Stump grinding is a first-last: stump, then dirt

Two photos. Interpolate. Do not generate a new yard. The job is one address: the stump you actually cut, then the chips and dirt that replaced it. A text-to-video "after" is a prettier lot that is not the lot you worked. The homeowner still sees their fence line.

Photograph the stump before it is gone

Crews already shoot the before for the quote and the grind for the invoice. Those two files are the brief. "Cinematic time-lapse of a stump vanishing, drone over a suburban lawn" is a different street.

First-last frame is a bounded travel. Ordinary image-to-video knows where it starts and improvises the rest. Dirt is the destination. If you never attach that plate, there is nothing to land on.

The two frames have to be connectable. Same standing mark, same lens height, same side of the trunk. A phone still from the driveway and a drone still of the finished bed from the alley is a warp, not a grind. Lock your feet. Shoot the stump. Come back to the same mark when it is chips.

Dirt is frame two, not a generated lawn

Text-to-video from no still decides the yard and the grind together. Useful as stock. Useless as proof of this removal. Image-to-video from only the stump invents the finish: a new hedge, a patio nobody poured, a second tree the client still has.

If you do not have the dirt still yet, you are not in stump-then-dirt yet. The stump is the before you cannot reconstruct later without lying.

First-last as the product-turn model is the same contract: the object must survive as itself. Here the object is the lot. The interpolate is not allowed to move the house or widen the property.

Four, six, or eight seconds of grind, not a new yard

Eight seconds is the ceiling, not a Reels quota. A short travel between two honest site photos reads as proof. A padded eight seconds invents weather in the middle. Inspect the midpoint. If it grows a phantom crew, reroll the interpolation, not the stills.

A silent grind you will score later still gets a soundtrack if you do not refuse it. Say no music, or replace the bed. If the mouth is the shot, split the file.

The yard test

Do I know the start picture and the end picture, and is the point to travel between them without inventing a new yard?

Yes → first-last. Stump. Dirt. Same mark. Run the agent job once.

I only have the stump → that is turn a photo into a video. Do not publish it as the finished grind.

I do not have the dirt photo yet → wait. A generated "after" is a different yard.

Atmosphere on the finished bed can be a later still-to-motion pass of frame B. It is not a substitute for the interpolate.

FAQ

Can I text-to-video the finished yard if I describe the real address?

You will get a yard. It will not be that yard often enough to show the owners. Two site photos are the spec. A paragraph is not a spec for a lot.

Does VEO First Last Frame work from a single stump photo?

No. The catalog requires an image and describes the job as generating between first and last frames. One still is half a contract. Use a plain image-to-video row if you only own the start. Use this row when you own both ends.

Do both frames have to be the same standing spot?

Yes. Same site, same lens family, same mark. Unrelated plates will connect, and the connection is the artefact everyone rewinds. The agent job will not rescue a mismatched pair.

Why not always take 8s and 4K?

Because 8s is the ceiling, not a free upgrade, and 4K is a quality on the list, not a default you owe every take. A grind that finishes in two seconds looks padded at eight. Spend 4K when the plate is a hero. The waste is the wrong job, not the badge.
