Burn a title card after the opening shot is the opening shot
A title card is add_video_captions used as a centered headline with a background block. Printing it on a miss, or before picture lock, typesets an intro you will recut.
There is no separate title-card engine. It is add_video_captions used on purpose: a centered line, a background block, a headline that reads as an intro rather than a caption. The tool's own description lists headline and branded badge jobs. For chapter marks that appear and leave, add_timestamped_captions is the better fit. Either way you are printing type on this opening. If the opening shot is still in taste, the card is a label on a door you will replace.
Add a title card to a video is the job. Same billing family as any add_video_captions render. It is a static composite, not a motion-graphics pack.
Intros assume a first frame
"Chapter One" on a take you will regen is a chapter of a draft. Duration matters: a card that holds the whole clip is a persistent headline. If you only wanted three seconds, you needed timing, which this simple use does not give you unless the clip is three seconds. Do not generate a 12-second miss, card it, then trim to 3. Trim the keeper opening, then card — or use timestamped captions on the locked full file.
Safe zone follows the crop. Card after 9:16 if 9:16 is the destination. A centered block that was fine on 16:9 can collide with chrome after a reframe.
The AI video generator makes the opening picture. The card is typesetting.
Order
- Lock the opening shot (and the crop).
- Decide persistent headline versus timed chapter.
- Burn once. Do not card every sample so they "look finished" in a review folder. Finished-looking misses survive too long.
FAQ
Can I get an animated intro pack?
Not from this tool. Static text and a block. If you needed motion graphics, that is a different generate, still later than locking the picture it introduces.
Should the card go on before music?
Type and music both wait. If the card is silent and the bed starts under it, attach the bed to the locked file that already has the card, or include both in one edit_video of keepers.
Is this the same as a hook clip?
No. A hook is often a different shot in front. Hooks are catalog or generated openers. A title card is type on the file you already have. Both wait.
Why not paint the title into the generate?
Because you will misspell it and you cannot edit the letters. Clean plate, then this overlay, after the plate is the plate.
