TikTok Sans previews as Inter because it is proprietary

The /fonts live preview cannot self-host TikTok Sans; ten of 45 caption presets still default to it in the renderer, which is why the page says so.

/fonts/tiktoksans is still the Social Bold row: sans-serif, CSS family 'TikTok Sans', sans-serif. That string is what the burn uses. The live preview cannot load the actual files. TikTok Sans is proprietary in this webfont set. Next/font self-hosts Inter, Montserrat, Poppins, and the rest of the open families. TikTok Sans is not on that list. The preview maps tiktoksans to Inter’s class — the closest loaded neutral — rather than pretending a missing face is on your machine. Preview is Inter; burn is TikTok Sans

The caption-styles live preview does the same honest swap. fontId: tiktoksans is labelled TikTok Sans and weighted 700, but the CSS stack is var(--font-inter), "Helvetica Neue", Arial, sans-serif. Inter is already loaded site-wide. Shipping a fake self-host would be a worse lie than showing Inter and naming the product face.

If you have TikTok Sans installed locally, a font-family: 'TikTok Sans' rule might resolve. Most readers of the marketing site do not. What you see in the dark preview plate is Inter at caption sizes, with a text shadow, on a stand-in for footage. What you get in the export, when a preset binds tiktoksans, is the renderer’s TikTok Sans.

Inter is a different font. Preview Clean & Modern. Role: designed for screens at small sizes — tall x-height, open apertures, digits that do not blur.
