Vibes is the AI-only short-form feed inside the Meta AI app, launched in September 2025, with early models from Midjourney and Black Forest Labs (about.fb.com/news/2025/09/introducing-vibes-ai-videos/). The unit of the feed is a generated clip. Remix is the native verb: take another person's AI video as the starting point, generate a new one, publish it into Vibes, and optionally push it out to Reels and Stories. That is a different object from a TikTok Stitch (a clip of the original plus your follow-up) or a Duet (two videos side by side).
Rights and disclosure travel with the format whether the UI makes that obvious or not. You are generating a new file, not boosting the original. Meta's AI labels still apply on Reels; C2PA and self-disclosure are the signals it reads. If the remix is a realistic person, place or event going to an EU audience, Article 50's deployer duty still wants a label at first exposure. Remixing does not inherit the original creator's disclosure, their usage rights, or their Spark code.
Treat Vibes as a generation surface with a social graph, not as a rights-cleared stock library. A remix that copies a product, a face, or a piece of music from the source clip has not been licensed by the act of pressing remix. Cross-posting to Reels puts the new file on a feed that still has originality and advertising rules. The original remains someone else's post.
In practice
- If you cross-post a Vibes remix to Reels, disclose it as AI there too. The Vibes context does not follow the file.
- Do not treat remix as a licence to the source's product, likeness, or soundtrack.
- Stitch and Duet are TikTok objects. Vibes remix is a new generate. Use the word that matches the app.
The mistake to avoid
Calling a Vibes remix a Stitch. You did not clip the original. You generated a new video that was conditioned on it.

AI UGC
AI UGC meaning: brand-owned feed-native video generated to look like a person talking to camera about a product, not a real customer post.
Repost limit
A repost limit is how often a platform will let the same file, or a near copy, circulate before it throttles reach or drops Rewards.
