Connecting a social account is an OAuth tap, not a post. One request. One link to tap to finish connecting. connect_social_account starts the connection and returns an OAuth URL you have to open yourself. The agent cannot complete OAuth on your behalf. Asking this job to "post it to TikTok" wastes the turn — and, if the agent tries to publish anyway, you still have no account on the other end.

Connect a social account is the named capability. Platforms: Instagram, TikTok, TikTok Business, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky. No generation is involved, so the step itself does not use content credits. That does not make it a free substitute for posting, scheduling, or analytics. Those are other tools, and posting bills per platform.

    What this job actually is

You name the platform. The agent returns an auth URL (or, if that URL cannot be generated, the in-app deep link to Auto-Post Accounts). You tap it. You authorize. After that, the account shows up via the social-account list and is ready to post to.

Until you tap, nothing is connected. Chat cannot finish a browser consent screen. Treat the link as the product. Do not sit in the thread waiting for a "connected" confirmation you never authorized.

    What wastes credits

Credits are not the usual leak here. Turns and failed publishes are.

Publish before connect. Post or schedule to social media checks which platforms you actually connected. "Post this Reel" with no Instagram account is a refused publish, not a connect. Say "connect Instagram" if that is the missing step.

Analytics on an empty roster. Check my social media performance reads connected accounts. Connecting is the prerequisite, not the report.

Connecting as if it queued a post. OAuth is not a caption, not a time, not a media URL. After the account exists, schedule in a second request. Combining "connect TikTok and post this tonight" in one breath is how the post half runs against nothing.

Reconnecting instead of cancelling. If you need to pull a scheduled item, manage my scheduled posts. A new OAuth does not unpublish last Thursday.

    The test

Do you already have the platform linked in Versely?

If no, this is the job. Name the platform. Tap the link. Stop.

If yes, and you want the file on that platform, post or schedule. If you want numbers, check performance. If you want a reviewer to see the file without an account, that is a share link, not a social connect. This is one named agent job. Using it for a different job wastes credits — or, more often here, wastes a publish you thought you had.

    FAQ

Can the agent finish the TikTok login for me?

No. It returns a URL you open. OAuth has to be you. After you authorize, the account appears in the connected list.

    Which platforms can I connect?

Instagram, TikTok, TikTok Business, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, and Bluesky. Name the one you mean. "Connect socials" without a platform is a clarifying question, not a bulk OAuth.

    Does connecting cost generation credits?

No. There is no generate on this path. Posting later is 2 credits per platform you post to. Do not treat the free connect as a free publish.

Why did posting fail right after I asked to connect?

Because the OAuth step was not finished, or it was finished for a different platform than the one in the caption request. Connect, confirm the account is listed, then post. Two jobs, on purpose.
