    Corner-mount a talking head after both plates are keepers

    create_ugc_video_overlay puts a required-position PiP on a single base video. Overlaying two maybes, or PiP before picture lock, composites a reaction to a take you will replace.

    create_ugc_video_overlay is the classic reaction layout: one base (gameplay, screen, product), one talking-head or reaction clip in a defined corner. position is required. No free-form pixels. remove_black_background only strips black on the overlay. A different overlay backdrop needs a real key first. compose_video_with_overlay is the fuller mixed-media cousin. This tool is the direct PiP. Direct is not early.

    Two files, two locks

    The base has to be the base. The face has to be the face. A new gameplay take and a new reaction take do not inherit the old corner composite. You will PiP again. Doing it first is how you fall in love with a layout of two files you will delete.

    Key the overlay on a locked talking clip if it needs a matte, then corner-mount onto a locked base. Keying a maybe, then PiP onto a maybe, is the background-removal leak plus this one.

    If you needed several bases plus an overlay, this is the wrong tool. Compose, later, with keepers.

    Order

    1. Sign the base. Sign the overlay performance.
    2. Key the overlay only if the backdrop demands it and only if that overlay is the overlay.
    3. PiP with a corner you meant.
    4. Caption the composite if the face is speaking. Captions on the overlay file alone will sit in the wrong rectangle.

    Do not treat PiP as a way to hide a weak base with a funny face. The face is small. The base is the shot.

    FAQ

    Can I move the PiP by a few pixels?

    No. Corners. If the product is in that corner, pick another corner, on a keeper whose product is not in all four.

    Should I resize the base to 9:16 before PiP?

    Reframe the destination first so the corner is the corner the phone will show. PiP on 16:9 then crop to 9:16 is how the head gets clipped. Crop the keeper base, then mount.

    Is a black-matte overlay enough to skip keying?

    If it is truly black, remove_black_background on this tool may suffice. If it is a room, key properly, later, on the signed overlay.

    Why is this later than generating UGC?

    Because UGC generation is sampling. PiP is a composite of two samples that have graduated.
