Furniture: I2V the SKU; Midjourney is concept furniture
Listing vs look.
Listing vs look.
A furniture ad that ships is this chair: this joinery, this fabric SKU, this leg profile — then camera on that photograph. A furniture look is a mood: mythic walnut, a sofa that never went through QC. Those are two files. Mixing them is how a PDP loop shows a cousin of the unit the warehouse will pick.
I2V the listing photo. Keep Midjourney for concept furniture. Do not let the concept chair become slot one.
Listing is the unit you ship
The listing still is a factual claim about the SKU. Grain direction, stitch colour, the arm that is actually in the box. If you would not print that jpeg on a hangtag, do not buy motion. Fix the photo.
Seedance 2.5 Image to Video is the still-to-motion row for that plate: one locked frame into a continuous clip, 4–30 seconds, up to 720p, native audio with the picture. A second image sets the closing frame when the shot has a destination — front of the case to the open drawer, three-quarter to the back rail. Image required. Forty-seven credits listed. Features: image_to_video, first_frame, last_frame, long_form, audio_sync.
Prompt only the camera. A slow orbit, a window light that was already in the still. Do not prompt "make it look Midjourney." That is a restage. Identity is already in the pixels.
Thirty seconds in one pass is why this family belongs on a product-page loop. Stitching four short text-to-video clips around a case good is how the veneer drifts by second twelve. 720p is the ceiling. Feed and most PDP loops live there.
Look is concept furniture
The Midjourney look is a brand decision, not a default. Painterly light, tasteful grain, a slightly mythic product — that register is furniture you pick on purpose. It is excellent for editorial key art and an internal board of "where this line could go." It is the wrong sofa on a listing that has to match the carton.
If the account is photoreal UGC — in-home, "this is the chair in my apartment" — Midjourney reads as an ad wearing a costume. Quality is not the question. Midjourney stills can be excellent and still be wrong.
On Versely, Midjourney is a stills row (V7 in the catalog). Ten credits a generate on V7 is a hero-adjacent price. Volume concept boards belong on a workhorse. Use Midjourney when the brief is look. Relight any MJ concept on the house engine before it ships as a listing.
Two files, two jobs
| Job | File | Row |
|---|---|---|
| PDP / marketplace listing | Photograph of the actual unit | Seedance I2V |
| Campaign still, editorial, mood | Authored image, locked look | Midjourney, on purpose |
| New colourway that does not exist yet | Concept, labelled as concept | Midjourney or a workhorse |
| Open-drawer destination | Second approved photo | Seedance first + last |
Do not mix the contracts on one take. I2V means this listing frame is the first frame. Feeding a finished MJ hero to image-to-video and asking it to "just add a showroom orbit" will animate a chair you do not sell. A new SKU — a different arm, a different fabric — is a new still, not a prompt adjective.
Lock the still before you spend on motion is the credit argument.
Pause on the joinery
Run the I2V take. Pause. Read the legs, the stitch, the label. If any of those would fail a catalog audit, throw the clip away. Do not "fix" it by regenerating Midjourney. Make a new still of the unit.
If they match, you have a product move. The chair stayed the chair because you never asked the model to invent it.
FAQ
Can I use a Midjourney still as the furniture listing video?
Only if you are willing to ship a file that looks like Midjourney, not like the unit in the carton. If the buyer has to recognise the SKU, start from that photo on Seedance I2V. Midjourney is the look row.
Does animating the listing photo replace the listing photo?
No. Slot one is still the photograph. The video is supporting motion of that photograph. Do not swap in a generated still as the main image.
Do I need a last frame of the open drawer?
Only when you have a second approved still of that drawer and the shot is meant to travel. A single hero still with a slow orbit is the usual job.
Is 720p enough for a furniture PDP loop?
For feed and most product-page loops, yes. Identity of the joinery matters more than a 4K invention of a different chair.
