    6 apps that burn captions after generate

    CapCut, VEED, Captions.ai, Versely, Submagic, and Descript burn type after generate. Pick by timeline, browser, phone, family, templates, or transcript.

    A generate is a picture, and sometimes a soundtrack. It is not a captioned file. You still have to burn type after. Six apps will take that MP4 and composite words into the frames. CapCut auto-captions the import. VEED transcribes and toggles burn at export. Captions.ai captions a file you kept (karaoke is not Max). Versely burns a family after picture lock. Submagic applies a word-by-word template. Descript captions from the transcript you edit. This page is that list. It is not a Versely landing page. It is not a prompt guide.

    Burn means the type is in the pixels. The feed cannot switch it off. That is the point on mute autoplay, and also why you do not burn a draft. Burned-in captions are last among picture jobs, first among delivery jobs.

    Picture lock, then a burn app

    Do not caption a take you will regenerate. Do not caption 16:9 and then crop to 9:16. Do not caption, then extend. Duration, ratio, and audio lock first.

    A prompt that says large yellow captions: "Ships in 12 days" asks the model to paint letters as texture. You will get cousin spelling, a second language, or a title card over the mouth. You cannot nudge a late cue. You cannot swap a look without regenerating the shot. Treat the generate as A-roll. Treat captions as a later compositor.

    Silent rows have nothing to transcribe. Add voice, or author overlay copy you wrote. Native-audio rows still need the burn. The bake is heard only by people who unmute.

    Sidecar SRT is for a player with a CC button. Reels will not play it. Keep an SRT for long-form if you also upload there. Do not attach it to TikTok and skip the burn.

    This list is finishers. Runway, Kling, Flow, and the rest of the generate surfaces are not here because they do not replace a caption pass. Flow is a Veo launcher. It is not a typesetter.

    The six apps

    1. CapCut. Start here if you generate in CapCut and you also caption in CapCut. Seedance motion plus auto captions on one timeline is the honest door. Independent 2026 reads (SocialRails, 18 July 2026) put Pro at $19.99 a month or $179.99 a year. Official help (2 April 2026) lists auto captions on Pro. CapCut does not publish a public dollar table (20 September 2026). If you generated elsewhere, import the MP4, caption, export. Stay when the generate still needs cuts. Leave when you needed a locked family, or when you generated in CapCut and the default caption skin would make the AI talking head look like template spam.

    2. VEED. Open VEED when the generate is a file in a browser and burn is a named toggle. Official help (auto subtitles, 20 September 2026) is explicit: after you click Done, a Burn Subtitles button hardcodes the type into the video, or leaves it off. Off means the type is not in the file. On mute Reels, off is a miss. Generate subtitles after picture edits. Help says mismatched timestamps after a later edit are fixed by regenerating subtitles. PulseSignal (13 September 2026) puts Creator at $12 per user per month billed annually ($147 a year) with unlimited auto subtitles, Pro at $22 ($265 a year). Recheck veed.io/pricing. VEED will also generate video inside Gen-AI Studio. That is a different product. This page only needs the burn after your generate, from whatever model produced it.

    3. Captions.ai. Open Captions when the generate is a talking-head you will caption on a phone. Karaoke is on Free. Subscriptions help (17 September 2026) puts Captions and Eclipse on Free. Pricing (20 September 2026) cards Max at $24.99 and 500 credits. Max is Mirage, twins, AI Edit. Web add-captions can route you through AI Edit styles first. Those spend more credits than a captions-only pass. Open Captions only. Style help documents active word color and templates. Do not prompt Max to "make it karaoke." Prompt-to-video will bake letters into generated frames. Karaoke is a second pass on a file you kept. If the generate came from Captions' own Mirage, still caption after, in the captions tab, not inside the prompt.

    4. Versely. Versely sits here because generate and burn can share a bill without sharing a button. You run Veo 3.1 or another row. You lock the take. Then the AI caption generator transcribes (165 language codes) and burns. Add captions to a video is 21 BASIC looks at 1× and 9 DYNAMIC at 2×. Caption styles is 45 CSS presets. Snap and Reveal are timed. Classic is the stroke. Preview a look on a short slice before you render the full file. Credits are not dollars. A 2× DYNAMIC look on a file you will throw away is a wasted multiplier. Versely will not caption inside the Veo prompt. That is the point. It will not replace CapCut if the generate still needs a timeline. It is the app when the MP4 is locked and you want a family on it.

    5. Submagic. Open Submagic when the post-generate burn should look like a short-form template, not like a subtitle track. Pricing (20 September 2026): Starter $19 a month monthly ($12 yearly), 15 videos, 2 minute cap. Pro $39 ($23 yearly), 40 videos. Business $69 ($41 yearly), 100 videos. Upload the generate. Pick a word-by-word template. Export burned-in captions. The AI caption page claims 123 languages and 35+ animation templates. Duration caps matter. A 10-second generate fits Starter's 2 minute cap. A 12-minute generated presenter does not. Upgrade or trim first. Submagic is a poor home if you still need to regenerate the picture. Finish picture elsewhere. Burn here.

    6. Descript. Open Descript when the generate is speech-heavy and the burn should follow a transcript you already cleaned. Descript pricing (20 September 2026, yearly): Hobbyist $16, Creator $24, Business $50 per person per month. Dynamic captions unlimited on every tier. Free is 60 media minutes and a watermark. Import the generate. Edit the text. The captions follow. If you cut a sentence, the video cuts. That is the product. It is the wrong burn app for an 8-second silent product orbit. It is the right one for a generated presenter you will shorten. Studio Sound on native-audio Veo is optional. Do not "enhance" a bake into a different room.

    How to pick the burn app

    One sentence.

    • Generated and cut in CapCut: caption there.
    • File in a browser, want a burn toggle: VEED.
    • Phone talking-head, karaoke: Captions Free or Basic, not Max.
    • Locked generate, want a family: Versely.
    • Want a viral template on the bake: Submagic.
    • Speech-heavy, will cut in text: Descript.

    Two apps is a generate-plus-finish stack. The generator can be anyone. The finisher is one of these six. Six finishers is a hobby.

    Do not burn in two apps and pick later. That is two transcripts to reconcile. Pick the finisher before the first caption pass.

    After the pixels are burned

    Spot-check names and numbers. ASR on generated speech still misses the SKU. A burned typo is a recaption.

    Keep type off faces and off safe area chrome. Generated close-ups are tighter than phone UGC. Recheck.

    YouTube Shorts may overlay an AI label on photoreal generates. Leave room.

    When the take is locked and the job is a family, sign up and burn. When the take is still moving, do not open any of these six. The list is six apps. The generate is one file.

    FAQ

    Can Flow or Kling burn captions for me?

    Not as a production caption pass. They generate. You export. You finish in one of the six. Flow is a Veo surface. Kling is a motion app. Neither is a typesetter you should live in.

    Should I caption before I upscale?

    No. Upscale, crop, and lock duration first. Captions are pixels. A later scale puts them in the wrong place or at the wrong weight.

    Is an SRT enough after generate?

    Not for Reels, TikTok, or Shorts mute autoplay. Burn-in is the file. Keep an SRT for a watch page that has a CC button.
