Two rules follow from that. Run these last, because enhancing a file you are still editing means enhancing material you may delete. And run them once: upscaling an upscale compounds artefacts rather than detail, and extending an extension drifts further from the original shot each time.

1. Lock the edit before you enhance
Enhancement is priced against the material you feed it. Feed it only the material that survived the cut.
2. Extend if the cut lands short
Extension continues from your final frames, so the more stable the ending, the more convincing the added seconds.

Does upscaling recover detail that wasn't filmed?+
No. It reconstructs plausible detail at a higher resolution. That is genuinely useful for delivery — a 4K file for a paid placement, a print-resolution still — but it cannot read a licence plate that was never legible, and pushing it to try produces invented texture.
How far can a clip be extended?+
Each extension generates new seconds from the final frames of the previous ones, so quality holds for a beat or two and then drifts. Extend once to fix a cut that lands short; if you need substantially more, generate a new shot instead.
Are extracted frames good enough for thumbnails?+
From a high-resolution source, yes — and it is the fastest route to a thumbnail that matches the video, which matters more for click-through than a separately designed image that promises a different clip.
