Pick Seedance when the SKU must hold

When the pack cannot morph, start Seedance from a locked still. Text-to-video invents a cousin SKU.

    Versely Team••6 min read

Pick Seedance this week when the SKU must hold. If the bottle, carton, or device cannot become a cousin between frame one and frame last, do not start from a blank text-to-video prompt. Start from a still you already approved and let Seedance add motion (and, on the sounded rows, audio) under that identity. A paragraph that says “same label” is not a barcode.

This is not an OEM pack-shot template and it is not a “lock this still” model card. It is the weekly radio: when identity of a sellable object is the job, Seedance from a still beats a cinematic T2V guess.

Why Seedance for a SKU, and why a still

Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance’s sounded cinematic row in this catalog: native audio on, 4–15 seconds, 1080p listed, 69 credits, text-to-video and reference-to-video on the published card. Seedance 2.5 is the longer single pass: native audio, 4–30 seconds, 720p listed, 47 credits, text-to-video. Seedance 2.0 Fast Reference to Video is the cheaper R2V door: native audio, 4–15 seconds, 720p, 25 credits, discounted, built to take reference images (and other references) so identity can travel.

T2V on Seedance will still invent a bottle if you only describe a bottle. It is a good inventor. Inventors are the enemy of a SKU. Legal signed a photograph. The site uses a photograph. The ad cannot show a prettier, almost-right carton.

Image-to-video and reference-to-video are the identity contracts:

    • I2V-shaped: the still is frame one. Composition, lighting, label placement already decided. Prompt motion, not a new pack. Use when the deliverable is that pack moving — a slow push, a turn that must not restage.
    • R2V-shaped: the still is a casting call for the object (or person). Scene may be new; the SKU should remain that SKU. Use when you need the same carton in a room you will not photograph. Do not feed a finished hero frame to R2V and ask it to “just add motion.” It will restage.

On this catalog, the published Seedance doors you can link are 2.0 (T2V + R2V), 2.0 Fast R2V, and 2.5 (T2V). If you are running an image-conditioned Seedance job, treat the still as mandatory in the brief even when you are on a row that also accepts text. The radio is “still owns the SKU,” not “Seedance in the abstract.”

Native audio is on for these rows. Write the sound: a soft table scrape, no invented VO claiming a medical result, room tone. Leaving audio unspecified means the model chooses a bed. A SKU hold can still fail on a soundtrack that overclaims. The picture holding is not permission for the audio to lie.

When this radio beats Veo or Kling

Veo is the dialogue row: 4 / 6 / 8 seconds, 4K listed, 40 credits, native audio. Use it when a person has to speak and eight seconds is enough. It is the wrong first pick when the hero is a carton that must match the PDP.

Kling Turbo is silent motion at 12 credits. Fine for a physics test. It will not hold a label better than a locked still will, and it will not speak. Kling O3 Pro will speak, at 70 credits, and will still invent a pack from text.

    Seedance is the pick when:

    • The object is the actor.
    • You have (or can make) a still that would pass a brand freeze-frame.
    • You need more than Veo’s 8 seconds of that object moving, or you need Seedance’s motion stability on a product.
    • You are willing to condition on the still (I2V or R2V), not on adjectives.

Seedance 2.5’s 30-second single pass is for a hold that should be one thought — a continuous table move — not for five new ideas. Thirty seconds of a morphing SKU is worse than eight seconds of a true one. Length does not fix identity. The still does.

Do not pick Seedance because a host blog called it Hollywood-grade. Pick it because this week the carton is the brief. If this week the brief is a joke told to camera, pick Veo. If this week the brief is a dance on a mascot, pick motion control after the mascot still is locked. SKU-hold is a product identity radio.

    How SKU identity actually fails

T2V: extra ingredients appear on the label, the cap changes colour, the count on the box becomes a different count. You will not catch it at 1× playback. Freeze.

I2V from a messy still: the still already had glare on the barcode, a hand covering the flavour, a 16:9 crop that cuts the word mark. Motion will not heal it. Recrop to the ratio you will ship (9:16 for TikTok) before you attach the still.

R2V used as fake I2V: you wanted frame-one fidelity and you got a new kitchen. Use the contract you mean.

Retries on T2V to “get the label closer”: you are sampling cousins. Stop. Make or pick a still. Spend the next credit on a conditioned row.

Hands on a SKU: if the conversion is a squeeze or a peel, a human may still be the better radio. Seedance can hold a pack that sits. It is not a promise about generated fingers. See the hands brief when the hands matter.

The AI video generator will run Seedance from a prompt with no image. That is allowed. It is not this week’s pick when the SKU must hold. Attach the plate.

    The Monday radio

    1. If the clip is a sellable object that must match a still: Seedance, still first.
    2. Crop the still to the output aspect. Audit the label on a freeze.
    3. Choose I2V-shaped (still is frame one) versus R2V-shaped (still is the object, scene may move). Use the published R2V row when the scene is new.
    4. Prompt motion and honest sound. Do not re-describe the pack as fiction.
    5. Freeze the output against the still. If the word mark drifted, do not extend. Fix the still or the contract.

When the SKU is locked and you need the sounded Seedance row, sign up and attach the plate before the prompt. The still is the contract. The model is the motion.

    FAQ

Can I T2V on Seedance 2.5 if I describe the pack carefully?

You can. You should not, if legal cares about the pack. Description is not a photograph. Use a still. 2.5’s 30-second ladder makes a morphing SKU last longer. That is not a feature.

Seedance versus a Kling I2V row for the same still?

Kling V3 Standard I2V is a published I2V row (image required, audio on, 3–15s, 63 credits). Use it when you specifically want that Kling motion. Pick Seedance when you want this family’s hold, audio, and (on 2.5) a longer single pass. Compare freeze-frames of the SKU, not brand lore.

What if I do not have a pack still?

Photograph it, or generate a still on an image row and approve it before any video credit. A generated still that passed audit is still a still. A T2V video used as a source of identity is a moving cousin.
