    Publishing and performance

    Syndication meaning

Also called Cross-posting, Multi-platform publishing, Content syndication.

Syndication is publishing one piece on more than one surface — adapted per platform, not the same file fired at three apps.

The honest version changes the cut. Ratio, caption burn-in, hook length, safe area, and whether the platform wants a sidecar or pixels in the frame are different jobs on YouTube, TikTok, Reels, and X. Content-repurposing is the edit that produces those jobs from one master. Syndication is the distribution of the results. A scheduler that uploads one MP4 everywhere is a repost machine, and repost limits plus originality scores are how platforms answer it.

Rights travel with the file. A Spark-boosted TikTok is not automatically a Reels ad. A piece that used a platform-native sound may not be clearable on another app. A deepfake label you burned in for Article 50 should survive the crop; a C2PA manifest will not survive the re-encode. Plan the disclosure in the picture, not in a description field that each app will rewrite.

Brand kit is what stops a syndicated week from looking like four companies. Same type, same colour, same end card, different aspect and hook. The calendar should say which row is a new master and which row is a syndication of Tuesday's, or you will generate twice and still miss the adaptation.

    In practice

    • Export a new file per platform. Do not download from one app and upload to the next.
    • Burn the disclosure into a place that survives each crop, not only into the caption field.
    • Change the hook when the audience changes. A YouTube cold open and a TikTok cold open are allowed to be different sentences.

    The mistake to avoid

Calling a straight reupload syndication. If the file did not change, it is a repost, and the limit applies.
