This page is a sum, not a render
The tool solves the missing side. Lock width, get height. Lock height, get width. The common video and social ratios are listed with the pixel sizes that actually get used, so you copy a real size rather than deriving one that ends on a half-pixel.
The table is the brief:

9:16 at 1080×1920 is the safe default across TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Going higher than 1080 wide is rarely worth it for those apps — they re-encode on upload, so the extra pixels are discarded and you have only made the upload slower. That is a delivery fact, not a reason to generate a larger plate "just in case."

Even numbers are the codec, not a style
Most video codecs encode in blocks and expect even pixel dimensions. Several refuse an odd width or height outright. That is why standard sizes are all even, and why deriving a dimension arithmetically can produce a number a perfectly good encoder then rejects. The calculator rounds a derived side to even rather than to nearest, so the number you copy is one an encoder will take.
That rounding is still not a generate. It is round(n / 2) * 2. Do not ask a model to "fix the odd width." You will get a new picture.
If you already have the still and only the box is wrong, the sibling job is the image resizer: exact pixels or a platform preset, cover or stretch, still zero credits. The calculator tells you the target. The resizer applies it. Neither invents the subject.
Credits start when pixels are invented
/cost groups structurally different credit formulas: per second, per thousand characters, per megapixel, per job. Aspect arithmetic is not one of them. A video generate that you sized to 9:16 is billed as video, because the model drew frames. The ratio was a setting. It was not the thing you should have paid for.
Length is a dial on image-to-video. Aspect is a property of the still or a choice on the generate. Mixing those — "I don't know the height, generate until it looks vertical" — is how you buy motion to solve a missing integer.
If the deliverable must be 9:16, decide 1080×1920 first, then generate in that box, or generate wide and resize with cover. Do not discover the ratio at upload. Do not pay a second model to "reframe" a still the canvas will crop for free unless you actually need a different composition, not a different box.
