A coater's customer is buying a chip, not a camera move. If the still is the wrong red, every second of orbit is the wrong red with a soundtrack. Lock the swatch on an image row. Animate only the winner.
Color lives on a still row
Generate options as images. One prompt family, one lighting setup, one part — change only the coat. Approve against a physical chip or a named standard, not against a vibe word.
Flux 2 Pro is the catalog text-to-image row billed at 3 credits, professional / high-quality, aspects 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4. It does not have its own /models page; the published Flux 2 family page is Flux 2 Max (7 credits, photorealistic, ultra-high-quality, detailed). Use Pro to iterate chips. Spend Max when the still has to look like a photo of a coated part, not a sketch of one.
Seedream 5.0 Pro is the other still row: 7 credits, text-to-image, 2K quality listed, aspects including 21:9 through 9:16. Features named typography, multilingual text, dense layouts. Reach for it when the option sheet itself is a labeled card — chip name, sheen, code — because that type has to be readable before anyone buys motion.
Text-to-image is the door. Do not start in video to "see the color in motion." Motion will not correct a hue.
I2V the chosen still, not a new part
Once one chip is signed off, that file is frame one. Describe only the motion: slow orbit, light sliding across a texture, a rack pulling out. Do not rename the color in the video prompt.
The image-to-video row on Seedance 2.5 is the hold: required still, first frame plus optional last frame, native audio, 4s–30s, 480p / 720p, listed 47 credits, resolution-based per second. Catalog copy: one frame into continuous motion without stitching shorter clips. If the shot must end on a square-on chip, set that as the last frame.
720p is the ceiling on this family. That is enough for a texture pass. It is not a reason to skip the still. A 30s miss of the wrong orange is billed as a long video job.
Image-to-video keeps the upload as the opening frame. Labels, faces, and layout survive because they were already in the file. Powder coat is the same rule with a lower tolerance: chroma is the layout.
Do not typeset the code in the generate
RAL names, sheen ("satin", "matte"), and "not for food contact" lines are editor text. Generate a clean part. Burn the code with timed text overlays or a single text overlay. Then you can swap "Traffic White" for the next SKU without regenerating the metal.
On-screen text in generated video is why the code does not belong in the Seedance prompt. Keeping a physical SKU believable is the same gate for a coated part as for a bottle.

Can I I2V every color option and pick later?
You can. You will pay video rates to discover a still fact. Generate the sheet on Flux 2 Pro or Seedream. I2V the chosen chip. That is the cost shape.
Why Seedance instead of Vidu for the orbit?
If the job is a short close with native audio and the color is already locked in a 1080p-class still, Vidu Q3's 5 / 10 / 15 ladder exists. If the part and the coat have to hold across a longer single pass, Seedance I2V is the row that lists first/last frame and 4s–30s without stitching.
Will Flux invent a gloss the chip does not have?
Treat every still as a proof. Compare to the physical chip in the same light. If gloss is wrong, fix it on the image row. I2V will faithfully move whatever you feed it.
Do I need Movie Mode for a "factory story"?
Only if the client bought a chained film. A color option for a quote is a still plus a texture pass. Movie Mode is a different object.
