6 apps for Pinterest video pins

Pinterest, Canva, Photoroom, Versely, CapCut, and Adobe Express make video Pins. Four seconds minimum. Mute autoplay. Write the search text.

A video Pin is not a Reel with a different logo. Pinterest Help on Pin specs (read 20 September 2026) sets organic video Pins at a 4 second minimum and a 5 minute maximum, H.264 or H.265, MP4 or M4V on web, MOV too on iOS and Android. Full-bleed recommendation is 9:16 or 1080x1920. Other allowed ratios: 1:2, 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 1:1. Safe zones are large: top 270px, left 65, right 195, bottom 790. Title 100 characters. Description 800 characters, used for relevance, not shown in the home feed. Pinterest already has a Pin builder. This page is six apps for the file you upload into it. Pinterest native is the last mile. Canva is the 2:3 template most shops already have. Photoroom is the still. Versely is motion from that still, or a one-tap if the Pin is allowed to be a gag. CapCut is the timeline. Adobe Express is the other brand seat. This is not a TikTok roundup. Mute autoplay is the product.

If your clip is 3.9 seconds, Pinterest will not take it. Pad a 6s generate, or hold the last frame. Do not ship a 3s gag and hope.

What a video Pin has to survive

The grid is silent. The first frame is the thumbnail. A voiceover that explains the product does nothing until someone taps. Type in the frame has to read at a glance, and it has to sit inside that 790px bottom hole. Pinterest's UI is hungrier than TikTok's caption stack.

Two spec sheets get mixed up.

Organic video Pins. 4 seconds to 5 minutes. Review Pin specs. 9:16 for full bleed, or 2:3 if you want the Pin to sit like an image Pin.

Video ads. Pinterest product specs (read 20 September 2026) allow 4 seconds to 15 minutes, recommend 6 to 15 seconds, up to 2 GB, square or vertical (2:3, 4:5, or 9:16). Max-width video ads are paid only. Do not build an organic Pin to the ad ceiling and call it a Pin.

Descriptions do not appear in the home feed. They still matter. Pinterest says the algorithm uses them for relevance. Write the search terms a person would type: "oak nightstand assembly," not "wait for it." Title is 100 characters. The first 40 may show. For Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic, Pinterest says the first 30.

A 9:16 Reel export will upload. A 2:3 crop often sits better next to still Pins. Decide the grid, then the app.

    The six apps

    1. Pinterest. Start here for the upload, the title, the 800-character description, and the destination URL. The Pin builder is the product. Nothing else on this list posts the Pin for you in a way that replaces that form. Use it. The limit is generation. Pinterest will not lock a face or run a finger-snap. It will take the MP4 you already have, if that MP4 is at least 4 seconds and inside the ratio list. If you only needed to publish a clip you already exported, stop. The other five apps are how the clip gets made.

    2. Canva. Open Canva when the Pin has to look like the rest of the catalog. Pinterest-sized templates, 2:3 and 9:16, a brand kit, type you can still edit after the motion is placed. Canva's pricing page (read 20 September 2026) lists Pro at $144 a year where USD is published. Independent 2026 AI-table reads (The Rundown, 29 August 2026; Moda, 9 September 2026) give Pro up to 2,000 Standard, 200 Premium, or 20 Ultra AI uses a month, shared. Image-to-video is Premium. High-quality video is Ultra. A catalog of 40 SKUs will eat Ultra in a week if you generate every clip there. Use Canva for the frame and the title treatment. Generate volume somewhere else. Magic Resize is the honest extra: one design, 2:3 for the grid and 9:16 for full bleed.

    3. Photoroom. Open Photoroom when the still is a bag on a stockroom table. Photoroom's pricing (read 19 September 2026) puts Pro at $12.99 a month ($7.50 yearly) for cutouts and 1,000 exports. Video is not on Pro. Max at $34.99 ($20.99 yearly) adds the video generator, up to 50 generations. Ultra at $99 ($82.50 yearly) adds up to 150. Independent reads put video at 500 credits a call. Pinterest will autoplay whatever you give it. A dirty sweep becomes a dirty loop. Cut the still on Pro. Animate on Max, or export the cutout and animate in CapCut or Versely. Do not pay Max for video if you only needed the white field.

    4. Versely. Versely sits here because a lot of video Pins are one locked still that needs to move for 6 to 10 seconds, which clears Pinterest's 4 second floor. The AI video generator with Hailuo 2.3 Fast is 12 credits at 6s discounted (23 full) and 23 at 10s (45 full). That is an orbit, a steam rise, a lid turn. Mini Me is one photo into a desk-figure orbit, about 74 credits discounted (109 full), which is a Pin-shaped object shot, not a dance. Finger Snap is about 18 discounted. Do not run Finger Snap on a nightstand. Do not run Hailuo on a selfie you wanted as a mugshot. Burn searchable words as overlay, not as generated letters. Versely is not Canva. It will not store your 2:3 brand kit. It is not Photoroom. It will not be your MAIN still pipeline. It is the app when the still is locked and you want 6 or 10 seconds of motion without opening a cinema seat.

    5. CapCut. Open CapCut when you need to hold a frame out to 4 seconds, crop 9:16 to 2:3, and burn a title that sits above the 790px danger zone. CapCut's generator will also animate a product still. A June 2026 CapCut stills workflow is the demo. The 16 September 2026 Seedance 2.5 tutorial is launch-prep. Free is enough for a weekly Pin. The Pinterest-specific job is the crop and the hold. A 6s Hailuo clip that you letterbox into 2:3 in CapCut is a real Pin. A 9:16 Reel with a TikTok caption stack is a Reel you uploaded to the wrong grid.

    6. Adobe Express. Open Adobe Express when the shop already lives in Adobe, not Canva. Adobe Express pricing (read 20 September 2026) lists Premium at $9.99 a month, 250 generative credits, premium templates, Resize, 4K export on Premium. Free will make a 2:3 video template. Premium is the brand kit, the stock library, and the credit pool. Video generation burns those 250 credits faster than a static resize. Use Express to layout the Pin: 1000x1500 for 2:3, or 1080x1920 for full bleed, type in the safe area, then drop in an MP4 from Photoroom, Versely, or CapCut. Do not spend the credit pool on a cinema model Express is not trying to be.

How to pick for a mute grid

Write the Pin in one sentence.

    • "I already have the MP4": Pinterest builder. Title, 800-character description, URL.
    • "It has to match the catalog templates": Canva, or Express if that is the seat you pay for.
    • "The bag looks like the stockroom": Photoroom, then motion.
    • "The still is locked, I need 6 or 10 seconds": Versely Hailuo. Mini Me if the object gag is the Pin.
    • "I need a 2:3 crop and a title hold": CapCut.
    • "The still is a face trend": probably the wrong platform. Pinterest search is "how do I," not "watch me snap."

Two apps is a shop. Photoroom plus Canva covers a still Pin that happens to move. Photoroom plus Versely plus the Pin builder covers a motion SKU. CapCut plus Pinterest covers a crop. Six apps is a stack the intern will not remember.

Keep every word above the bottom 790px on a 1080x1920 file if you follow Pinterest's own safe zone. That is most of the lower third. A CTA at the bottom of a Reel is invisible on a Pin.

    After the 4 second floor

Play the Pin on mute. If you cannot tell what it is in the first frame, the description will not save you, because the description is not on the grid.

Write the 800 characters anyway. Pinterest said so. Use the words a shopper types.

If you promote the Pin later, the ad spec is a different ceiling (15 minutes, 6 to 15 seconds recommended). The organic Pin you made at 8 seconds is already in the ad-length sweet spot. Do not rebuild it.

Eyedropper the field. Off-white becomes a dirty loop on a true-white idea of the product. Proof the label after motion.

When the still is locked and the job is a short orbit that clears 4 seconds, sign up and run Hailuo. When the still is the Pin, stay in Photoroom and Canva. The list is six apps. The grid is mute.

    FAQ

Can I upload a 9:16 Reel as a video Pin?

Yes, if it is at least 4 seconds. It may look tall next to 2:3 still Pins. Crop in CapCut or Canva if the grid is mostly 2:3. Keep type out of the bottom 790px either way.

Why is Versely in the middle, not first?

Because Pinterest, Canva, and Photoroom already own the Pin, the template, and the still. Hailuo and Mini Me are real motion from one photo. They are not a Pin builder. If the still is locked and you need 6 seconds, Versely is the row. If the still only needed a 2:3 crop, it is not.

Does a voiceover help on Pinterest?

After the tap, sometimes. On the grid, never. Autoplay is mute. Put the product name in the pixels (as overlay, not generated letters) and in the 800-character description. Save the voice for YouTube.
