Billing type is the catalogue's name for the meter. Per-second is the taxi: longer output, larger bill. Close cousins exist on the same page — a base charge plus a per-second rate, a per-second rate that also changes with resolution or with whether audio is on, a flat fee that does not care how long the clip runs. Carrying the last model's habit onto the next one is how a ten-second 'tweak' surprises you.
Duration is the lever you actually have. Draft at the shortest option the model sells, lock the prompt and the seed, then pay for the longer pass on the take you are keeping. Extend-retake is a second job with its own seconds, not free continuation. A flat-billed model does not reward this discipline on length; a per-megapixel still model does not have seconds at all.
Credits are Versely's wrapper around that arithmetic. The second is what the provider charged; the credit is the number deducted so you are not comparing a Kling second to a Flux megapixel. Read the model's billing type before you assume a longer slider is 'a bit more.' On a pure per-second row it is linearly more. On a flat row it is not.
In practice
- Check billing type before you lengthen a clip. Flat rows do not charge for the extra seconds; per-second rows do.
- Draft short, finish long, and treat every extend as a new metered job.
- Turning native audio off, where the rate splits on audio, is often a larger save than shaving one second.

The mistake to avoid
Assuming every video model is per-second because the last one was. The catalogue mixes meters, and the slider is not a price tag on a flat row.

Billing type
Billing type is which measurable thing a model's price is actually keyed to — time, a flat per-job charge, or the size of the input or output — and it is why two models can charge wildly different credit totals for what looks like the same request.
Credit
A credit is Versely's own metering unit — a fixed amount is deducted from your balance for each generation, so one number covers every provider's wildly different native pricing.
Duration
Duration meaning: how long a generated clip runs, chosen before generation from the lengths the model supports, not trimmed after.
Seat
A seat is one named user on a team plan. Per-seat pricing charges for each of those people; Versely does not — credits are shared, not licensed per head.
Credit pack
A credit pack is a one-time purchase of Versely credits — the metering unit — topping up the same balance a subscription already grants.
