One balance, one currency
Credits are bought exactly one way — a subscription or a credit pack — and spent exactly one way, on generations. API access does not change either half of that. The five plans run from $9 for 180 credits a week to $649.99 for 14,400 credits a year, and the six packs from $1 to $50.
No plan gates the catalog either: all 296 models are available on every plan, so there is no “API tier” to upgrade to for a bigger model list. Unused credits roll over for as long as the subscription is active, whichever surface spent them.
The same job costs fewer credits through the API
The same job consumes half as many credits when you run it with an API key instead of in the app.
Read that as consumption, not as value. A credit is one currency at one price — nothing about the credits you bought changes, and there is no API credit, no conversion and no exchange rate. It is the number of credits deducted for an API-key request that is lower than for the identical request made in the app.
Three ways in
All three reach the same API at https://api.versely.studio/api/v1 and all three bill identically — pick whichever fits how you work.
MCP server
Paste one connector URL into Claude or any MCP-compatible client and sign in with your Versely account. No key handling, no code.
CLI
Install @versely/cli, run versely auth login, and it wires your key, the MCP connection and the Versely skills into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other agents.
Agent skills
Pull the Versely skills into an agent so it can drive generation, slideshows, UGC, music, social publishing and full pipelines on its own.
The full walkthrough for each lives on the developer page.
Budgeting a script
Because there is no separate API rate card, the per-job credit costs are the same ones the app quotes. The two numbers that matter when you are looping over a batch:
2–4,096 cr
video — 146 models, cheapest to dearest single generation
1–30 cr
image — 108 models, cheapest to dearest single generation
60 cr
Cheapest complete multi-scene video project
Budget for attempts rather than outputs: every generation a script runs spends credits, including the takes you discard. The full per-model breakdown is on what a credit buys.
No free API tier
There is no sandbox allowance, no trial key and no free daily quota. The cheapest model in the catalog is 1 credit and nothing prices at zero, so the first call needs a funded balance — either an active subscription or a credit pack from $1. When the balance runs out, generation stops until it is topped up.
API billing questions
Is there separate API pricing?+
No. There is no API-only plan, no per-seat fee and no separate API wallet. API access draws on the same credit balance as the app, topped up by the same subscriptions and credit packs.
Does a job cost the same through the API as in the app?+
The same job consumes half as many credits when you run it with an API key instead of in the app. Credits themselves are one currency at one price — nothing about the credits you buy changes — it is the consumption for an API-key request that is lower.
How do I get API access?+
Through any of the three connection paths: the MCP server, the CLI, or the agent skills. The CLI handles key issuance and wiring in one command; the MCP connector signs in with your Versely account directly.
Is there a free API tier?+
No. API calls consume credits from your balance exactly like in-app generations do, and there is no free allowance — the cheapest model in the catalog is 1 credit. You need an active subscription or a credit pack before the first call will run.
What happens if my balance runs out mid-project?+
Generation stops until the balance is topped up. Credit packs add to the same balance immediately, which is the usual way to cover a spike without changing subscription cadence.
