The formula
credits = music_price + (clip_tier_price × clips), clips = ceil(song_seconds ÷ 6)- music_price
- a flat 2 credits on Suno Sounds V5.5 — the same rate whatever the song's length, genre or lyrics.
- clip_tier_price × clips
- 14 credits per 6-second clip on Hailuo 2.3 Fast's tiered rate, repeated once per clip needed to cover the track — the term that actually decides the bill.
- clips
- the song's length divided by the clip length, rounded up — a 3-minute song needs 30 six-second clips, a 30-second teaser needs 5.
Worked example — A 60-second music video — one track, 10 clips at 6s each
- 1.music: 2 credits, flat
- 2.clips: 10 × 14 = 140 credits
- 3.2 + 140
= 142 credits
Why the track barely matters and the clips do
Versely's own quick tool for this renders a simple waveform visualizer over a finished track — fast, and cheap because it isn't generating any picture at all. A real music video, cut scene to scene against the song the way an actual video does, is a different job: one generated track feeding many short video clips, chained through the AI video generator rather than the one-tool visualizer.
Once you're in that territory, the music stops mattering financially. Suno Sounds V5.5 charges a flat 2 credits whether the song is 30 seconds or three minutes — the entire cost of the job is the clips, and there can be a lot of them.
The video model choice compounds across every one of those clips, which is why it dwarfs everything else on this page. The same 60-second cut is 142 credits on a budget tiered model and 1,562 on a premium per-second one — the music charge is identical in both.
Song length to clips, and two video-model builds
Every figure below is computed from Versely's live price matrix — the same matrix the app quotes you from before it charges. These are prices, not verdicts: the buyer's guides are where models get ranked.
Song length to clips needed, at 6 seconds per clip
Using Hailuo 2.3 Fast's 14-credit tier for the clips and Suno Sounds V5.5's flat rate for the track.
| Song length | Clips needed | Video cost | + music | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30s | 5 | 70 | 2 | 72 |
| 60s | 10 | 140 | 2 | 142 |
| 90s | 15 | 210 | 2 | 212 |
| 180s | 30 | 420 | 2 | 422 |
The music line never changes across this table — it's flat. Every credit of difference between rows is clips.
A 60-second video — budget clips versus premium clips
Same track, same length, same clip count. Only the video model changed.
| Build | Video model | Clip cost | Music | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tiered budget | Hailuo 2.3 Fast | 140 | 2 | 142 |
| Premium per-second | Minimax H3 Text to Video | 1,560 | 2 | 1,562 |
11× apart, entirely from the clip model — the 2-credit music line is identical on both rows.
What changes an AI music video's bill
The video model, applied across every clip
The dominant lever by a wide margin — 11× between the two 60-second builds above, from clips alone.
Song length
Directly proportional through the clip count — a 3-minute cut needs 30 clips against a 60-second cut's 10.
The music track itself
Flat and close to free — 2 credits whatever the song's length or complexity.
The simple waveform-visualizer route instead
The simple waveform-visualizer tool skips the clips entirely — far cheaper, at the cost of not being a scene-cut video at all.
What this build leaves out
- The simple waveform/visualizer alternative, which has no per-clip cost because it generates no scenes.
- Extending or re-generating the track after the clips are already cut to it.
- Captions, lyric text overlays or the final editor export, each priced on its own page.
How many music videos a month of credits buys
A Monthly plan's 580 credits covers 4 sixty-second music videos on the tiered budget build — or 0.4 on the premium one.

Frequently asked questions
Does a longer song cost more in music generation?+
No — Suno Sounds V5.5 bills a flat 2 credits regardless of the track's length. Everything that scales with song length is the clips, not the music.
What's the cheapest way to turn a song into a video?+
The built-in waveform visualizer — it renders no scenes, so there's no per-clip cost at all. This page prices the alternative: an actual scene-cut video built from the AI video generator.
Why does the video model matter so much more here than the music model?+
Because the clip charge repeats once per clip and the music charge doesn't repeat at all. A 3-minute song needs 30 clips; the track is still one flat charge.
Can I reuse the same clips across multiple songs?+
Each clip generation is its own charge tied to its own prompt — reusing footage is an editing decision made afterward, not a discount on the generation itself.
Does adding lyrics change the price?+
Writing lyrics with generate_lyrics is a text step with no video-model cost attached; it feeds into the same flat-rate music generation once you're happy with the words.
Different job, different arithmetic
These are not variations on the formula above — each one meters something else entirely.
What does a finished 30-second AI ad cost end to end?
credits = (image_price × shots) + (video_rate × seconds) + ceil(chars ÷ 1,000 × 12) + (lipsync_rate × seconds) + exportIt sums four unrelated meters, so no single rate predicts the total.
What does a 7-second clip cost when the model sells 6s and 10s?
credits = price( smallest tier ≥ your duration )It sells duration in whole tiers, so an extra second can cost as much as the previous six.
What do music and sound effects cost for one video?
credits = audio_gen_price × (music_tracks + sound_effects)It adds a handful of flat audio charges, exactly the additive alternative to a native-audio model's per-second toggle.
Which model should I actually pick?
This page prices the job. The buyer's guides rank the models, with the sort criterion stated on every one.
