7 tools for SFX under a packshot
Epidemic Sound, Artlist, ElevenLabs, Versely, Adobe Firefly, Freesound, and YouTube Audio Library cover a packshot hit. A whoosh is not a song.
The pack turns. You need a hit, a whoosh, a lid click, not a song. Seven tools will give you that transient. Epidemic Sound is a huge SFX catalog with the same license as the music. Artlist is the other catalog. ElevenLabs is a generate from a text prompt on the same credits as speech. Versely is a 2-credit Sounds call, or an agent job, not a 3-credit song. Adobe Firefly generates a commercially-safe effect inside Firefly. Freesound is a Creative Commons grab bag. YouTube Audio Library is free and YouTube-first. This page is that list. It is not a music roundup. It is not "best AI sound design 2026."
A whoosh is generate a sound effect, not a song prompt. If you ask a music model for "cinematic hits in the score," you will get a piece of music, then hunt for a transient that was never spotted to the cut. A whoosh is generate_sound_effect, not a song prompt is the routing rule.
What SFX under a packshot actually is
The job is a short non-speech event locked to the picture: the bottle lands, the cap twists, the card snaps, air moves on the cut.
Packshot picture is often a still you animated. Hailuo 2.3 Fast on image-to-video is 12 credits at 6s discounted (23 full) and 23 at 10s (45 full) for a cheap orbit. That row does not give you a designed lid click. Native-audio video models bake room tone. Use this list for the effect the bake missed.
Three failure modes:
- Generating a song and cropping a snare. Wrong tool. Wrong length.
- Regenerating the video because the hit is two frames late. Slip the SFX clip.
- Using a non-commercial CC file under a paid ad. Freesound is not a license desk.
Duration is the brief. A 0.3-second click is not a 10-second whoosh. Say the length. Loop only if the bed is ambience (fridge hum, soft room), not if the event is a hit.
The seven tools
1. Epidemic Sound. Start here if you already pay Epidemic for music, and the packshot should share that paper. Pricing-and-plans (read 20 September 2026, yearly) lists Creator at $9.99 a month billed $119.88 yearly, and Pro at $16.99 a month billed $203.88 yearly. Unlimited music and sound effects are on both. Creator is social, podcasts, web, one channel, no digital ads. Pro is ads and clients. The SFX library is the same subscription as the tracks. Plan pages quote 250,000 Hollywood-grade sound effects. Search "whoosh," "cap," "impact." Download. Spot to the frame. You are not prompting. You are picking. Organic packshot: Creator. Paid packshot: Pro. Do not buy a second SFX app if Epidemic already sits on the timeline.
2. Artlist. Open Artlist when the packshot lives next to Artlist footage or music. Stock SFX is a catalog seat. Artlist's pricing explainer lists Music & SFX Social at $9.99 a month billed annually ($14.99 monthly) and Music & SFX Pro at $24.92 a month billed annually. Social is one channel. Pro covers client work and paid ads. Help center: Pro is currently annual-only. Artlist also sells SFX-only plans on some pages. Confirm the live stock checkout if you only need hits. The AI pricing view (read 20 September 2026) is a generate bucket (AI Core $23.99 a month billed annually, 40,000 credits). Do not spend AI video credits to invent a whoosh Epidemic-class catalogs already filed under "whoosh." Search first. Generate later.
3. ElevenLabs. Open ElevenLabs when the hit does not exist in a catalog: a specific plastic, a branded chime, a texture you can describe. Sound Effects sits on the ElevenLabs pricing page (read 20 September 2026) from Free up. Free is $0 with 10,000 credits. Starter is $6 with 30,000 and a commercial license. Creator is $22 with 50 percent off the first month ($11) and 121,000 credits. Pro is $99 with 600,000. SFX shares that pool with TTS and Music. A packshot whoosh that burns next week's voiceover is a bad trade. Prompt the material and the duration. Do not prompt a song. If the same account already cloned the founder, keep SFX short so speech still has credits.
4. Versely. Versely sits here because the packshot often already moved on this login, and the missing file is a hit, not a chorus. The published Sounds card is Suno Sounds V5.5: 2 credits a call, text-to-audio, looping, tempo, key. Catalog Sounds V6 / Mini / Wild are also 2 credits flat in models.json (20 September 2026). They are unpublished as /models. Cite 2. Do not link /models/suno-sounds-v6. The signed-in song family (Suno V6 / Mini / Wild) is 3 credits a generation, two takes. That is a song. It is the wrong meter for a lid click. Use the Sounds call or generate a sound effect. Then place the clip. Do not regenerate Hailuo 2.3 Fast hoping the next 12-credit orbit includes a designed whoosh. Credits are not USD. Versely is not Epidemic's 250,000-file desk. It is the generate when the catalog did not have this plastic.
5. Adobe Firefly. Open Firefly when the packshot already lives in Adobe, and legal wants Adobe's commercially-safe sentence. Adobe's sound effect generator page (read 20 September 2026) lists Firefly Free with daily generations, Standard at US$9.99 a month with 2,000 generative credits, Pro at US$19.99 a month with 4,000 credits, and Pro Plus at US$49.99 a month (first-year offer US$34.97, ends 21 October 2026) with 10,000 credits. Generate Sound Effects is a Firefly Audio Model job. You can time it with a voice performance. Music, speech, and SFX went broadly available on 20 August 2026 per Adobe's own blog. Partner models in the same studio do not automatically inherit Firefly's training-data story. Native Firefly SFX is the commercially-safe claim. A whoosh is a credit draw on that pool, shared with video. Do not blow Standard's 2,000 credits on five-second videos and then wonder why the packshot is silent.
6. Freesound. Open Freesound when the budget is zero and you will read the license on this file, not the homepage. Freesound hosts user uploads under Creative Commons variants. Some are CC0. Some are CC-BY. Some are non-commercial. A packshot for a paid ad cannot wear NC. Attribution, if required, has to live somewhere a lawyer will accept. Freesound is not a subscription. It is not a claim desk. It is a search box over other people's recordings. Preview. Read the deed. Download. Spot. If you cannot explain the license in one sentence, pick Epidemic or Artlist.
7. YouTube Audio Library. Open YouTube's library when the packshot will live on YouTube and you want a free effect with a Google-shaped paper. The YouTube Audio Library is free inside Studio. Sound effects sit beside tracks. Per-item attribution rules still apply. This is a YouTube-first library. Do not assume a YouTube-cleared whoosh is cleared for Meta Spark or CTV. If the packshot is a YouTube Short and the hit is generic, this is enough. If the packshot is a paid placement, go back to Epidemic Pro or Artlist Pro.
How to pick without a Foley stage
Photograph or cut out the unit first. Animate second. Spot SFX third.
- Already on Epidemic or Artlist for music: search SFX there. Same license.
- Need a described hit, already on ElevenLabs for VO: generate SFX, watch the shared credits.
- Need a described hit on the Versely bill: 2-credit Sounds or the agent job, not the 3-credit song family.
- Already in Firefly for the still: Firefly SFX, native model.
- Zero budget, YouTube only: Audio Library, then Freesound if you read the deed.
Two tools is a packshot stack. Photoroom or a camera, plus Epidemic. Or Hailuo plus a 2-credit Sounds call. Seven tools is a lid click with seven tabs.
Slip the audio. Do not regenerate the orbit.
After the hit is on the frame
Listen on a phone. If the whoosh masks the VO, it is too long or too loud. Hits are short.
Mute still needs the price as type you can edit, not as a generated shout. Caption the offer.
When the still is locked and the missing file is a hit, sign up and generate the effect. When the catalog already has the whoosh, stay in Epidemic or Artlist. The list is seven tools. The packshot is one transient.
FAQ
Can I prompt Suno V6 for a whoosh at 3 credits?
You can. You will usually get a musical phrase. The 2-credit Sounds call or generate_sound_effect is the hit tool. Three is the song family. Do not spend a song generate on a click.
Is Freesound fine for a paid Amazon clip?
Only if that file is CC0 or another license that allows commercial use. Many are not. Epidemic Pro or Artlist Pro is the boring safe pick for a paid packshot.
Why is Versely fourth, not first?
Because Epidemic and Artlist are the catalogs you should search first, and ElevenLabs is the dedicated audio vendor. Versely is the 2-credit generate beside the pack orbit. If you do not animate here, you may not need it.
