6 apps for a script-to-presenter clip
Synthesia, Elai, HeyGen, Versely, Colossyan, and Canva turn a script into a presenter. Pick by PPT, seat, credits, course, or brand frame.
The script is done. Legal signed it. You need a presenter on screen saying those words, not a blank timeline and a weekend. Six apps will take the text. Synthesia is the slide-and-avatar studio. Elai is the PPT-notes-as-speech tool. HeyGen is the marketing avatar seat. Versely is the credit-pool generate from script or audio. Colossyan is the course builder that also speaks. Canva is the brand template you already post from. This page is that list. It is not "text to video 2026." It is not a pitch to rewrite the script in six different editors.
Proof the script at 100 percent. A misspelled product name becomes a spoken misspelled product name. A claim you would not put in an email becomes a face saying it on loop.
The presenter is synthetic unless you filmed a person. Label it. Do not paste a customer quote into an avatar and call it a review.
What a script-to-presenter clip actually is
The job is: words in, a talking presenter out. One approved document. One file. Not "generate a video from a prompt about our brand." Not a stock-footage montage with a voiceover and no face. If you wanted B-roll from a paragraph, that is a different product (Pictory, InVideo, a text-to-video model). Those apps are not this list.
Three inputs get confused:
Plain script. A Google Doc. A paragraph. You pick an avatar, you generate. HeyGen, Synthesia, Versely's HeyGen rows, Elai.
Slides plus notes. The deck is the picture. The notes field is the speech. Elai is explicit about this. Synthesia and Colossyan import PPT. Canva starts from the design.
Audio you already recorded. You hate the camera, not the mic. A lipsync row can take audio. That is still a presenter clip. It is not a script-to-presenter clip until you skip the booth.
Length is the other fork. A 20-second ad and an 8-minute module both start from text. They do not share a plan. Count minutes before you fall in love with a demo.
The six apps
1. Synthesia. Start here if the script already lives next to a deck, and the file has to look like enablement. Synthesia's pricing (read 20 September 2026) is Basic at $0 with 1,200 credits a month (about 10 minutes of video, no MP4 on the free story). Starter is $29 a month or $18 billed yearly: downloads, logo off, 125+ avatars, 3 personal avatars, 10 minutes of video or 48 minutes of AI dubbing from the same credit pool. Creator is $89 a month or $64 billed yearly: 3,600 credits, about 30 minutes of video, 180+ avatars, 5 personal avatars, API (up to 360 minutes a year deducted from the plan), interactive video. Enterprise quotes unlimited minutes, 1-click translation, SCORM, brand kits, SSO. PowerPoint import is on the table. Paste the script, pick the avatar, generate. You stay because the approved words and the slide stay in one editor. You leave when you needed three 15-second ads and you just bought a 10-minute training bucket.
2. Elai. Open Elai when the script is the notes under the slides. Elai's pricing page (read 20 September 2026) lists Free at $0 with 1 minute, 80+ avatars, 75+ languages. Creator is $29 a month or $23 billed yearly ($276 a year) with 15 minutes a month, Full HD. Team is $125 a month or $100 billed yearly ($1,200 a year) with 50 minutes, 4K, 3 editors, 1 selfie avatar and 1 voice clone on annual. Extra minutes are $2 each on a paid plan. Render burns minutes even if you re-export the same project. Delete does not refund. Studio avatars are $500 a year, selfie avatars $199 a year, voice clones $200 a year as add-ons. Elai's honest trick is PPTX-to-video: the note under the slide becomes the avatar's line. If you do not have a deck, you are paying for a presenter studio you could have bought elsewhere. If you do have a deck, this is the shortest path from notes to mouth.
3. HeyGen. Open HeyGen when the script is a marketing line, not a lesson. HeyGen's pricing (read 20 September 2026) is Creator at $29 a month ($24 yearly) with 600 credits, 30-minute cap, 1080p, unlimited photo avatars, 175+ languages. Pro starts at $49 with 1,000 credits and 4K. Business is $149 plus $20 a seat, 1,500 credits, 60-minute cap, SCORM on that tier. Free is 3 videos a month, 1 minute each. You paste the script, you pick stock or a custom video avatar, you generate. Translation and script proofreading sit on higher plans (Pro can edit the translated script). You stay because the avatar library is the product. You leave when the "script" was 40 slides of compliance training. That is Synthesia or Colossyan with extra steps.
4. Versely. Versely sits here because the script is often one of several files that week, and you do not want a presenter seat for a single approved paragraph. Paste or upload audio onto HeyGen Avatar V5: 8 credits a second, 40 minimum, 960 maximum, premade avatars, no image required. If the cheaper mouth pass is enough, HeyGen Avatar V3 is 3 credits a second, 14 minimum, 327 maximum. Mute viewers still need words: burn them on the AI caption generator after the file exists. Versely is not Elai. It will not turn your notes field into scenes. It is not Synthesia. There is no SCORM button. It is the app when the script is short, the presenter is a catalog face, and the rest of the week is other generates on the same pool. Do not buy a Creator seat for three 12-second reads if a credit row covers the reads.
5. Colossyan. Open Colossyan when the script is a module outline, not an ad. Colossyan's pricing (read 20 September 2026) puts Starter at free: 20 minutes of NEO a month, PPT and PDF import, unlimited course creation, 15 auto translations a month, 10 interactive videos a month. Professional is $59 a month annual: 30 minutes NEO, 10 minutes NEO2, 5 SCORM exports a month, watermark off, extra editor $30 a month. Enterprise unlimited NEO, custom NEO2, unlimited SCORM. Minutes do not roll on a monthly cycle. Annual billing dumps the year's minutes on day one. Scene limit on Starter and Professional is 40. A 90-second script that is really 12 scenes still has to fit. Colossyan is the wrong click for a one-line hook. It is the right click when the script is a course and the presenter is how you ship it without a studio.
6. Canva. Open Canva when the presenter clip has to sit on a brand template you already use. Canva Pro is the design seat most teams already pay for. Independent 2026 reads of the AI allowance (The Rundown, 29 August 2026; Moda, 9 September 2026) put Pro around $144 a year, with a shared monthly bucket: up to 2,000 Standard, 200 Premium, or 20 Ultra AI uses. Video is the expensive bucket. You paste the line, you generate a short talking clip (or drop someone else's MP4) onto the 4:5 you were going to post. You do not get HeyGen's custom video avatar enrollment or Elai's notes-to-speech pipeline. You get a presenter that already lives on the carousel. If you blow Ultra on talking heads, Magic Write and image gen starve the same month. Keep Canva for the frame even when the MP4 comes from row 1 through 5.
How to pick from a finished script
Write the length and the destination before you open an app.
- Script plus slides, L&D destination: Synthesia. Colossyan if the LMS pack is the product.
- Script sitting in PPT notes: Elai.
- Script is a 20-second ad or a LinkedIn talk: HeyGen, or Versely if you do not want the seat.
- Script has to land on a Canva post: generate elsewhere if the Ultra bucket is thin, then drop the file on the template.
- Script is one of many generates this week: Versely.
Two apps is a stack. Synthesia plus Canva covers a lot of internal-and-then-social weeks. Elai plus nothing covers a deck that already has notes. HeyGen plus CapCut covers a marketing read you still have to caption. Six apps is how an approved paragraph becomes six drafts.
Count minutes. Starter-class seats are often about 10 minutes a month. A 90-second script with two retries is 4.5 minutes. A 10-module course is a different invoice. Credits on Versely are duration-driven on those HeyGen rows. Quote them in credits. Quote vendor seats in USD, dated.
After the presenter file
The script can still be wrong after it talks. Listen once at 1x. Listen once on a phone speaker. Names, numbers, and "not" are the failure modes.
Captions are not optional. The UGC video generator is a different job (a body and a product, not a presenter). If you needed a handheld UGC read, you are on the wrong list. This list is a presenter saying the approved words.
Disclose the synthetic face. Do not put a catalog avatar in a "customers say" cutdown. If the script is a testimonial, film the person or drop the claim.
When the job is a short approved read on a credit row, sign up and run V5 or V3. When the job is a deck, stay in Synthesia, Elai, or Colossyan. The list is six apps. The script is one document.
FAQ
Is a PowerPoint the same as a script?
No. A deck is pictures plus optional notes. A script is words. Elai, Synthesia, and Colossyan will import a PPT. They still need speech, from notes or from a paste. A 40-slide deck with empty notes is not a presenter clip. It is homework.
How long can the clip be before the plan breaks?
On public tables, HeyGen Free is 1 minute per video. Creator and Pro cap a video at 30 minutes, Business at 60. Synthesia Starter is about 10 minutes a month of video, Creator about 30. Elai Creator is 15 minutes a month. Count retries. A 12-minute module with two regenerations is 36 minutes of burn if the vendor charges per render.
Why is Versely not first if I already have the script?
Because a script-to-presenter week is often a training week. Synthesia, Elai, and Colossyan own that shape. Versely is the row when the script is short and you already buy other generates. It will not import your notes field.
