AI product photography 2026." It is not a motion roundup.
If the file has to be a photograph of the unit you ship, shoot it or cut it out. Inventing the bottle inside a stills model is how a listing shows a SKU you do not have.
What MAIN-safe actually means
Amazon's seller help for product images (G1881, read 20 September 2026) still treats the first image as MAIN. That file is the thumbnail in search. The rules are specific:
- A realistic, professional-quality image of the real scale, quantity, and color.
- Product at about 85 percent of the frame, entire item inside, no cut-off edges.
- One unit (plus included accessories), shown once, not front-and-back in the same frame.
- Pure white background, RGB 255, 255, 255.
- No text, logos, borders, color blocks, watermarks, or extra graphics.
- No packaging unless the pack is the product (a carrying case, a gift basket).
- No mannequin of any kind, including clear, flesh-toned, or hanger.
- Adult-size clothing on a standing model. Accessories and multipacks flat, without a model.
Clothing has a tighter page (G200498950, read 20 September 2026): MAIN must be photographed on a model except for children's or baby undergarments, leotards, swimwear, and similar form-fitting items, which must sit flat with no model. Sketches, drawings, and graphical representations are prohibited. Only photos are allowed. A selfie, a kneeling pose, or a visible hanger fails MAIN.
Zoom wants pixels. Independent 2026 reads of the same help set (SellHound; SNARC, 19 March 2026) still cite at least 1,000 pixels on the longest side, with 1,600 or 2,000 as the working target so zoom turns on. JPEG is the usual upload. Eyedropper the field. Off-white (250, 250, 250) is not MAIN white.
MAIN is a still. A clip belongs in Gallery, A+, a Reel, or an ad. Do not replace the hero with a generated orbit and call it compliance.
The six apps
1. Photoroom. Start here if the still is a phone photo on a dirty table. Core tools (background remover, retouch, Product Fixer, preset shadows, fill, expand, enhancer) are included on every paid plan with no credit cost, inside fair use. Photoroom's pricing page (read 20 September 2026) lists Pro at 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 exports a month. Max is 25,000 credits and 3,000 exports. Ultra is 75,000 and 10,000. Video Generator is not on Pro. Shopify Integration starts at Max. Independent reads of the US dollar table (PulseSignal, 14 September 2026; AI Media Studio, 26 August 2026) put Pro at $12.99 a month ($7.50 billed yearly), Max at $34.99 ($20.99 yearly), Ultra at $99 ($82.50 yearly). For MAIN you want Pro. You do not want Video. Cut the background, flatten to RGB 255, 255, 255, proof the label, crop so the unit fills the frame. Do not buy Max because the marketing page also says video.
2. remove.bg. Start here if the only job is a clean clip and you already have Photoshop or a listing template waiting. remove.bg is a background remover, not a catalog studio. ToolChase read the live pricing page on 8 September 2026: free is preview quality at 0.25 megapixels. Personal is 40 credits at $9 a month ($8.10 billed yearly). Professional starts at 200 credits for $39 a month. One credit is one full-resolution cutout, up to 50 megapixels. Unused subscription credits roll while you stay subscribed. Pay-as-you-go packs exist if volume is a one-off. Composite the PNG onto a true-white square yourself. remove.bg will not tell you the file is 85 percent fill. That is your crop.
3. Pixelcut. Start here if the work happens on a phone and you will flatten a folder, not one hero. Pixelcut's pricing (read 20 September 2026, yearly toggle) lists Free at $0 with limited background removal and upscale, watermark-free export. Pro is $10 a month ($8 billed yearly) with 600 AI credits, unlimited background removal and upscale, a 3-person team, 1,000 batch exports a month, and a commercial license. Business is $30 ($24 yearly) with 3,600 credits, a 10-person team, and 2,000 batch exports. Background removal on Pro is the MAIN job. Generative fill and AI backgrounds are how you accidentally invent a scene Amazon will reject in the first slot. Use Pixelcut to clip and flatten. Save the scene tools for Gallery.
4. Versely. Versely sits here because the shop often has a decent photo and a dirty wall, not a missing SKU. Attach the photograph. Ask for a pure white sweep. Keep the object. That is an edit, not a generate. Nano Banana 2 is the live Google still: 4 credits discounted (7 full), text-to-image plus image-to-image plus edit-image, up to 14 references, 1K / 2K / 4K. Imagen 4 is shut down on Google's Gemini API (17 August 2026). Do not open a leftover Imagen card. Qwen Image Edit 2511 is 2 credits discounted (3 full) when the instruction is small: "replace the background with pure white RGB 255, 255, 255, do not change the bottle." Flux 2 Max is 6 credits, photoreal, text-to-image only. It will invent a bottle. Use it for a concept SKU, not as MAIN for inventory you already hold. Recraft is vectors, not photos. Do not letter a carton on Recraft and upload it as MAIN. Versely will not replace Photoroom for a hundred white cutouts. It is the app when one plate needs an edit you can inspect at 100 percent. Motion is later. Hailuo 2.3 Fast is 12 credits at 6s discounted (23 full) and 23 at 10s (45 full). Run it only after MAIN is locked, and put the clip in Gallery, not in the first slot.
5. Photoshop. Open Photoshop when the edge is glass, hair, mesh, or a clipping path a reviewer will zoom. Adobe's US Photoshop compare page still lists the Photography plan at $19.99 a month, annual billed monthly, with desktop Photoshop plus Lightroom and 1TB (Photutorial snapshot, 30 July 2026; Configurator Reloaded, 1 September 2026). Standalone Photoshop is $22.99 a month on the same billing. Generative fill can grow a white field. It can also grow a second cap. For MAIN, prefer a path and a fill of 255, 255, 255 over a prompt. Batch with Actions if the catalog is a folder of similar packs. Photoshop is slow on purpose. That is the point when Amazon will suppress the listing for a gray fringe.
6. Canva. Open Canva only if the file already lives on a brand template and you need a 1:1 crop, not a new object. Canva Pro is about $144 a year on typical 2026 annual pricing. Independent reads of the 2026 AI table (The Rundown, 29 August 2026; Moda, 9 September 2026) give Pro a shared monthly allowance: up to 2,000 Standard, 200 Premium, or 20 Ultra AI uses. Background remover sits in the design seat you already pay for. Magic Studio will happily invent a lifestyle. Do not. Crop square, check fill, export JPEG, eyedropper white. If you blow Ultra on a generated bottle, you spent the expensive bucket on a file Amazon may still reject as not a photograph.
How to pick a MAIN stack
Photograph the unit. Then pick the clipper.
- Dirty table, many SKUs, no Photoshop habit: Photoroom Pro.
- One clip, already in Photoshop: remove.bg, or Photoshop alone.
- Phone folder, 50 similar packs: Pixelcut Pro batch, then a human eyedropper pass.
- One plate, wall is the problem, object is already true: Versely Nano Banana 2 or Qwen edit.
- Glass, mesh, a path you will reuse: Photoshop.
- Already in Canva for the rest of the brand: crop there. Do not generate MAIN there.
Two tools is a shop stack. Photoroom plus a camera covers most grocery and hard goods. Photoshop plus remove.bg covers jewelry and bottles. Add Versely when the still is locked and the field is not. Add Pixelcut when the work is a folder on a phone. Add Canva only if you already pay for Canva.
Do not stack six bills. MAIN is one file per child SKU.
After the white file
Eyedropper the field at several points, including the corners. Off-white becomes a dirty thumbnail on Amazon's own white page. Proof the label at 100 percent. A wrong character is a different SKU. Crop until the unit fills about 85 percent. Leave a tight contact shadow if the object needs to sit, or flatten fully if your category style guide wants a cutout. No badges. No "Amazon's Choice" overlays. No extra units "for scale."
Adult apparel MAIN is a standing person, not a ghost mannequin. If you do not have a model, that is a different job (on-model stills) and a different list. Accessories stay flat.
When the still is locked and the field is the only problem, sign up and run the edit. When the still is a hundred cutouts, stay in Photoroom. The list is six apps. MAIN is one photograph.
FAQ
Can I generate a white packshot and upload it as MAIN?
You can generate a white picture. Amazon still wants a realistic image of the product you ship. A reviewer, a customer, and a returns desk will compare the file to the unit. Photograph inventory. Generate concept SKUs, and keep those off MAIN until legal says otherwise.
Does Photoroom Pro include video I can put in Gallery?
No. Video Generator is not on Pro. Max includes up to 50 video generations. Ultra includes up to 150. Independent breakdowns (AI Media Studio, 26 August 2026; PulseSignal, 14 September 2026) put video at about 500 credits a call. MAIN does not need video. Do not upgrade for a clip you will make in a different app.
Where does Versely fit if I already have Photoroom?
On the one plate Photoroom's cutout fights: a label that must stay, a glass edge, a field that is almost white. Nano Banana 2 or Qwen as an edit. Not Flux 2 Max as a new bottle. Photoroom remains the folder tool. Versely is not trying to be Batch.
