6 apps for keeping aspect sets in sync
CapCut, Canva, Opus Clip, Versely, Descript, and Later keep 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 in sync. Resize, reframe, generate per ratio, then post the right file.
An aspect set is the same idea in 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9, still the same idea. Six apps keep that set from drifting. CapCut resizes a timeline. Canva Magic Switch resizes a design. Opus Clip's ReframeAnything follows the subject into 9:16, and on Pro into 1:1 and 16:9. Versely generates at the ratio you will ship, then captions after. Descript holds a layout per sequence so the square is not a panicked crop of the vertical. Later is where you attach the right file to the right network. This page is that list. It is not "best aspect ratio 2026." It is not a Versely model table.
Versely is not a scheduler and it is not Magic Switch. If you need one design in eight sizes, Canva. If you need one long file in three ratios, Opus Clip Pro. If you generate a clip, pick the ratio first. Do not caption a 16:9 and hope a 9:16 crop keeps the words.
What "in sync" actually means
In sync is not three unrelated videos that share a topic.
It means:
- The claim is the same (the number does not change between the Reel and the YouTube cut)
- The subject is in the frame in every ratio (a 9:16 that cuts off the product is not a set)
- Captions sit in the safe area of that ratio, not the ratio you started with
- The file you schedule to LinkedIn is the square (or the wide), not a vertical with bars you forgot to check
Burned-in captions are pixels. Type placed for 16:9 becomes a belt across a 9:16, or it falls into TikTok chrome, or it sits under a username stack. Crop first. Caption the frame you will ship. Keep an uncaptioned master. Disk is cheaper than a recaption.
A set is usually two ratios, not three. Reels and Shorts want 9:16. A feed often wants 4:5 or 1:1. YouTube wants 16:9. If you do not post one of those, do not make it. Three exports you do not use is how a set becomes a folder of lies.
The six apps
1. CapCut. Start here if the master is a timeline. Set the project ratio, or duplicate the project and change it. Recrop the subject. Move the captions. Export. Free does this. Independent 2026 App Store reads put Pro near $19.99 a month in the US. Confirm in-app. CapCut is the honest resize if you already cut the piece there. Auto reframe and ratio presets save time. They do not save a caption you burned before you cropped. If you captioned the 16:9, you recaption the 9:16. CapCut is the wrong first click if the master is a Canva card, a 40-minute podcast, or a still that should be generated at 9:16 from the start. It is the right first click if the edit exists and the set is "that edit, two more crops."
2. Canva. Start here if the master is a design. Magic Resize (inside Magic Switch) is a Pro feature: one file, many sizes, Brand Kit intact. Moda (9 September 2026) puts Pro at $18 a month or $180 a year. Translate lives in the same Switch family. That is useful for a set that is also a language set. It is not a video reframe of a talking head. Independent 2026 AI reads (The Rundown, 29 August 2026; Moda) give Pro up to 20 Ultra uses a month. Do not spend Ultra generating three videos in three ratios if Magic Resize on one design was the job. Canva is the wrong app if the set is a podcast clip that has to follow a moving speaker. It is the right app if the set is a launch card in 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9, and they must share type and color.
3. Opus Clip. Open Opus Clip when the master is a long video and the set is shorts plus a square plus a wide, cut from the same in-point. ReframeAnything is the model they sell for that. Pricing (20 September 2026) puts 9:16 reframe on Free and Starter ($15 a month). Pro ($29 a month) adds 1:1 and 16:9, moving object tracking, custom reframing, bulk export, and a scheduler. If the job is "keep the three ratios in sync from one long file," Starter is not the row. Pro is the row. Auto hook and AI captions will need a check per ratio. A caption layout that worked on 9:16 will not automatically be correct on 16:9. Watch each export. Opus Clip is the wrong app if there is no long file. It will not Magic Switch a Brand Kit card. It is the right app if you have been exporting one 9:16 from a podcast and letting LinkedIn crop it.
4. Versely. Versely sits here because a generated clip has a native ratio, and the set should start there, not in a crop you do later. Generate 9:16 if the ship is Reels. Generate 16:9 if the ship is YouTube. Do not generate 16:9, burn Snap captions, then punch to 9:16. The words will sit in the wrong place. Image-to-video on Hailuo 2.3 Fast is 12 credits at 6s discounted (23 full) and 23 at 10s (45 full). Run the ratio you need. A second ratio is a second generate if you cannot reframe cleanly, or a reframe in CapCut from an uncaptioned master if you can. One-taps (Finger Snap about 18 credits discounted, Mugshot about 20) are vertical habits. Do not treat them as a 16:9 brand film. Caption after aspect lock, on caption styles, for that canvas. Versely is not Canva Magic Switch. It is not Opus Clip ReframeAnything. It is not Later. There is no "post this file to LinkedIn, that file to Reels" button. It is the app when the set starts as generates, and you would rather pick the ratio than crop a captioned master.
5. Descript. Open Descript when the master is a transcript edit and each ratio is a sequence with its own layout. Duplicate the composition. Change the canvas. Move the layout pack. Recaption. Dynamic captions are on Descript's paid rows. Pricing (20 September 2026, annual) is Hobbyist at $16 a month ($24 monthly), Creator at $24 ($35 monthly), Business at $50 ($65 monthly) with Brand Studio so the team cannot invent a fourth canvas. Batch file export starts at Creator. If you ship three ratios a week, Creator's batch export is the meter to look at, not Hobbyist's 1080p cap. Descript is the wrong app if nobody talked. It is the right app if the set is "same sentences, three canvases," and you already cut in text.
6. Later. Open Later last, because in sync dies at publish. A visual calendar that attaches one MP4 to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook will happily send a 9:16 to a network that wanted a square. Later lets you customize the post per profile (their scheduler FAQ, read 20 September 2026: up to 10 profiles at once, customize each, because Facebook and LinkedIn may be text-only while Instagram needs media). Use that. Put the 9:16 on Reels and TikTok. Put the 1:1 on the feed if that is the lock. Put the 16:9 on YouTube. Pricing (yearly, 20 September 2026) is Starter at $18.75 a month billed yearly (30 posts per profile), Growth at $37.50 (180), Scale at $82.50 (unlimited). Each ratio you schedule is a post on that profile's counter. A three-ratio set on one Instagram in one day is three posts, not one. Count that on Starter. Later is not a reframe tool. If you upload one file, you do not have a set. You have a crop the network will choose.
How to pick without stacking six bills
Name the master, then pick the resize.
- Master is a CapCut timeline: duplicate the project. Caption after each crop.
- Master is a Canva design: Magic Switch. Pro.
- Master is a long video: Opus Clip Pro if you need three ratios. Starter if you only need 9:16.
- Master is a still you will generate: Versely, at the ship ratio, uncaptioned copies if you need a second ratio.
- Master is a transcript: Descript sequences.
- Files are done: Later, one file per network, not one file for all.
Two apps is an aspect stack. CapCut plus Later. Canva plus Later. Opus Clip Pro plus Later. Versely plus CapCut for a second crop from an uncaptioned master. Six apps is three ratios times six logins.
Do not pay Opus Clip Pro and CapCut to reframe the same podcast unless one is the first cut and the other is a salvage. Do not generate three Finger Snaps in three moods and call it a ratio set. A set shares a claim.
After the three files exist
Play each file on a phone. Chrome eats different edges on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. A caption that cleared Instagram can still sit under YouTube's Shorts overlay.
Keep the uncaptioned master. When legal changes the disclaimer, you recaption three canvases from one picture lock. If you only kept the burned 9:16, you do not have a set. You have a file.
When the set starts as a generate, sign up and run the ratio you will ship. When the set is a design, stay in Canva. The list is six apps. The set is usually two files.
FAQ
Can I ship one 9:16 and let every network crop it?
You can. You will not have a set. LinkedIn will punch the face. YouTube will letterbox or crop. Captions will sit in the wrong place. One file is a single. A set is files you made on purpose.
Why is Versely in the middle of a resize list?
Because generated clips need a ratio decision before type. CapCut and Canva resize work you already have. Opus Clip reframes a long file. Versely is the generate. If you never generate, you may not need it. If you generate then crop a captioned export, you needed this row.
Does Opus Clip Starter keep 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 in sync?
No. Starter's reframe row is 9:16. Pro is 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9. If the set is three ratios from one long file, Pro is the meter. If the set is Reels only, Starter is enough and this page is more app than you need.
