6 apps coffee shops use for a launch Reel
Photoroom, CapCut, Canva, Versely, Instagram, and Google Business Profile cover a coffee launch Reel. Pick by still, edit, frame, or Maps.
A launch Reel is one drink, named as the board names it, poured in the cup that shop uses. Six apps cover that file without a studio day. Photoroom cleans the cup or bag still when the bar is fluorescent. CapCut cuts the pour you actually filmed. Canva is the launch frame: the name, the dates, a price you can change. Versely is a short orbit from that locked still, or a barista one-tap if they agreed. Instagram is the Reel. Google Business Profile is the 30-second Offer people see on Maps the morning you tap. This page is that list. It is not a roaster origin film. It is not a restaurant specials calendar. It is one launch, this week.
Pick a human when the hands matter is the pour, the tamp, the oat-milk split. Generated steam on a cold cortado is a lie about the shot. A generated loft with Edison bulbs is a different lease. Neighbours will grade the tile grout and whether the takeaway cup is the one in their hand.
What a launch Reel actually is
AI video for cafes sells the morning routine: the pour, the first sip, the corner table. This list is narrower. It is the week you put a new drink or a new bag on the board and need one 9:16 file plus a Maps post before 7am.
A launch week is usually:
- A still of the cup or the bag, label readable, shot on the actual bar
- A phone clip of the pour, the lid, the name as the till spells it
- A 9:16 Reel under 30 seconds: board, pour, cup in a real hand
- A Canva frame with the launch name and the dates
- A Maps Offer with the real window, not a fake discount
- Captions, because the grinder is loud and a lot of views are mute
This is not AI video for coffee roasters. A roaster sells origin and a bag to cafes. A shop sells a drink from a machine the regulars already know the sound of. Do not copy a roast-curve film onto a launch cortado. Auto captions will hear "cortado" as "core tado." Burn the name as the board names it.
The six apps
1. Photoroom. Start here if the still is the problem. The cup looks like it was photographed under the pastry case. The bag looks like stockroom cardboard. Photoroom's pricing (read 20 September 2026) lists Pro at $12.99 a month ($7.50 yearly) with cutouts, retouch, and 1,000 exports. Video is not on Pro. Max at $34.99 ($20.99 yearly) adds the video generator (up to 50 generations) and Shopify sync. Ultra at $99 ($82.50 yearly) raises that video cap to 150. Independent breakdowns of that table (AI Media Studio, 26 August 2026; PulseSignal, 14 September 2026) put video at 500 credits a call. A shop that needs a clean cup still for the launch lives on Pro. A shop that also wants the cup to turn lives on Max, or on Pro plus CapCut, or on Pro plus Versely Hailuo. Do not pay Max for video if CapCut will animate the cutout. Do not invent a marble bar behind the cup and call it yours. Proof the label at 100 percent. A misspelled roast name becomes a crawling misspelled roast name.
2. CapCut. Open CapCut when someone poured the drink on a phone. Footage in, jump cuts, auto captions, a 9:16 export. Captions, then Auto captions, then a pass for the drink name. CapCut is free at a usable level for a launch Reel. The AI video generator will animate the cup still if you did not shoot the pour. CapCut's Seedance 2.5 image-to-video tutorial (read 20 September 2026) is launch-prep, not a promise that 2.5 is on every account today. Stay here when the pour exists. Leave when the still needed a white cutout Photoroom already did better, or when the file has to live on Maps at 30 seconds. CapCut is not a product photographer. It is the editor the rest of this list dumps files into. Do not generate steam on a cold cup and call it the launch.
3. Canva. Open Canva when the launch has to sit on the same brand as the board. Name, dates, a 4:5 and a 9:16. Independent reads of Canva's 2026 AI table (The Rundown, 29 August 2026; Moda, 9 September 2026) put Pro at about $144 a year, with up to 2,000 Standard, 200 Premium, or 20 Ultra AI uses a month. Image-to-video is Premium. High-quality video is Ultra. Twenty Ultra clips is a ceiling. For one launch Reel a month, Canva can hold the frame. For a new drink every week, do not blow Ultra on generated latte art. Overlay the price so you can change it. Overlay the name as the board spells it. Keep Canva for the frame even when the MP4 comes from CapCut or Versely. A shop that already makes the poster in Canva should not open a second design seat for the same oat cortado.
4. Versely. Versely is the cup or bag in a short orbit, or a barista one-tap if the launch is allowed to be a trend. The locked still goes to image-to-video with Hailuo 2.3 Fast at 12 credits for 6s discounted (23 full) and 23 at 10s (45 full). Prompt the camera: a slow push, a turn, light on the crema that is actually in the photo. Do not prompt steam that is not there. Do not prompt a loft you do not lease. If a barista agreed to a personality week, Finger Snap is about 18 credits discounted (35 full) from their photo. Mugshot is about 20 (40 full). MJ Dance is about 57 discounted (63 full) if the week can be a gag. Do not run Finger Snap on a bag. Do not run Hailuo on a selfie you wanted as a trend. Versely is not CapCut. It will not cut the morning pour you filmed. It is not Photoroom. It will not be your white-cup pipeline. It is the app when the still is locked and you need a clip before the first ticket.
5. Instagram. This is the default because the launch is a Reel, not a chalkboard photo dumped to the grid. Meta recommends 9:16 vertical for Reels (read 20 September 2026). Export 1080 by 1920. Keep the cup in the centre. The caption block will sit on the latte art if you put the name at the bottom. You can trim in the Instagram app if the cut is already close. Trial Reels let a public professional account with at least 200 followers test the launch on non-followers first. Instagram's copyright help still applies: do not post another cafe's pour as yours. Instagram is the wall. Finish captions before you rely on the player's tiny type. Tag the location. Regulars search the name, not a hashtag soup.
6. Google Business Profile. The launch has to exist on Maps the same morning, or the Reel is a private joke. Google's photo and video guidelines (read 20 September 2026) cap profile videos at 30 seconds, 75 MB, and 720p or higher. Photos should represent reality, with no significant alterations or excessive filters. A generated marble bar fails that line. Posts can carry a photo or a video plus an action button. Use Offer for the launch window, with dates. Use Update if the board changed. Use Event for a tap takeover. Maps is not Instagram. Cut a short, honest 30-second file from the same pour. Show the facade in the first seconds so someone on the pavement can match it. Do not letterbox a 9:16 Reel onto the listing and call it the launch.
How to pick for one drink
Write the launch in one sentence before you pull a shot.
- "The cup looks like stockroom light": Photoroom, then maybe motion.
- "We poured it on a phone": CapCut, then Instagram.
- "We need the name on the brand template": Canva, overlay the dates.
- "We have one decent still and twenty minutes": Versely Hailuo. Camera only.
- "A barista will do a gag": Versely one-tap, with a disclosure if the platform asks, never as a fake review.
- "Maps still shows last winter's brunch": Google Business Profile, with a real 30-second file and an Offer if the window is real.
Two apps is a bar. Photoroom plus CapCut covers a still and a pour. Canva plus Instagram covers a branded Reel. Versely plus GBP covers a still-to-clip and a Maps Offer. Six apps is a stack you will not open during the morning rush.
A studio day is still cheaper than six subscriptions you forget to cancel, if you only launch twice a year. The six apps win when the cadence is this drink, this week, and the files are small.
What still needs a human
A real pour, in the cup you sell. A barista who agreed to be in frame. A board that matches the caption. Those are bar days. Do not generate a cousin of the machine. Do not swap a cup size in post. Do not invent a seasonal syrup you are not running.
Captions still matter. Mute is most of the views. CapCut captions speech. Overlay the drink name so you can change it. Do not bake "$6.50" into a generated still. Proof the label after motion, not only before. Type in the pixels will crawl.
When the still is locked and the job is a short orbit, sign up and run image-to-video. When the still is a pour you already shot, stay in CapCut. The list is six apps. The launch is one drink.
FAQ
Can I generate latte art if this morning's pour was messy?
You can generate prettier foam. Regulars will be holding a different cup. Shoot the pour you sell, or skip the art shot and show the board plus the bag. A launch Reel is a promise about Tuesday.
Do I need Photoroom Max for the launch clip?
Usually not. Pro is the cutout. Motion can live in CapCut or Versely Hailuo. Max is the Photoroom video generator. Do not buy Max because the marketing page also says video if you already have an editor.
Why is Versely in the middle of a launch list?
Because a locked cup still with a camera move is a different job from "clean the still" and "cut the pour." Hailuo on the bag is not Instagram. Finger Snap is a barista gag, not a drink. If your launch is footage of the pour, you do not need Versely. If your launch is one photo, you might.
