Cut out the still you will actually animate, not the rejected board

Photo cutouts go through generate_image_from_image (and sometimes remove_background). Erasing a rejected still, or erasing before the board is locked, spends an image edit on a tile you will not use.

There is no one-click photo eraser in Versely the way there is a black-matte video colorkey. remove_background is built for video. Stills go through generate_image_from_image with an instruction: remove the background, keep the subject, transparent plate. Edge quality varies by model and by wording. That is a billed image edit. Run it on a rejected board tile and you have a beautiful alpha of a product you will not animate.

Remove the background from a photo is the job. Priced per the image model you pick. estimate_cost before a batch. Text-to-image is often how the still was born. Cutout is how a keeper still becomes a layout.

The board is the first lock

Contact sheets and 2×2 grids are not cutout jobs until you know which cell is the cell. Split the grid if you must, then remove background on the winners. Cutouting all four tiles "so we can see them on white" is four image edits plus four upscales you will not need.

Hair and bottle edges are why you inspect the keeper at 100% after the edit, not why you run the edit on every maybe. Review the original still. If the identity is wrong, a clean alpha will not fix it.

Do not chain this after a model that already painted type into the picture unless you want the type in the cutout. Usually you wanted a clean product, type as overlay later.

Video is a different pipeline: remove a video background. Do not send a clip to the still tool.

    Order

    1. Approve the still (split a grid first if it is a grid).
    2. Prompt the image edit for a transparent (or specified) plate.
    3. Inspect edges. Then layout, then motion if any.

If you will image-to-video the cutout, lock the still and the plate it will sit on. Animating a rejected cutout is the leak in time.

    FAQ

Why isn't there a dedicated photo keyer?

Because the live path is a prompted image-edit model. Honest limitation. Still a later step.

Should I upscale before or after the cutout?

After you know this still is the still. Upscaling four rejected tiles then cutting them out is the enhance leak plus this one.

Can I batch every SKU on a supplier JPEG?

Split the sheet, pick the SKUs you will actually run, then cut out those. A nine-up JPEG is not nine keepers until you say so.

Does a transparent PNG mean I am ready to publish?

It means you have an alpha. Layout, type, and (for video) motion still wait. Do not treat cutout as the first step of a film.
