I2V. Midjourney wrap designs are concept art, not the job. The wrap a shop sells sits on a specific body: this cab, this colourway, this wheelbase. A pretty still of an invented van is a moodboard. It is not the vehicle in the bay.
Photograph the car you will wrap, or the car you already wrapped. Animate that photograph. Do not animate a cousin.
The vehicle in the bay is the brief
A wrap quote is a VIN, a panel list, and a design that has to sit on those panels without stretching the mark across a door handle that does not exist. Text-to-video does not know the door handle. It will invent a stock SUV with a melted logo and a wheel that is not on the work order.
Image-to-video starts from the file you upload. Frame one is the still. Body lines, existing paint, the shop floor, the wrap that is already on the panels — those survive because they were already pixels. The prompt is camera and physics: a slow orbit, a light rake across vinyl, a hold on the side mark. Re-describing "a wrapped commercial van at golden hour" is how the model starts drawing a second van.
Seedance 2.5 Image to Video is the still-to-motion row for that plate: first frame required, four to thirty seconds in one pass, native audio, 720p ceiling, optional last frame when you have a second approved photo — unwrapped in, wrapped out, same angle, same vehicle. A last frame is control. It is not a default. If you only have the finished wrap, one still and a slow move is the job.
If the still would not go in the job folder, do not buy seconds. Crop the hoist. Do not prompt it out and hope the model rebuilds the quarter panel.
Midjourney is a wrap sketch, not a wrap
Midjourney V7 is a stills row: ten credits, text-to-image, photorealistic and artistic, no duration, no vehicle identity. That is the right tool for a concept board — "what if this livery were teal" — before anyone has taped a panel. It is the wrong tool for the proof of install.
A Midjourney wrap is a drawing of a car the shop does not have. The client may love it. The installer cannot wrap it. Shipping that still as "the job" is how a feed ad shows a body that never entered the booth.
If you needed a designed lockup off the vehicle — a door mark as a poster, a fleet wordmark — that is still a stills job, and it is a later composite, not a replacement for the bay photo. Do not treat the concept PNG as frame one for image-to-video unless you are willing to sell that invented car.
Motion from the photo, not a second car
When the brief is "this wrapped vehicle, moving," stay on I2V. Prompt only the move. Leave make, model, and the slogan out of the paragraph; they are already in the still. Repeating them is how Seedance starts renegotiating the lettering.
When the brief is "our wrapped truck in a place we did not shoot," that is a different door: the AI product video generator runs reference-to-video off photographs of the actual vehicle. Two or three clean angles — front, three-quarter, the side that carries the mark — are the contract. The mountain can be invented. The body cannot. Check the wrap at 100% before you keep a take.
Do not feed a Midjourney concept into that reference set and call it the truck. References are ground truth. Concept art is not.
A wrap that exists only in Midjourney is a sketch. A wrap that exists on a photographed body is the job.
FAQ
Can I I2V a Midjourney wrap still if the client already signed it?
You can generate it. You should not ship it as the install. The signed concept is art direction. The bay photo is the vehicle. Animate the vehicle.
Do I need a last frame from unwrapped to wrapped?
Only when both stills are photographs of the same vehicle, same camera height, and the shot is meant to travel between them. A single finished-wrap hero with a slow rake is the usual clip.
Why not text-to-video the wrap so I do not have to shoot the lot?
Because text-to-video will pick a different lot. Body lines, wheel spec, and the existing paint are the expensive failure. The photograph is the cheap place to lock them.
Can the shop logo be prompted onto the wrap in I2V?
No. Lettering on vinyl is already in the still, or it is a later overlay. Asking the motion row to typeset the mark is how you get a cousin logo on a cousin van.
