6 apps shops use for Meta creative
Ads Manager, Canva, CapCut, Versely, Photoroom, and Creatify cover Meta creative. Pick by placement, brand frame, still, motion, or UGC actor.
A shop running Meta ads does not need a production company. It needs files that survive Feed, Reels, and Stories, plus a still that is actually the SKU. Six apps cover that stack. Meta Ads Manager is the placement, the test, and the enhancements. Canva is the brand frame. CapCut is the 9:16 timeline. Versely is the UGC-style talking clip or a short packshot orbit. Photoroom is the listing still. Creatify is the actor-from-URL ad with a Meta launcher. This page is that list. It is not "Meta ads course 2026." It is not a Versely catalog.
Upload native 9:16 when you can. Advantage+ will crop or expand what you give it. That is a backup, not a brief.
What Meta creative actually has to survive
Meta creative is not "a video." It is a file that has to live in more than one hole.
Reels and Stories want 9:16. Feed often wants 4:5. In-stream still likes 16:9. Meta's Advantage+ Creative help (read 20 September 2026) describes video touch-ups that crop or use generative expansion so a clip can fit 9:16 or 4:5. Expansion can cover the first 15 seconds. If your CTA sits in the bottom 35 percent, Reels UI will sit on it. Safe area is a shop problem even when the model is pretty.
The still in the catalog is a photograph of the unit. Photoroom or a camera. A generated lifestyle plate is a Reel, not a MAIN.
The talking file is optional. Some shops never show a face. Some need a UGC-style presenter because the owner will not go on camera. That is Versely or Creatify, with a disclosure, not a fake review.
The test is inside the account. Meta's creative test (read 20 September 2026) runs 2 to 7 copies in an existing Highest volume campaign, with a suggested cap of 20 percent of the current budget on the test ads. Shops that skip this and "just boost the Reel" are not testing. They are hoping.
The six apps
1. Meta Ads Manager. This is the default because it is where the file has to work. You set placements, copy, the creative test, and Advantage+ Creative toggles. Advantage+ Creative can touch up images, add overlays, animate stills, and expand video. Marketing API docs for individual Advantage+ features were updated 28 June 2026. Preview what you can. Turn off the enhancements that rewrite your claim. Ads Manager also applies an AI info label (read 20 September 2026) when it detects some Meta or third-party generative edits. You will not remove that label. Build the creative as if a buyer can open About this ad. Ads Manager is not a design tool. It is the last door. Shops that try to design the ad only inside Ads Manager end up with a cropped packshot and a headline that Advantage+ rewrote.
2. Canva. This is the default if the shop already makes the poster in Canva. Brand kit, 4:5 and 9:16 resizes, a short AI clip on the same canvas. Independent reads of Canva's 2026 AI allowance (The Rundown, 29 August 2026; Moda, 9 September 2026) give Pro about $144 a year and a shared monthly pool: up to 2,000 Standard, 200 Premium, or 20 Ultra AI uses. Image-to-video is Premium. High-quality video is Ultra. Twenty Ultra clips is a ceiling if you spend the bucket on nothing else. For a shop that needs one branded 9:16 a week, Canva is enough. For a catalog of motion SKUs, it is not. Keep Canva for the frame even when the MP4 comes from CapCut or Versely. The logo and the type you might change next Tuesday belong on a layer, not in generated pixels.
3. CapCut. This is the default if anyone on staff will shoot, or if you need captions. Phone clip in, jump cuts, auto captions, 9:16 out. CapCut's AI video generator will animate a product still when you did not shoot. The June 2026 CapCut PC walkthrough is the shop version: one still, several ad angles, then the timeline. A 16 September 2026 Seedance 2.5 tutorial is launch-prep for a longer pass, not a guarantee on every seat. Free covers a weekly Reel. You stay because export and captions are the same app as the generate. You leave when the still needed a white-sweep cutout Photoroom already did better, or when the talking head needed an actor library.
4. Versely. Versely sits here because a shop often has one decent photo and two Meta files to make: a talking UGC-style ad, and a silent packshot loop. The talking file is the UGC video generator. The silent loop is Hailuo 2.3 Fast on image-to-video: 12 credits at 6s discounted (23 full), 23 at 10s (45 full). If the open is a named trend from a staff selfie, Finger Snap is about 18 credits discounted (35 full). The wider picker is the AI video generator when the brief is a generated shot rather than a template. Versely will not replace Ads Manager. It will not be your MAIN image pipeline. It is the app when the shop needs a 9:16 file this afternoon and would rather pick a UGC path or a motion row than book a creator.
5. Photoroom. This is the default if the product is the star and the stockroom is ugly. Photoroom's pricing page (read 20 September 2026) still gates Video Generator off Pro. Max includes up to 50 video generations. Ultra includes up to 150. Core cutout, retouch, and background tools are on Pro without burning the video pool. A shop that needs a white bag still for the catalog lives on Pro. A shop that also wants the bag to turn lives on Max, or on Pro plus CapCut, or on Pro plus Versely Hailuo. Do not buy Max for video if CapCut will animate the cutout you already exported. Do not send a dirty back-room still into Meta and hope Advantage+ crop saves it.
6. Creatify. Open Creatify when the Meta ad is supposed to look like a talking creator and you have a product URL. Creatify's pricing (read 20 September 2026) lists Starter at $39 a month (100 credits, 300 AI actors) and Pro at $99 (300 credits default, 1,500 actors, Ad Clone, competitor tracker, Ad Launcher for Meta / TikTok / AppLovin). Free is 10 credits, watermark on. The launcher is not a substitute for Ads Manager. You still set the campaign, the pixel, the creative test. Creatify is the talking file. Shops that skip Photoroom and generate the SKU inside the actor scene get a pretty ad for a bottle they do not ship.
How to pick for a shop ad account
Write the asset, not the app.
- Native 9:16 from phone footage: CapCut, then Ads Manager.
- Branded frame you already use: Canva, with or without a generated clip.
- White still of the unit: Photoroom Pro. Motion later, if at all.
- Talking UGC-style presenter: Versely UGC generator, or Creatify if the URL-to-actor seat is the one you want to pay.
- Silent pack loop: Versely Hailuo, CapCut I2V, or Photoroom Max video.
- Which file wins: Ads Manager creative test, Highest volume, 2 to 7 copies, small budget slice.
Two apps is a shop. Photoroom plus CapCut covers stills and Reels. Canva plus CapCut covers brand and timeline. CapCut plus Ads Manager is the minimum paid stack. Add Versely or Creatify when nobody will talk on camera. Add all six and you will forget which login owns the 9:16.
A videographer is still cheaper than six unused seats if you only need four films a year. The six apps win when the cadence is weekly and the files are small.
After you upload
Preview every placement. A 1:1 packshot that Advantage+ expands for 15 seconds is not the same as a native 9:16 you made on purpose.
Proof the label at 100 percent after motion. Type in the pixels will crawl. If the price changes on Tuesday, burn it as a caption.
AI info labels can appear on generative ads. Social-issue and political ads have a harder AI disclosure. A shop selling soap still should not fake a customer.
When the file is a UGC-style clip or a pack orbit, sign up and run the generator or Hailuo. When the file is footage you shot, stay in CapCut. The list is six apps. The ad account is one.
FAQ
Should I let Advantage+ rewrite my 9:16?
Preview first. Crop and brightness are often fine. Generative expansion and overlays can hide the CTA or invent pixels around a label. Native 9:16 you made in CapCut or Canva beats a 1:1 you hoped Meta would fix.
Where does Versely fit if I already pay for Canva and CapCut?
On the generate you do not want to prompt. UGC talking clips. A cheap Hailuo orbit. A Finger Snap when the open is a trend. Canva keeps the frame. CapCut keeps the timeline. Ads Manager keeps the spend.
Is Creatify's Meta launcher enough without Ads Manager?
No. A launcher can push a file. The campaign, the test, the pixel, and the enhancements still live in Ads Manager. Treat Creatify as the talking creative. Treat Ads Manager as the account.
