Bakery UGC is the bake you can sell

Bakery UGC is the bake you can sell. Film the case as it sits today; a generated croissant is a SKU you cannot bag.

Bakery UGC is the bake you can sell. The production constraint is the case: a pastry that is on the tray this morning, at the price the till will take, in the shop a walker can enter before noon. A generated croissant with a prettier shatter is a SKU you cannot bag. Film the bake. Put the ticket in frame before the face.

This is not food UGC. Food on this site is a grocery pack in a home kitchen. It is not restaurant UGC. A restaurant sells a plated dish from a pass. A bakery sells a bake from a case that empties. Neighbours will grade the crumb and whether the tart in the ad is still there at 11am.

UGC ads still show about 4× click-through and about 50% lower CPC, and 86% of brands say UGC lifts performance (Kapwing 2026; Billo). 92% of consumers trust a peer over a brand message in the same stack. A peer in a bakery ate there, baked there, or works the bench. Human UGC still rates 81% on authenticity against 63% for AI UGC (Kapwing 2026; archive.com / creator.co). In this category the tell is laminations and whether the case is the case.

If it is not in the case, it is not the ad

If you are advertising a bake, that bake has to be sellable today — or the caption has to say the day it will be. Same dough, same garnish, same size the bag holds. A generated “elevated” tart is a different menu. A food-stylist stand-in that cannot be eaten is a commercial; say so or do not run it as UGC.

    On camera:

    • Tray ticket or case card, readable. Burn the name as the card names it. Auto-captions will hear “kouign-amann” as “queen a man.”
    • Hands on dough you mixed, on a score you made, on a bag you will actually hand over. Pick a human when the hands matter is the egg wash, the shatter, the cream — not a generated “artisan ritual.”
    • The bake moving into the real case, or being eaten by staff or a guest who agreed.
    • One sensory fact that is true this morning: the steam that is actually there, the crumb that actually tears, the icing that actually sets.

    Do not:

    • Generate steam on a cold bun.
    • Swap a portion size in post.
    • Invent a seasonal SKU you are not running.
    • Use another bakery’s interior as yours.
    • Fill the case in generate because Tuesday looked thin.

Empty Tuesday is a true Tuesday. A thin case is inventory. A minted full case is a different shop. Sold-out is a caption you can burn (“gone by 10 — pre-order”) over a real empty tray. It is not a reason to generate a full one.

Wholesale and commissary: if the ad is the High Street shop, film the High Street shop. A central kitchen hero, labelled as the commissary, can exist. Mixing plates so the hook is the mill and the landing page is the kiosk is bait.

    Hands on dough you mixed

The bench is the product in hand. Film the mix, the fold, the score, the peel. Those are mechanical facts. A host talking about sourdough that never enters the frame is a studio ad wearing an apron.

Health codes are a shot list. Hair, gloves where you use gloves, no phones on ready-to-eat if your policy forbids it. An ad that shows a violation is an inspection still. Do not generate a cleaner bench than the one a guest will see through the hatch.

Allergens: if the VO says “nut free,” the bench has to be able to stand behind it. UGC does not get to be casual about a protocol. Burn the allergen line as the card prints it. Keep it readable.

Retail bags and loaves to go are SKUs. If the clip is the country loaf, the bag in frame is that bag, label toward lens. Do not re-letter a generated kraft pouch. Do not imply a subscription the site does not run.

Staff: bakers and counter need a grant for paid ads if they are identifiable. Last week’s 4am photo is not Ads Manager. Do not film a guest at the next stool without paper; crop to the bake.

Minors: do not. Not as “Saturday kids’ croissant class” atmosphere in a paid ad, not generated. A family bakery still does not need a child face to sell a bun.

Captions: the AI caption generator is for the bake string, the site name, the pre-order URL. Keep the block off the crumb. The crumb is the proof. Burned-in captions carry the sold-out line on mute. Watch the safe area so the username does not sit on the tart.

Audio: mixers and ovens are allowed. A trailer VO is a studio tell. Do not add a whoosh on every score. Do not steal a playlist you cannot licence.

Allergens, hours, and other lies you will not print

Hours, pre-order cut-offs, and wholesale-only trays are logistics UGC. They do not need a generated queue. They need the true open time and the true last bake. Burn those lines.

    Do not generate:

    • A packed Saturday for a Tuesday ad.
    • A celebrity guest.
    • A “we’re on fire” oven when you are not.
    • A view the site does not have.
    • A gluten-free case you do not run.

Reviews: a guest on camera is a testimonial ad. They ate there, they agreed to this use, the words are theirs. A generated diner saying “best kouign in town” is a fabricated review. Star overlays you cannot document are the same problem in type.

New York’s synthetic-performer law (N.Y. GBL § 396-b, in force 9 June 2026) treats generated humans in ads that can reach New York consumers as disclosable synthetic performers. $1,000 first, $5,000 subsequent. A fake queue is a roomful of performers. Article 50 wants a first-exposure label on photoreal people and places for EU audiences since 2 August 2026. A labelled fake marble bakery is still a fake bakery. Use the Article 50 disclosure template.

YouTube’s 27 May 2026 labelling pass (YouTube Blog) overlays photoreal or meaningfully AI-altered Shorts. Labels do not turn a synthetic shatter into a bag at the till.

Usage rights for a guest clip are a grant, not a loyalty stamp. FTC endorsement disclosure still applies if you comped the tart for the reel.

Prices: if you put a price on screen, the till will honour it this morning. Yesterday’s chalkboard in a today ad is a bait price.

    Caption the tray ticket

Bakeries already have phone footage: a baker’s story, a tray coming off, a case at 8am. Sort it by grant, not by vibe. The generate layer is captions, crop, and a hook over B-roll you filmed. It is not a new pastry.

The UGC video generator can wrap a real tray clip with a baker you actually recorded and burned-in names. Do not prompt it for “a Parisian marble bakery at golden hour.” Prompt it to caption the kouign you baked.

Seedance 2.0 will invent a handsome bakery in 4–15 seconds at 69 credits with native audio. Handsome is a different lease. Keep that row off the maps ad unless the clip is obviously not your site. If you need motion on a still of the case, Wan 2.7 Image to Video is 15 credits, 1080p, 2–15 seconds, audio null — a mute push on a tray you photographed. Do not prompt extra steam.

66% of creators offer UGC services and the creator population grew 93% year on year (Kapwing 2026; creator.co). A creator who eats with you is a guest; paper the bake if you comped it. A creator who never came is a presenter on the pavement. 87% of brands use UGC and 16% have a strategy. The strategy here is: one SKU from today’s case, hands on dough you mixed, no synthetic shatter, no synthetic house.

If the cut still works after you change the bakery name, you did not film the bake. Put the ticket in frame one.

    Caption the tray in Versely.

    FAQ

Can I generate a full case if we usually sell out?

No. A full case is a claim about inventory. If you are sold out, say sold out over an empty tray, or film tomorrow’s bake. A minted case is a SKU you cannot bag.

Can a group use one hero kitchen for every shop?

Not as that shop’s UGC. A commissary hero, labelled as the commissary or as brand film, can exist. The maps ad for the station kiosk should be the kiosk’s case.

Can I generate steam to make the loaf look fresh?

No. Steam is a claim that the bake just came off. If it did, the steam will be there. If it did not, you are styling a different loaf.
