Extend the music, not the picture

Extend a Suno track with extend_music. Veo extend (7s, 720p, 40cr) lengthens picture, not the bed.

Extend the track. Extend a music track (extend_music) continues a previously generated Suno song from a chosen point, referenced by audioId. VEO 3.1 Extend Video is 7 seconds, 720p, native audio, 40 credits — more picture, not more bed. If the ad is long and the song faded, extend the song. If you run Veo extend to “cover the chorus,” you pay 40 credits for a 720p tail and a new performance, and the chorus still ends.

This page is music length versus picture length. It is not how to extend an 8s Veo clip as a picture decision.

    extend_music is a Suno continuation

The task: continue a track you already generated, from or near continueAt. Pull audioId from get_generation_history or fetch_user_generations on the prior generate_music result. Prompt and style should match the original if you want a seam, not a new genre.

    Limits:

    • Requires a Versely generate_music Suno track. You cannot extend an arbitrary uploaded MP3 on this tool.
    • Billed per extension, separate from the original song. Ask for estimate_cost.
    • Consistency depends on how close prompt/style stay to the first generate.

Suno Sounds V5.5 is 2 credits on the generate family. Extending is how a 15-second bed covers a 30-second assembly without a second unrelated loop that slams at the join.

Then attach with add music to video in mix if the picture already talks. Replace if the picture is silent and the song is the soundtrack. If the extended track grew a vocal you did not want under UGC speech, split stems and mix the instrumental.

Looping the first generate is not an extend. A hard cut back to bar one is audible. Continuation is the point of audioId.

If you needed a different mood for the last five seconds, say so in the extend prompt. If you needed a different song, generate a new track. Extend is not “make it dubstep now” on a folk bed unless you accept a visible seam.

Veo extend is 7s of picture at 720p

Veo 3.1 tops out at 8 seconds, 4K, native audio, 40 credits. The extend row adds 7s at 720p, native audio, 40 credits. The generate can be 4K. The tail is 720p. You are not buying a longer 4K master. You are buying more shot, with a resolution drop, and a new native-audio performance on that tail.

That is the right row when the picture is too short: the pour does not finish, the walk does not land, the pack never holds. It is the wrong row when the picture is enough and the MP3 ended.

Google’s Omni 1.1 Flash (27 August 2026) extends in 10-second increments to 40 seconds cumulative on Google’s surface. Versely does not publish gemini-omni-1-1-flash. Do not expect Veo extend to behave like that blog post. Seven seconds, 720p, one increment here.

Grok Imagine Extend is 8 credits, 2–10s, audio false. Also picture. Also not a bed.

Extend video length is the editing-job door for picture extend. Do not open it because the Suno file is 12 seconds and the timeline is 25.

Native audio on a Veo tail may invent more speech or more baked score. That can fight a bed you already mixed. Picture-extend after a mixed bed means you re-mix. Music-extend after a locked picture means you re-attach. Cheaper to extend the cheaper object.

    Match the short thing

    Ask which file is short:

    • Song short, picture fine → extend_music. Re-attach. Recaption only if you change speech (you should not).
    • Picture short, song fine → video extend or a new generate or a storyboard of two shots. Looping a 6-second pack under a 40-second song is an edit (repeat the hold, freeze, or cut to stills), not a 40-credit Veo tail, unless you need new motion.
    • Both short → decide the deliverable length first. A 15-second Reel is often a longer bed on a locked 8-second take plus a still hold, not two Veo extends.

Slideshow convert: duration_per_image × N is the picture length. Extend the music to that product. Do not I2V each slide to match a 3-minute song.

Do not Veo-extend to create “room for captions.” Captions sit on existing frames. If you needed more time to read type, hold the last frame in the editor or lengthen the slideshow hold.

Extend the file that actually ended

The test: mute the video. Does the picture still finish the job? If yes, the song is the short file. Unmute a still last frame. If the music dies first, extend_music. If the picture dies first and you still need motion, then and only then the 7s / 720p / 40cr card.

Flux 3 extend-video is 21 credits, 5–20s, native audio true — also picture, also not a bed. Grok Imagine Extend is 8 credits, audio false — picture without even a soundtrack promise. Opening either because the music ended is the same category error as opening Veo extend. Read the category on the card: extend-video versus extend_music.

If the picture is a slideshow convert, changing duration_per_image lengthens the video without a generate. That is often enough for a 6-card reel that outran a 12-second bed: extend the music to 6 × hold, or shorten the hold. Do not I2V card three to “fill.” Do not Veo-extend a convert MP4 and hope the slides continue; you will get new motion on a baked render.

After extend_music, listen to the join at 1×. If the drum pattern resets as a new intro, your continueAt was too early or the prompt drifted. Retry the extend; do not paper over it with a video crossfade. The picture was not the problem.

If you need a seat to continue the Suno bed without buying a Veo tail, sign up. Bring the audioId. Point continueAt at the fade.

    FAQ

    Can I extend any MP3 with extend_music?

No. It needs a prior generate_music Suno audioId. Uploaded or third-party tracks are not a source for this tool.

Why not always extend Veo so picture and audio grow together?

Veo extend is 7s, 720p, 40 credits, new native audio on the tail. It is a picture purchase. A bed that ended is a music purchase. Native audio on the tail may not be the bed you had.

The picture is an 8s Veo and I need 30s. Extend three times?

This catalog’s Veo extend is a 7s increment at 720p, 40 credits, not Omni’s 40s chain. For a 30s single pass look at rows that list 30s (Seedance 2.5 lists 4–30s at 720p, 47 credits) or assemble holds and stills. Do not assume three Veo extends equal a 30s 4K master.
