6 apps for a carousel still set

Canva, Figma, Photoroom, Versely, Recraft, and ChatGPT Images make a swipe set. Pick by frame, components, cutout, volume row, style lock, or quoted slide.

You need eight stills that swipe as one post. That is a set job, not a hero-image job. Six apps will take the set. Canva is the brand frame you already post from. Figma is the component so slide 7 still matches slide 1. Photoroom is the same cutout on every tile. Versely is the volume stills row, plus a lettered title slide when the first frame is type. Recraft is the style lock so the graphic tiles do not drift. ChatGPT Images is the one instruction slide with a quoted line. This page is that list. It is not a Canva tutorial. It is not a slideshow-to-video page.

A carousel fails in public when tile three looks like a different brand. Same crop. Same type size. Same palette. Same subject distance. If you cannot put the eight files in a contact sheet and see one kit, you do not have a set. You have eight one-offs.

    What this list is for

The job is a swipe of stills: Instagram 4:5, a LinkedIn document, a 1:1 grid. Five to ten files. Not a Reel. Not a YouTube thumb. Not a 40-SKU catalog. If the deliverable is motion, that is a clip list. If the deliverable is one poster, that is a type list.

The hard part is not making a pretty first slide. The hard part is making slide 6 obey slide 1 after two people have touched the file. Generators love a new idea every call. Sets punish that. Lock the frame before you lock the prompt. Pick one ratio and keep it. Mixing 4:5 and 1:1 in one swipe is how the post jumps in the viewer's hand.

Proof type on the title slide at 100 percent. Proof the product cutout on every tile, not only on the hero. A missed label on slide 4 is the slide people screenshot.

    The six apps

    1. Canva. Start here if the carousel already lives on a Brand Kit template. Independent reads of Canva's 2026 AI table (The Rundown, 29 August 2026; Moda, 9 September 2026) put Pro at about $144 a year, with a shared monthly allowance: up to 2,000 Standard, 200 Premium, or 20 Ultra AI uses. Canva Business is about $250 a year per person and advertises 100 Brand Kits. Image generation is Premium AI. High-quality image is Ultra AI. Magic Resize will duplicate a slide into another ratio. That is useful after the set is locked, not as a way to invent ten different crops. Generate a photo inside Canva only if the Ultra or Premium bucket can take the retries. Most shops should typeset in Canva and generate the photo elsewhere. Canva is the post. It is a bad first app if you needed eight matching product cutouts and you do not have the PNGs yet.

    2. Figma. Open Figma when the set is a system. Figma pricing (read 20 September 2026) lists Professional Full at $16 a month with 3,000 AI credits. Variables, components, and auto layout are the product. One master 4:5 frame. A title style. A body style. A photo well of a fixed size. Duplicate. Swap the picture. Swap the line. Slide 8 cannot drift because it is an instance. Figma Design AI can Make image and Replace content. Use Replace content for dummy lines. Do not Make image eight times and hope the lighting matches. Figma Buzz (beta on the same pricing page) is the brand-template seat for people who should only swap copy. Figma is a bad first app if the team will never open a component panel. It is the right app when "the third tile is off-brand" is a weekly Slack.

    3. Photoroom. Open Photoroom when the set is the same object on eight fields. Photoroom's pricing (read 20 September 2026) lists Pro at 8,000 AI credits and 1,000 exports, Max at 25,000 and 3,000, Ultra at 75,000 and 10,000. Monthly stickers (PulseSignal, 14 September 2026): $12.99, $34.99, $99. Background Remover is a core tool. Brand Kit is included on paid plans. AI Backgrounds Studio draws credits. Cut the bottle once. Reuse the PNG. Do not regenerate the product on every slide. That is how the cap colour wanders. Photoroom is the consistent subject. It will not typeset a carousel. It will not keep Inter at 42 pt. Pair it with Canva or Figma, or you will paste eight cutouts into a mess.

    4. Versely. Versely sits here because a set is a volume hour plus one or two lettered tiles, and those are different rows. The door is text to image. Nano Banana 2 is 4 credits discounted (7 full), ultra-fast, 4:5 and 1:1 listed, up to 14 references, edit-image on the same slug. That is the photo well: eight surfaces, eight angles, the same bottle as a reference. Twenty drafts are 80 credits. Twenty drafts on GPT Image 2 T2I at 9 credits are 180. Cull on Banana 2. Ideogram V4 is 5 credits, posters and logos, accurate text, 4:5 not listed (1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4 are). Title slides that are type: generate at 4:5's neighbour and crop with intent, or typeset in Canva. Recraft 4.1 Text to Image is 3 credits, style control. Graphic tiles, icons, flat diagrams. Not the packshot. Imagen 4 is shut down (Google Gemini API page, 17 September 2026). Do not loop a leftover Imagen card for "the Google look" across eight slides. Versely is not Canva. It will not Magic Resize the post. It is the app when the set needs a cheap matching photo row and one lettered opener, on one bill. If you later want those stills in motion, AI slideshow maker is a different job. Finish the set first.

    5. Recraft. Open Recraft when several tiles are illustrations, icons, or a flat diagram, and they have to look like siblings. Recraft V4.1 launched 14 May 2026. Paid plans (read 20 September 2026): Basic $12 a month ($10 yearly) for 1,000 credits, Pro from $20 ($16 yearly) for 2,000. Teams get shared custom styles. That sentence is the carousel pitch. Recraft's V4.1 docs split Expressive from Utility: Utility is flat lighting and front-facing scenes. Use Utility when tile 4 should not surprise you. Use a saved style when tile 4 should still look like tile 2. Recraft is a bad first app if the set is eight photographs of a SKU you ship. It is the right app when the set is a how-to made of marks.

    6. ChatGPT Images. Open ChatGPT Images when one slide has to follow a long brief: a quoted statistic, a three-panel how-to, a layout you wrote in a paragraph. ChatGPT Images 2.0 / gpt-image-2 launched 21 April 2026. ChatGPT pricing (read 20 September 2026): Plus $20 a month, expanded image creation. Free is limited and slower. Do not generate all eight tiles here. Instruction stills cost attention and, on Versely's published cousin GPT Image 2 Text to Image, 9 or 17 credits. One quoted title slide is the job. Eight "same energy" regenerations is how the lighting drifts and the face becomes a cousin. Attach the locked product PNG if the object must hold. ChatGPT Images is not a component library. It will not keep your type style. Paste the keeper into Figma or Canva and typeset the rest.

How to pick without eight one-offs

Lock the frame. Then pick the app.

    • Already posting from a Canva Brand Kit: stay for type and export. Generate photos elsewhere if the AI bucket is tight.
    • The set is a design system: Figma components. Duplicate, do not restyle.
    • Same physical product on every tile: Photoroom once, then the layout app.
    • Volume photo tiles plus a lettered opener, one bill: Versely. Banana 2 for photos. Ideogram V4 or Recraft 4.1 for graphic tiles.
    • Illustration tiles that must share a style: Recraft, saved style or Teams shared styles.
    • One dense instruction slide: ChatGPT Images, then back to the layout app.

Two apps is a set stack. Canva plus Photoroom covers a product swipe. Figma plus Versely covers a system plus volume photos. Adding ChatGPT, Recraft, and Canva AI in the same week is how slide 5 looks like a different company.

Credits are not dollars on Versely. Do not convert 3, 4, 5, 9, or 17 into USD. Canva, Figma, Photoroom, Recraft, and ChatGPT publish USD seats. Quote those dated.

After the stills are a set

Export as a numbered sequence. 01-cover.png through 08-last.png. Same colour profile. Same pixel size. A 4:5 tile next to a 1:1 tile is a jump cut.

Do not mix generated type and layout type in the same swipe unless you meant to. If slide 1 is Ideogram letters and slide 2 is Inter in Figma, the post has two voices. Pick one typesetter.

If a price or a date will change, that line is overlay in Canva or Figma, not a generate. Regenerating eight tiles because the sale ended is how a set becomes eight new cousins.

When the photo wells are the job and the opener is a lettered still, sign up and run the rows. When the job is the template, stay in Canva or Figma. The list is six apps. The swipe is one kit.

    FAQ

How many stills is a set?

Enough to finish one thought. Five to ten is the usual swipe. Two is a before-and-after, not a carousel. Twenty is a deck you should have paginated. Count the claim, not the max the platform allows.

Can I generate all ten on one model?

You can. You will fight drift. Banana 2 for photo volume. A lettering row or a layout app for type. Recraft for marks. One model for ten jobs is how tile 6 is a remix of tile 2 with new lighting.

Why is Versely in the middle of the list, not first?

Because this page is the set, not a homepage. Banana 2 and Ideogram V4 are real carousel rows. They are not Canva's Brand Kit or Figma's components. If you needed volume stills on one bill, Versely is the row. If you needed Magic Resize into four networks, it is not.
