Firefly's commercially-safe pitch — licensed training, Stock-class provenance, indemnity on qualifying plans — is a real procurement sentence. It attaches to native Firefly models. The same window also runs partner systems. Veo 3.1, Kling 3 and Runway Gen-4.5 do not become Firefly-trained because the button lives in Adobe's UI.
Versely does not host Firefly. It hosts the jobs teams actually run after they notice that split: Veo named as Veo, Kling named as Kling, stills from catalog image rows, captions and publishing on the same bill. The sections below are that naming problem, not a clone of Firefly's generate panel, and not a claim that Versely inherits Adobe's indemnity.
Name the weights, not the window
generate-a-video-from-text should dispatch to Veo 3.1 when the brief is always-on dialogue, because that is a Google model with Google's terms — in Flow, in Firefly, or here. generate-an-image-from-text should dispatch to a catalog image row when the brief is a still, not to a partner video model hiding in an image-shaped button.
If the SOW paid for Firefly's training-data story, a Veo hero does not deliver it. 'We made it in Firefly' is not the paperwork.
Stills and heroes can split on purpose
Plenty of campaigns should generate commercially-positioned stills in Firefly and the talking hero on Veo. That only works if you describe both files honestly. What you cannot do is quote Firefly's licence story over the Veo plate.
Speech in Firefly is also a licence fork
Firefly Generate Speech is an Adobe-native audio product. ElevenLabs inside Firefly is not. write-and-generate-a-voiceover on this catalog is a TTS row you can name. Mixing those in one campaign without saying so is how a legal review fails at handover.
The file still has to leave the generator
transcribe-and-caption-my-video burns timed captions onto whichever model produced the plate. That step is not a Firefly setting and not a Veo setting. It is why a studio is larger than a commercially-safe window.
How it works
1. Read the SOW for which weights were bought
Native Firefly, or 'whatever the Firefly window runs'. Those are different purchases.
2. Put stills and heroes on the rows that match that sentence
If the client bought Firefly-native, keep those stills in Firefly. Run Veo where Veo is named.
3. Generate the named model on this catalog when Firefly was only the window
Veo 3.1 for dialogue. Kling 3 Turbo for motion. An image row for the still. One bill.
4. Caption and hand over with the model names on the slate
Procurement should be able to read which file came from which weights. The UI you clicked is not that list.
