Marketplace extension listings already spent the icon-plus-screenshot row; this leftover is the theme token plate, which GPT Image 2 (4K, 4cr discounted) can letter — do not Omni a talking developer, and I2V is optional after the tokens hold.

A colour theme that converts is type a maintainer can proof at 100%: editor.background, editor.foreground, comment, keyword, string, function — the tokens as they will ship, hex values as they appear in the theme JSON, a plate a buyer can match against the live editor. It is not a cinematic coding session. It is not a Marketplace icon. Letter the tokens.

Marketplace already spent the icon-plus-screenshot row

A VS Code marketplace listing is an icon plus a screenshot row already owns the listing SKU: a 128×128 PNG icon and a gallery of editor stills with command names readable. That post is the card. This leftover is the token plate — the swatch sheet theme authors actually argue about in issues: scopes, colours, the contrast a reviewer will zoom.

Do not recycle that icon job onto a token table. An icon is eight to twelve words at tile size. A token plate is a grid of names and values that have to read as words. Mixing them is how a Marketplace tile becomes a mushy rainbow, and how a token sheet ships a cousin Command Palette.

Microsoft’s gallery images are typically 1280×800 or 640×480. The token plate still has to land in a box that size if you intend to upload it. Exact pixels. Not a 16:9 trailer frame cropped “close enough,” and not a talking-head thumbnail.

Capture the live editor if the tokens already hold and you only need a crop. If the live UI is unreadable, typeset a mock of the token sheet — not a host. Quote token names character for character. editor.background is not Editor BG. #1e1e1e is not “dark grey.”

GPT Image 2 letters the token plate

GPT Image 2 Text to Image is OpenAI’s high-fidelity stills row with strong prompt adherence, up to 4K. Category is text-to-image only. Four credits is the catalog call, and the row is discounted. audio is null. There is no duration. This row is the picture.

Write the plate: token names, hex strings, a flat layout, the theme name as it ships. Do not write camera moves. Pan and “then the developer smiles” belong on a video row after the tokens are right.

Text to image is the door. Name GPT Image 2 when the token list is the product. Cost is priced per model, shown before you confirm. A bare “make me a VS Code theme hero” is how you get a cinematic desk.

max_output_resolution is 4K. Scout cheaper if you only need a sketch. Keep 4K when someone will zoom a hex. Pick the aspect of the cut. Describing “vertical” on auto is how you get a 1:1 hero you then crop into a hole.

This slug is not an editor. Categories are text-to-image only. One hex change is an edit-image row, not another GPT Image 2 roll that re-samples the grid. Proof at 100%. One wrong character in a token name is a regenerate. Motion will not correct a misspelled scope.

Crop the plate; do not generate a new editor

/free-tools/image-cropper is Canvas and the File API on your machine. Draw a box, export the selected region at native pixels, download a PNG. Nothing is uploaded. No credit meter. Coordinates convert back to the image’s natural width and height; a crop from a 4000px still is those pixels, not the preview.

Use it when the tokens already hold and only the region is wrong: punch in on the keyword row, fit a 1280×800 gallery box, drop chrome that is not the SKU. Export is PNG. JPEG would soften the letterforms you just paid four credits to get.

Do not send the plate through an image-edit row with “close-up of the comment token.” You will get a restyled theme. Cropping is subtraction. If you already like a live screenshot, crop that file. GPT Image 2 is for the plate you do not have.

Do not Omni a talking developer

Gemini Omni Video will ingest a prompt plus optional references and invent a scene: 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 seconds, 4K listed, 9 credits. That is a video generate. It is not a token plate. A photoreal developer walking scopes on a cousin IDE is a presenter you did not cast.

    Do not:

    • Prompt “a senior engineer explains my dark theme.”
    • Storyboard six Omni shots and call it a Marketplace gallery.
    • I2V a muddy token sheet hoping motion will sharpen #1e1e1e.
    • Treat the Marketplace icon post as this leftover.

I2V is optional after the tokens hold. Image-to-video starts from an approved plate. Prompt a slow hold, no new scopes, no new hex. If the letters are wrong, every second is waste. Four credits on the stills row is the cheap diagnosis. A motion pass of a misspelled token is the expensive one.

The test is a pause at gallery size: can a buyer read the token names and the values? If the answer is a pretty laptop and a mouth, you made a brand film.

    FAQ

Can I put the token names in a video prompt so the IDE typesets itself?

No. A video row will invent scopes. Letter the plate on GPT Image 2 at 4 credits, 4K, discounted. Proof the characters. Motion, if any, is a later still-to-motion pass of an approved card.

Is this the same job as the Marketplace icon-plus-screenshot post?

No. That page is the 128×128 icon and the editor screenshot row. This leftover is the token plate — names and hex as type. Do not merge them in one generate.

Should I crop with a model so the gallery “looks designed”?

No. /free-tools/image-cropper maps a box to native pixels and writes a PNG. It never spends a credit. A generate asked to “zoom the tokens” restages the theme.

    When is image-to-video allowed?

After the tokens hold at 100%. I2V is optional. It does not invent a readable plate. Do not Omni a talking developer to narrate the hex.
