Apparel OEM: tech pack stills, not a runway Omni film

Image-to-video keeps your upload as frame one. Labels, stitch colour, and the silhouette you signed off survive the generate because they are in the file, not in a paragraph. A tech pack is not a moodboard

Omni is a stack, not a substitute still

An image is not required to press generate. That is the tell. A runway Omni film with no garment photo in the stack is a mood. A factory cannot cut from a mood.

Omni's reference budget is arithmetic: images + videos×2 + character_ids ≤ 7. Dumping seven fashion stills of "the vibe" still misses the SKU if the tech pack photo is not one of them. One approved garment still is an I2V job. Seven moods is how you blow the quota and ship the wrong sleeve.

Do not send a talking presenter to I2V and hope the mouth is the point. Do not prompt a blank runway and call it a tech pack. If you are iterating the design in video, you are paying the expensive end of the pipeline to do stills work.

What clothing brands already know

Clothing brands need to see the fabric move. The try-on with walking and turning answers fit; a flat-lay reused as b-roll does not. OEM content is the same physics with less glamour: a sewn sample turning so a buyer sees drape, a fabric macro that actually belongs to that mill, two or three styling stills of the same piece if you have them.

Can I use Omni if I attach the tech pack as a reference?

You can attach it. Omni is still a multimodal clip with a 10-second ceiling and a 7-slot budget, and an image is optional — which is how teams skip the still. If the job is "this exact sample, moving," Seedance 2.5 I2V is the row that requires the still and will hold it for a longer pass.

Why not generate the garment from a spec sheet in text-to-video?

Do I need a model in the still?

Is 720p enough for a wholesale line sheet video?
