AI Image to Video — Animate a Still You Already Own

Start from the frame you already have, not from a description of it.

Text-to-video argues with you about what the subject looks like. Image-to-video does not: frame one is already correct, and the model's only job is to move it. That is why product shots, character work and anything with a logo in it start from a still.

Versely hands your upload to whichever image-to-video model fits the shot — a slow push on a hero image, a full character turn, an establishing move that drifts across a landscape — and keeps the file you sent as the opening frame.

Models that take a still you already have and add motion to it.

52 models in Versely's catalog do this job, 27 of them with a spec page. 15 more are listed on the full model index.

What AI Image to Video Generator does

    Your upload is frame one

The still is the opening frame, not a style hint. What plays at 0:00 is the file you sent, so labels, faces and layout survive the generation.

    Motion prompts, not scene prompts

The model can already see the subject. Your prompt describes what changes — camera direction, speed, what the subject does — instead of re-describing the picture.

    First-and-last-frame runs

Some models accept a start frame and an end frame and interpolate between them. That is how you land on an exact final composition instead of hoping for one.

The still sets the aspect ratio

A 9:16 upload animates 9:16 and a 16:9 upload stays wide, so there is no re-crop step between the image tool and the video tool.

    Length is a dial

Most models here meter in credits per second of output, so a 5-second take and a 10-second take are a deliberate choice rather than a surprise.

    How it works

    1. 1. Upload the frame

Any still: a product photo, a generated image, a screenshot, a frame pulled from footage you shot.

    2. 2. Say what moves

Camera and subject only — 'slow orbit left, steam rising, everything else still'. Leave the description of the object out.

    3. 3. Pick the model

Choose by clip length and motion strength, or start with the ranked default and re-run the same frame elsewhere if the take drifts.

    4. 4. Extend or cut

Keep the take, extend it from its final frames, or send it to the video editor for a restyle.

    Frequently asked questions

What resolution should the source image be?+

Match the aspect ratio you want out, and send the largest clean version you have. If the only copy is a small crop, upscale it first — an image-to-video model can only preserve detail that exists in the frame you gave it.

Why does my subject drift or morph part-way through?+

Drift is the model running out of information about parts of the subject it has never seen. Shorten the clip, ask for less motion, keep the camera on one side of the subject, or use a first-and-last-frame model so both ends are pinned.

Do I still need a text prompt if I upload an image?+

Yes, but a shorter one. The prompt is for motion and camera work. Re-describing what is already visible in the frame tends to make the model re-invent it.

Can I set the final frame as well as the first?+

With the first-and-last-frame models in the roster, yes — supply both stills and the model generates the movement between them. The other models take a start frame only.

How long can an image-to-video clip run?+

Single takes run a few seconds up to roughly ten, depending on the model. For longer sequences, extend a clip from its last frames or chain takes together in Movie mode.
