30 clips on a dynamic preset is 60 base caption renders
The leftover /cost/captions-on-a-month-of-clips meter is caption_render × (1 or 2) × clips: 21 basic presets at 1×, 9 dynamic at 2×. Transcription is the same work. Thirty clips on Glass is sixty base renders; thirty clips on a basic preset is thirty.
What captions cost across a month of clips already isolates the formula. This leftover is the identity of the 2×: Glass is not a vibe upgrade. It is a second caption_render on every clip that uses it. Pin it as the brand default and a 30-clip month is a 60-render month before anyone recuts.
The leftover meter
credits = caption_render × preset_multiplier × clips
caption_render is the base charge for transcribing and burning captions onto one video, quoted per clip in the app before the render runs. Do not invent a credit figure. Read the quote.
preset_multiplier is 1 for any of the 21 basic presets, 2 for any of the 9 premium animated ones. There is no third tier and no partial multiplier.
clips is per video. A month of posting multiplies the whole thing by cadence. Thirty clips on a 1× preset is thirty base renders. Thirty clips on a 2× preset is sixty.
Add captions to a video is the studio job: add_veed_captions, speech in, styled burn-in out. Transcribe and caption my video is the named agent twin. Default preset is glass if you do not name a vibe. That default is how a 2× month happens by accident.
There is a second catalogue. Caption styles is nine families of five — Classic, Paper, Ink, Halo, Hype, Signature, Headline, Snap, Reveal. VEED Basic/Dynamic is what the studio actually burns. They are not the same list. Classic is not Corpo. Snap is not Glass. VEED Caption Presets: Basic Tier vs Dynamic Tier is the treatment map. This leftover is only the 30 → 60 arithmetic.
Nine Dynamic presets at 2×
These nine are the premium animated set. Each one is a 2× preset_multiplier. Transcription and timing do not change.
1. Glass
The default people reach for because it is the first example and the agent default. Emotional, word-timed. Thirty clips on Glass is sixty base renders. Preview it on your file before you pin it.
2. Whisper
Quiet, karaoke-shaped. Same 2×. Same transcript. If you picked it because it “feels softer,” you still bought the Dynamic tier.
3. Fusion
Excited reveal. Word-timed punch. Same meter as Glass. Switching Fusion for Glass mid-series is a new show and still 2×.
4. Glide
Animated travel on the active word. 2×. Not a Basic “plain” look with extra motion sprinkled on.
5. Glide 2
Sibling of Glide. Still Dynamic. Still 2×. A variant is not a discount.
6. Terminal
Laptop-shock treatment. 2×. Useful when the type is the event. Expensive when the type is furniture on thirty explainers.
7. Handwritten
Heartfelt, animated. 2×. Hand-feeling glyphs do not change the transcription pass.
8. Backdrop
Plate behind the letters. 2×. The plate is the look you are paying for, not extra accuracy.
9. Backdrop 2
Sibling of Backdrop. Still one of the nine. Still 2×. There is no 1.5×.
Basic is the other twenty-one: Simple, Plain, Corpo, Beans, Hustle, and the rest of the legibility-first set. Those bill at 1×. Thirty clips on Simple is thirty base renders. Same speech-to-text. Same timing pass.
Thirty clips is sixty base renders
Worked leftover, from the cost scenario’s own cadence:
- 30 clips × 1 (basic) = 30 base renders
- 30 clips × 2 (Glass, or any of the nine) = 60 base renders
- Extra you are buying: +30 renders, for a purely visual difference
The cost page’s cadence table makes the same point at 8, 15, 30, 60, and 90 clips. A daily poster on premium presets pays the same caption bill as a twice-daily poster on basic ones. This leftover names Glass because that is the default. The arithmetic is identical for Whisper or Terminal.
The 2× compounds with cadence rather than being a one-off styling fee. A brand kit that saves Glass does not charge you at save time. Every later caption render does. Mix on purpose: Dynamic on the hero hooks, Basic on the rest. The multiplier is per clip. It need not be account-wide.
Preview before you commit. preview_caption_style burns the first few seconds of your video. Choosing a style by captioning three whole files is three full-price jobs to make an aesthetic decision.
Transcription is the same work
The leftover meter is not a quality slider. VEED transcribes 165 language codes. It does not transcribe better because you picked Glass. It does not translate. A Spanish VO gets Spanish captions. Dub first if you need another language, then caption the dubbed file.
It also does not write a headline you typed. Audible speech only. A mute product plate has nothing to listen to — overlay that line, do not spend a caption_render on silence. Captions are burned into the pixels. Recut after this pass and you buy the render again.
Do not confuse this with the 45-family caption styles catalogue. Classic Yellow is not a VEED Dynamic id. Budget against the engine the studio is using. Thirty clips on Glass is sixty base renders; thirty on a basic preset is thirty. Transcription is the same work.
FAQ
Do Dynamic presets transcribe more accurately than Basic?
No. The transcription and timing are the same work across every preset. The tier changes the visual treatment and the charge, not the accuracy.
Is Glass 2× because it is the default?
Glass is 2× because it is one of the nine Dynamic presets. The agent defaulting to glass is how a 2× month happens without a decision. Name a Basic preset if you meant 1×.
Are the nine-family caption-styles the same as these nine Dynamic presets?
No. Caption styles is nine families of five, including Classic. VEED Dynamic is Glass, Whisper, Fusion, Glide, Glide 2, Terminal, Handwritten, Backdrop, Backdrop 2. Different names, different renderer, different meter.
Does a longer video change the 2×?
The caption render is quoted per clip in the app before it runs, and the preset multiplier applies on top of whatever that figure is. The multiplier itself never changes with length. Thirty Dynamic clips are still sixty base renders.
