Pool builders: hole-to-water first-last on the same site
Two site photos. Not a generated backyard.
Two site photos. Not a generated backyard. Hole-to-water is a transformation of one address. Text-to-video will give you a prettier yard that is not the yard you built. Clients who live there notice. So do neighbours.
Create a first-and-last-frame transition is the job: attach the hole, attach the water, get the interpolate that opens on the first and lands on the second. Home builders already have the same arc — foundation to finish — and the same failure when they wait for the walkthrough and throw away the hole. Photograph the dirt. Photograph the water. Then spend the video credit.
The hole and the water are the same lot
First-last frame takes two stills and generates the motion between them. The two frames have to be plausibly connectable. Same standing mark, same lens height, same time of day if you can get it. A wide of the excavation and a phone still of a waterfall from the opposite corner is not hole-to-water. It is a warp, and the warp is what people rewind for the wrong reason.
Lock the tripod, or lock a mark on the patio. Shoot the hole. Come back to the same mark when it holds water. That pair is the brief. A prompt that says "luxury backyard pool reveal, cinematic drone, twilight" is a different property.
First-last as the product-turn model is the same contract: the object must survive as itself. Here the object is the site. The water is the other side of the pack. The interpolate is not allowed to move the house, invent a second deck, or widen the lot.
A generated backyard is a listing for a house you do not have
Image-to-video from one still of the hole will invent the finish. That is a guess. Sometimes it is close. Close is how you get a coping colour the client did not buy and a fence that is not theirs. Re-rolling the paragraph does not add a contract. It adds more invented yards.
Text-to-video from no still is worse. It decides the lot and the water together. Useful for stock mood. Useless as proof of this build.
If you do not have the finished still yet, you are not in hole-to-water yet. You are in process. Home builders start filming at foundation so the time-lapse exists. Pool work is the same discipline: the hole is the before you cannot reconstruct later without lying. Do not ask a model to reconstruct it. Same angle, before and after. Mismatched framing is why a real transformation fails to read as one.
Prompt the travel, inspect the middle
Once both site photos are attached:
- Describe only the move. Locked-off fill. No handheld. No new house. No extra furniture the stills do not show.
- Keep duration short enough that the interpolate is a state change, not a weather documentary. First-last does not owe you thirty seconds.
- Inspect the midpoint. Ends are held by construction. The middle is where a generator grows a second diving board or melts the far fence. Reroll the motion, not the stills, unless a still was the lie.
- Generate the ratio you will ship. First-last inherits the composition of the stills. A 16:9 hole squeezed into 9:16 loses the waterline you pinned.
Split the file if you also need a talking builder. First-last will try to interpolate a face and a lot at once and will do neither well. Process talk is a real person on camera, which is what the builder surface already films.
Cost is priced per model and shown before you confirm. That number is for this interpolation. It is not a budget to also invent the missing finished plate inside the same call.
The site test
Do I know the start picture and the end picture, and is the point to travel between them without inventing a new yard?
Yes → first-last. Hole. Water. Same mark.
I only have the finished water, and I want a hole → wait for the next job, or admit you are making a beauty clip, not a transformation. Do not generate the excavation of a real address.
I want a lifestyle extra in the water → shoot them, or skip them. A generated swimmer is a private-figure problem if you referenced a real person. The pool is the proof.
The expensive mistake is treating the reveal as a better prompt. It is not. Hole and water are the inputs. Paragraphs invent a different lot.
FAQ
Can I text-to-video the finished pool if I describe the real address?
You will get a pool. It will not be that pool often enough to show the owners. Two site photos are the spec. A paragraph is not a spec for a lot.
Do both frames have to be photographs, not renders?
They have to be the site you are willing to publish. Real photos are the honest path. A sales render as frame B is a different product than the pour. If the stills disagree about the coping, the interpolate will hallucinate a compromise.
Is this the same as a loop for a homepage hero?
A loop is first-last with the same frame in both slots. Hole-to-water is two different frames of the same site. Same endpoint, different job. Use the loop when idle water needs to cycle. Use the transition when the buyer needs to see the hole become the water.
What if the finished shot has to be a drone move?
Shoot matching stills from the same heading, or split the file: interpolate the locked-off pair, cut to real aerial of the finished water. Do not ask one interpolate to be hole-to-water and a large altitude change. Unrelated plates warp.
