Title card that does not cover the SKU

Place the title card off the pack shot. A centered headline that covers the SKU is not a title; it is a crop.

Place the title card off the pack. Add a title card to a video is add_video_captions used as a centered headline with an optional background block — the tool’s own description lists headline and branded-label use cases. A pack shot is the still or hold where label, shape, and colour have to stay readable. A centered card that sits on the carton is not a title. It is a crop you burned in. Short line. Timed. Parked where the SKU is not.

This page is title versus pack. It is not “put the hook on screen before the SKU,” and it is not a motion-graphics template.

A title card is type, not a new shot

There is no separate title-card renderer. You write a few words, set position to center only when the picture under it can take a block, add a background so it reads, pick a font (list_caption_fonts if you care). Cost is a standard editor operation, same family as any add_video_captions render. It is static type-and-block, not an animated ident.

Keep the line short. Species plus price. Chapter One. The offer in four words. A paragraph is a caption track, not a card.

    Timing:

    • Intro card on the first 1–3 seconds, then off, then the pack hold in the clear.
    • Chapter marker mid-file via timestamped captions if you need several titles. Same rule: not on the SKU.
    • End card after the pack, not instead of it. The shopper still has to see the product.

If the first second is the pack — many UGC ads — do not also put a centered block there. Either delay the card until the pack has been seen, or put the title on a preceding color still, or skip the card and burn a caption in the safe area that does not cover the label.

The pack shot in a generate is often the input still. I2V must keep being that product. A title block is a second layer. It does not get you out of a melted logo. If the model warped the type on the carton, cut back to the still. Do not hide the warp under “NEW.”

    Where the block may sit

Center is the classic title placement and the default trap. Center is the same place you put a hero carton.

    Place instead:

    • On a dedicated title plate — a 1–2 second color field or a brand still with no SKU. Then cut to the pack with no type.
    • Top third, above the product, if the composition has sky or wall. Check 9:16 chrome: a top badge can still collide with interface.
    • Lower safe area only if that region is not the pack and not the username stack. On a tabletop shot the pack is the lower third. Then lower is forbidden.
    • Off after two seconds. A card that holds for the whole 8-second Veo take is a poster with a video behind it.

Preview at 480p if the title is part of an edit_video timeline. Then export. Read the label on a phone. If you cannot, the card won and the pack lost.

Do not use a full-screen background block on a pack hold. The block is for contrast on a busy plate. On a product hold the plate is the contrast. Type without a slab, or no type.

Captions for speech are a different layer. A title card is not the karaoke of the line. If the founder says the offer, burn captions in the safe area and skip the card, or card the brand name only where the mouth is not and the carton is not. Two types of type. One canvas.

Add captions to video after the card placement is locked if you still need word-timed speech. 21 BASIC at 1×; 9 DYNAMIC at 2×. A DYNAMIC look plus a title block plus a pack is three competing accents. Pick two.

    UGC order of beats

A workable sequence when you want both a title and a honest SKU:

    1. Optional 1s title plate (no product).
    2. Pack or talking-head-with-pack in the clear. No centered block.
    3. Speech captions in safe area, off the label.
    4. Optional end card after the last pack hold.

    What fails:

    • Generate a pack-first UGC, then center “50% OFF” on the bottle for eight seconds.
    • I2V a still, then a title that covers the only readable type on the carton — now the viewer has your overlay and a melted logo.
    • Title on 16:9, then crop 9:16. The block moves onto the product. Aspect first, title second, same as captions.

YouTube Shorts AI overlay (27 May 2026) is extra furniture on photoreal files, on the video. Leave room. A title plus a platform chip plus a pack is a collision.

The UGC video generator will not typeset a safe title because the prompt said “intro card.” Type is an editor pass. The generate should leave a region that can take a card or leave the pack clean. You choose.

Write the line, then hide it from the carton

On paper: the title words, the timestamp they appear, the timestamp they leave, and a note — “not on the SKU.” If you cannot point to a region of the frame that is free, you do not have a title card job. You have a caption job or a separate plate.

If the generate is 4/6/8 seconds, a 3-second centered card leaves almost no pack hold. Prefer 1 second of title plate, then the carton in the clear for the rest. A chapter marker mid-spot is for a longer assembly, not for a Veo clip that is already the whole ad.

If you need a seat to burn a short headline that leaves the pack readable, sign up. Bring the uncaptioned pack hold. Do not center a paragraph on it.

    FAQ

Is there a dedicated title-card tool?

No. It is add_video_captions used as a centered (or otherwise placed) headline with an optional background block. Headline and branded-label are listed use cases. It is not a motion-graphics intro.

Can the title sit on the product if I make the type small?

Small type on a SKU is still a crop of the label, and it will not read on a phone. Move the card in time or in space. The pack has to stay readable.

Title card or captions for the offer?

If the offer is spoken, captions in the safe area. If the offer is a two-word ident before the pack, a title plate. If both, do not stack them on the carton at 0:00.
