6 apps gyms use for class clips

CapCut, Instagram, Canva, Versely, Descript, and Google Business Profile cover gym class clips. Pick by footage, Reel, recap, still, or Maps.

A class clip is the timetable in motion, not a generated Saturday packed with bodies that did not join. Six apps cover that file without a film crew. CapCut cuts the phone footage from a closed-floor hour. Instagram is the Reel. Canva is the branded schedule card. Versely is an empty-studio still in motion, or a coach one-tap if they agreed. Descript is the transcript edit when a coach actually talked. Google Business Profile is the 30-second room file on Maps. This page is that list. It is not a membership playbook. It is not "AI fitness video 2026." It is the class that runs this week.

Members in frame need a grant. A class without paper is a roomful of likeness problems. Shoot closed-floor hours, crop background faces, or blur. Do not mint a crowd. Do not mint a physique. Minors stay out of the ad, including "youth class energy." Mute viewers still need captions for silent autoplay.

What a class clip actually is

AI video for gyms sells member energy: peak-hour floor, a PR, a trainer-led form check. This list is narrower. It is the clip that names the class as the timetable spells it, in the room a visitor will walk into on Tuesday.

    A class week is usually:

    • A phone clip of a coach cueing a move, shot when the floor is closed or when everyone in frame signed
    • A 9:16 Reel with the class name burned as the board names it
    • A Canva card for the week's grid: 6am HIIT, 12pm strength, 7pm yoga
    • A coach recap, if they sat down for three minutes of speech
    • An empty-room still that can take a slow push without inventing people
    • A Maps clip under 30 seconds that shows the actual door and the actual floor tape

"I like the 6am class" is a facility line. "I lost 30 pounds here" is a claim you have to stand behind, with a grant. A generated "I got my life back" is a fabricated review wearing gym lighting. Auto captions will hear "HIIT" as "hit." Fix it.

    The six apps

    1. CapCut. This is the default if a coach will shoot. Phone footage in, jump cuts, auto captions, a 9:16 export. Captions, then Auto captions, then a pass for class names and coach names. CapCut is free at a usable level for a weekly Reel. The AI video generator will animate a still of the empty studio if you did not film a class. CapCut's Seedance 2.5 image-to-video tutorial (read 20 September 2026) is launch-prep, not a promise that 2.5 is on every account today. Stay here when the footage exists. Leave when the job is a talking recap you want to edit as text, or a Maps file that has to be 30 seconds. CapCut is not a membership photographer. It is the editor.

    2. Instagram. This is the default because the clip is a Reel. Meta recommends 9:16 vertical for Reels (read 20 September 2026). Export 1080 by 1920. Keep the coach and the move in the centre so the right-rail buttons do not sit on the barbell. You can trim in the Instagram app if the cut is already close. Trial Reels need a public professional account with at least 200 followers. Instagram's copyright help still applies: do not lift another box's PR as yours. Instagram is the wall. It is not a likeness release. A story from last week is not Ads Manager.

    3. Canva. Open Canva when the clip has to carry this week's grid. Brand kit, 4:5, the class names as the timetable spells them. Independent reads of Canva's 2026 AI table (The Rundown, 29 August 2026; Moda, 9 September 2026) put Pro at about $144 a year, with up to 2,000 Standard, 200 Premium, or 20 Ultra AI uses a month. Image-to-video is Premium. High-quality video is Ultra. Twenty Ultra clips is a ceiling. Overlay the times so you can change a cancelled 7pm. Do not bake a dead class into generated letters. Keep Canva for the frame even when the MP4 comes from CapCut. A gym that already makes the poster in Canva should not open a second design seat for the same grid.

    4. Versely. Versely is for the empty-studio still or the coach photo, not a minted Saturday class. An empty-room photo becomes a short push on image-to-video with Hailuo 2.3 Fast at 12 credits for 6s discounted (23 full) and 23 at 10s (45 full). Prompt the camera. Do not prompt a crowd. If a coach agreed to a personality week, Finger Snap is about 18 credits discounted (35 full). Mugshot is about 20 (40 full). MJ Dance is about 57 discounted (63 full) if the week is allowed to be a trend. Do not run MJ Dance on a member who did not ask. Do not run Hailuo on a selfie and caption it as a PR. Versely is not CapCut. It will not cut a 40-minute class recording. It is not Descript. It will not edit a ramble. It is the app when the floor is empty, the still is locked, and you need a clip before the next intro class.

    5. Descript. Open Descript when a coach did talk, and the problem is the edit. You edit the video by editing the transcript. Silence comes out. Studio Sound cleans the HVAC. Shorts can be pulled from the same file. Independent 2026 comparisons (AI Hustle Guy, 9 July 2026) put paid Descript around $16 a month on annual Hobbyist-class plans, with a free tier of about 60 media minutes. Confirm the live Descript page before you pay. Descript is the wrong app if nobody recorded. It is the right app if a coach sat down for eight minutes after 6am and you need three Reels without a timeline. CapCut can cut that footage too. Descript is faster when the footage is mostly speech. A form check is a coach you employ, identified as staff. A generated trainer diagnosing as if they hold a clinical licence is a different, bad object.

    6. Google Business Profile. Joiners still search the name. Google's photo and video guidelines (read 20 September 2026) want videos up to 30 seconds, up to 75 MB, and 720p or higher. Photos should represent reality, with no significant alterations. A generated packed floor fails that sentence. Posts can carry a photo or a video plus an action button. Use Update for a timetable change. Use Offer for a real intro week, with dates. Use Event for an open day. Maps is not Instagram. Cut a short, honest room file from the same shoot. Show the entrance in the first seconds. Do not upload a 9:16 Reel that letterboxes into a postage stamp on Search.

How to pick for the timetable

Write the week in one sentence before you roll.

    • "We shot the 6am on a closed floor": CapCut, then Instagram.
    • "The grid changed on Wednesday": Canva, overlay the times.
    • "The studio is empty and we have one photo": Versely Hailuo, or CapCut's generator if you already live there.
    • "A coach recorded a recap": Descript, then Instagram.
    • "A coach will do a gag": Versely one-tap, with a disclosure if the platform asks, never as a fake member.
    • "Maps still shows the old kit": Google Business Profile, with a real 30-second file.

Two apps is a gym. CapCut plus Instagram covers most class weeks. Descript plus Canva covers a talking recap and a grid. Versely plus GBP covers an empty-room still and a Maps refresh. Six apps is a stack you will not open between classes.

A membership agreement is not a paid-media release unless it says so in words a member could find. Paper before you roll for ads. Staff need a grant if they are identifiable in ads. A coach is not automatically talent.

    What still needs a human

A real member, on camera, who opted in. A PR you did not invent. A room that looks like Tuesday, not a foggy warehouse from a prompt. Those are film days. Do not generate a transformation. Do not generate a busy Saturday when you filmed a Tuesday.

Captions still matter. Mute is most of the views. CapCut and Descript both caption speech. Overlay the class name so you can change it. Do not bake "6am HIIT" into a generated still you cannot edit.

When the still is an empty room or a coach photo, sign up and run the motion row or the template. When the still is a class full of people, stay in CapCut and get the grants. The list is six apps. The class is one timetable.

    FAQ

Can I generate a packed class if Tuesday was quiet?

No. A minted crowd is a roomful of performers you do not have grants for. Shoot closed-floor, crop, or skip the energy shot. An empty-room push is a different, honest job.

Do I need Descript if the coach will not talk?

No. Descript is the speech editor. If nobody recorded, stay in CapCut or Versely. Paying for a transcript tool you never open is how a class clip becomes five logins.

Why is Versely next to Descript and CapCut?

Because the empty-still week is a different job from "cut the phone footage" and "edit the coach ramble." Hailuo on a locked studio photo is not a class. Finger Snap is not a membership film. If your week is footage of a class that exists, you do not need Versely. If your week is one photo, you might.
