The 2026 rule that matters for generated work is the label, not a ban. TikTok's published position, as summarised in the September 2026 platform-policy roundups, is that AI content remains eligible for the Creativity Program if the built-in AI label is used; undisclosed AI can mean the video is removed or the account is suspended from the programme. The payout rate is the same labelled or not. The label is not a ranking penalty on TikTok, YouTube, or Meta. Unoriginal, templated content is.
Do not confuse this programme with Creator Rewards (sometimes still called Content Rewards in creator slang). Rewards in the markets where it runs pays on original videos over one minute with a qualified For You view floor, and it excludes Duets, Stitches, Photo Mode, and ads. Originality score is the Rewards filter. Creativity Program is the older, broader monetisation track that still has the AI-label rule attached. An account can sit in one, the other, or a regional mix; the Studio page is the source of truth for which meter a given video is on.
Spark Ads and Creativity Program are also not the same door. Spark is how an advertiser boosts a creator's native post. The Programme is how TikTok pays the creator from its own pool. A labelled AI UGC post can be eligible for the Programme and still be a Spark candidate if the advertiser wants it. An unlabelled photoreal avatar is the one that gets the account in trouble.
In practice
- Toggle TikTok's AI label on realistic generated or AI-altered posts before you care about the cheque.
- Check Studio for which programme a video is actually in. The names are easy to swap in conversation.
- Do not expect the AI label to save a templated farm. Originality is a separate gate.
The mistake to avoid
Skipping the AI label because 'it pays the same.' It does, until the video is removed and the programme seat is gone.
