Boat dealers: the hull still is the SKU

A boat listing that ships is this hull, this sheer, this transom graphic — then a few seconds of water and camera on that photograph. It is not a paragraph about a sport boat at golden hour. Text-to-video will invent a cousin of the unit on the pad. Image-to-video is how the hull stays the SKU.

Photograph the boat you will sell. Approve that still. Then buy motion. Do not prompt a nicer bow and call it inventory.

The listing photo is the hull

The buyer already knows the model line. They are trying to recognise the unit: hull colour, canvas, the outboard that is actually hung. If that jpeg would fail as slot one on the dealer site, motion will not save it. Crop to the boat. Then write a motion line that names camera and water only.

Kling 3 Turbo Image to Video is the short water pass: image required, 3–15 seconds, 720p or 1080p, billed per second (12 credits listed, 10 discounted). Catalog audio is false. Features: image_to_video. Silent clip of the still moving — wake, a slow push along the sheer, light on gelcoat. Not a talking captain. Not a new boat.

There is no text-to-video contract on that card. If you only have a sentence ("a 24-foot bowrider cutting a lake"), lock the listing still first.

Water is motion on that plate

Once the still is the still, water is physics you are allowed to add. Ripple against a hull that is already in the frame. A hold on the transom while the surface moves. Two competing actions in six seconds — wake and a camera whip and a sky rewrite — is how Turbo looks expensive.

Do not prompt a second hull colour or a cleaner canvas. Those are claims. Repeating "exact SKU" in the motion prompt is how you invite a renegotiation. Identity is already in the pixels. Turbo I2V does not list native audio. Overlay a stock number after picture lock. Do not ask the sampler to typeset horsepower.

A 30-second loop is a different row

Seedance 2.5 Image to Video is the longer still-to-motion row: one approved frame into a continuous clip, 4–30 seconds, up to 720p, native audio with the picture, first and last frame when the shot has a destination. Use Seedance when the listing loop has to hold — a pad orbit that must remain this hull, or a first frame of the bow and a last frame of the transom, both photographed. Thirty seconds in one pass is why you do not stitch four short T2V clips around a boat that then grows a second stripe.

720p is the Seedance I2V ceiling. 1080p water on a locked still is the Kling Turbo job. Pick the row the file is. Lock the still before you spend on motion is the credit argument. A regen of water on a locked hull is a new take of the same unit. A regen of "a boat on a lake" is a new casting session.

Pause on the transom

Run the I2V take. Pause. Read the hull colour, the outboard, the graphic. If any of those would fail a listing audit, throw the clip away. Do not "fix" it in text-to-video. Shoot or crop a better still.

If they match, you have inventory in motion. Caption the price position later. The hull stayed the hull because you never asked the model to invent it.

Can I text-to-video a lake shot if I describe the hull carefully?

You can. You will recast the boat every take. Colour, canvas and transom marks are the expensive failure. I2V the listing photo so those are not sampled again.

Why Kling for water and Seedance for the listing loop?

No. Catalog audio is false. Score or overlay after. A talking walkaround is a different row.

Do I need a last frame of the transom?

Only when you have a second approved still and the shot is meant to travel bow to stern. A single hero still with water moving is the usual job. Last frame is control, not a default.
