The name is used on more than one app and the fine print is not shared. TikTok's Creator Rewards Programme (the successor to the older Creativity Fund in the markets where it runs) pays on original videos over one minute that clear a qualified For You view floor; Duets, Stitches, Photo Mode, and ads are out. X's Original Content Rewards, from 8 August 2026, pays on unique Premium Home Timeline impressions of original posts. YouTube's closest cousin is not named Content Rewards at all: it is qualified watch hours plus the Shorts milestone track, gated by the Partner Programme.
What the programmes share is a filter, not a vibe. A view, an impression, or an hour only counts when it is original enough, long enough, and from the surface the programme actually meters. Scroll-past plays, recycled files, and traffic from ads or another app's watermark are the usual exclusions. Originality score is TikTok's internal name for that filter; inauthentic content is YouTube's; X writes 'original content' into the programme title.
AI is not a disqualifier on its own in the 2026 rules. TikTok's Creativity Program still pays labelled AI the same rate. YouTube still monetises AI-assisted video that carries the creator's own vision and the required synthetic-media disclosure. What they all drop is the farm: mass-produced templates, reposts, and files that look like they came from the same render queue. A labelled original still has to be original.
In practice
- Read the programme name on the cheque. Creativity Program, Creator Rewards, and Original Content Rewards are not the same meter.
- If the video is under a minute on TikTok Rewards, it earns zero no matter how many public views it writes.
- Label AI when the platform asks. The label is not a ranking penalty; unoriginal templating is.
The mistake to avoid
Pasting public views into a Rewards forecast. The programmes pay on a qualified subset, and the subset is usually much smaller.

Creativity Program
TikTok's Creativity Program pays eligible original videos. Labelled AI stays in; undisclosed AI can mean removal. The rate does not change with the label.
Originality score
Originality score is a platform's internal grade of how much of a post is yours. A low score can zero out Rewards even when public views look fine.
Home Timeline impressions
Home Timeline impressions are X (Twitter) counts of a post shown in the Home feed — not profile, Search, or replies — and the ones that can pay.
Inauthentic content
Inauthentic content is YouTube's policy against mass-produced, repetitive, templated uploads — the disqualifier for YPP hours, not a ban on AI as such.
Spark Ads
Spark Ads meaning: TikTok budget behind an existing post (yours or a creator's) so paid reach keeps the real likes, comments, and shares.
