Sharing a generation mints a preview link anyone can open

create_share_link is a review URL with a preview card. It is not a social post and not a project save.

Sharing a generation mints a preview link anyone can open. One request. A link you can send anyone. create_share_link takes a hosted media URL and returns a shareable link with a rich preview card — image or video, plus the original prompt as a caption. Opening it does not require a Versely account. Using this job as a publish, a WeTransfer, or a project folder wastes a post you did not mean to send, or leaves the reviewer in a file pile with no preview.

Share a generation with a link is the named capability. Minting the link does not use generation credits. It works for a generation, an upload, or a library item — not only the most recent take. Point at the URL. Get the link.

    What this job actually is

You have a file you want a human to look at. A client, a teammate, a brand contact. You ask for a sendable link. The agent mints it. Paste it into email, Slack, WhatsApp. The preview card renders before anyone clicks through. If the Versely app is installed, the link can deep-link in; otherwise it offers the store. Reviewers do not create accounts to watch a cut.

That is the product: preview without an account wall. It is not an export. It is not a caption on TikTok. It is not a named collection in your library.

    What wastes credits

The mint is free. The mix-up is not.

Posting when you meant review. Post or schedule to social media publishes to a connected account and bills per platform. A share link does not post. "Share this to Instagram" is a publish. "Give me a link for the client" is this job.

Saving instead of sharing. Save generations to a project files keepers into a named collection. The client cannot open your project. You still need a link.

Emailing a file. Attachments get filtered, skip preview, and fail on phones. The share primitive exists so review is a tap. Exporting a FINAL_v7.mp4 and calling it a share is how v8 cannot be matched to the comments.

Regenerating because the reviewer "didn't get it." If they got a filename, they did not get a preview. Mint the link. Do not buy another take to solve a delivery problem.

    The test

Does a human need to see this file without logging in, and should it not go out as a public post?

If yes, this is the job. Point at the media. Send the URL.

If it should be public on a connected account, post. If it should live in a collection, save to a project. If you cannot find the file, find something I made before. This is one named agent job. Using it for a different job wastes credits — usually on a regenerate or a publish that was never the request.

    FAQ

Does the reviewer need a Versely account?

No. The link shows a preview card without a login. That is the reason to use it for clients.

Can I share an upload, or only AI generations?

Any hosted media URL the tool accepts: generation, upload, or library item. "Share this" is enough if the file is in the thread.

Is a share link the same as posting?

No. Posting needs a connected account, a caption, and a platform, and it charges per platform. A share link is a review URL. Connecting an account is also a different job: connect a social account.

Why not drop the generation in Drive and call it done?

You can. You will also lose the preview card, the prompt caption, and the "opens on a phone in a queue" part. The mint is free. The Drive dump is how review rounds stall on "did you get a chance to look at that yet."
