Nano Banana Lite to Omni Flash

Lock stills on Nano Banana 2 Lite (~4s; Google's $0.000034/image), then revise the motion pass on Omni Flash. Credits on Versely.

Lock the frame as a still on Nano Banana 2 Lite, animate it, then revise the take on Gemini Omni Flash. Do not discover the jacket was wrong at video prices.

Google shipped Gemini Omni Flash on 30 June 2026 as conversational video editing. Google's third-party price was $0.10 per second at 720p, and the stills partner was Nano Banana 2 Lite (gemini-3.1-flash-lite-image), about four seconds a still at $0.000034 per image (The Next Web; Google's Omni docs; TechCrunch on Gemini Omni at I/O, 19 May 2026). Those dollar figures are Google's. They are not Versely rates. On Versely, Lite is the cheap stills tier in the Nano Banana family (3 credits a call in the catalog data). Flash Edit bills in credits per second of the source clip (10 a second on the published card). Always read the card you are about to run.

This page is the recommended production loop. It is not "when is Lite enough versus Pro" — that routing guide already exists. It is not how to chain Flash edit turns as a craft — that guide already exists. It is not a Sora migration. It is stills, then motion, then notes.

Discover the frame as a still

Video is a slow, expensive way to find out the product is the wrong colour.

Lite exists for that discovery. Google positioned Nano Banana 2 Lite for high-throughput, low-latency stills, not hero key art. Text-to-image only, fixed 1K output, a wide aspect list. About four seconds. The API id is gemini-3.1-flash-lite-image. On Versely, the card for the fuller family is Nano Banana 2 (4 credits, was 7; references, edit, up to 4K). Use Lite when the still is a plate you might throw away. Use Nano Banana 2 when the still has to survive a client or hold a pack across a set.

Sign the still off before you buy motion. Face, wardrobe, product, room, the words on the label if the label matters. If you cannot approve the freeze-frame, you will not approve the clip, and Flash will not rescue a plate you never liked. Flash revises a video. It does not invent a product you refused to lock.

Aspect is a stills decision. 9:16, 1:1, 16:9 — pick it here, not after a 10-second generate you will crop. Lite's aspect list is the reason the cheap tier is the right place to try the frame. A 1K plate is enough to judge composition for social. It is not always enough for a 4K site hero. If the deliverable is a site hero, you are not in this loop; you are in a hero stills row.

Do not skip the still because Gemini Omni, as a family, is any-to-any. Omni at I/O (19 May 2026) takes text, image, audio, and video in, and returns editable video. That is Google's architecture. On Versely, the edit card that matters is Gemini Omni Flash Edit: video in, instruction in, revised video out. The still is how you got a video worth editing. It is not an optional moodboard.

    Three steps, one credit pool

The loop is boring on purpose.

    1. Still. Generate on Lite until the frame is the one you would print. If the job needs a reference pack or an edit of an existing photograph, you already left Lite — that is Nano Banana 2 or Pro. For a from-scratch plate, stay on Lite. Four seconds a try is how you stay in the conversation instead of waiting on a video queue to tell you the mug is wrong.

    2. Motion. Send the signed still into an image-to-video or reference-to-video row, or generate the first talking pass on a text-to-video row if the still was only a look-dev. Gemini Omni Video is the generate family on the Omni side: prompt plus optional references, 4–10 seconds, up to 4K. Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.0, Kling rows — pick the job, not the brand. The AI video generator is the launcher for this step. Flash is not this launcher.

    3. Notes. One instruction per Flash Edit turn, against the take you would be sad to lose. "Replace the plain carton with the branded pack, keep the hands." Then "warm the grade toward late afternoon, same framing." Each turn takes the previous output as ground truth. That is why the loop does not resample the actor. It is also why a vague "make it better" is a bad turn.

Credits on Versely are the only prices that meter here. Lite is a flat per-call still. Omni Video is a generate with its own credit card. Flash Edit is 10 credits per second of the source clip, every turn. A 10-second take with four notes is four passes over ten seconds. Trim before you edit. Do not "ask Flash for a longer clip." You bring a clip.

Google's $0.10/s and $0.000034/image are useful only as a reminder that the vendor's public API and a studio catalog are different quotes. They are not the in-app rate.

Gemini Omni Flash Image to Video sat at #1 on Versely's own video leaderboard on 4 September 2026. That is a ranking fact about a generate sibling, not a reason to skip the still. Leaderboards measure takes people preferred. They do not measure whether you locked the jacket.

Lite versus the fuller Nano Banana 2 row

    Stay on Lite when:

    • the still is from scratch, not an edit of a photograph
    • you are iterating composition, wardrobe, or colour, and expect to throw most of the grid away
    • 1K is enough to judge the frame
    • speed is the actual bottleneck — four seconds keeps you in the loop

Move to Nano Banana 2 when:

    • you must attach references (the pack, the face, the room)
    • you are editing an existing still, not generating one
    • the still is the deliverable, not a plate for motion
    • you need the extra quality step the family actually charges for (4 credits, was 7, vs Lite's 3)

Pro is a third object: hero stills, 4K, the key visual that will not be animated. If the still is going straight to a landing page, this Lite-to-Flash loop is the wrong pipeline. You are in a stills pipeline. Flash will not make a 1K plate into a poster.

The failure mode is using Nano Banana 2 for the thirty drafts and Lite for the one you keep. Invert that. Drafts are Lite. The signed plate is whatever the plate has to survive. If the signed plate needs references, it was never a Lite job.

    What Flash will not invent

Flash is an editor. Treat it like one.

It will not be the first twelve seconds of a scene you never generated. A blank prompt belongs on a generate row.

It will not recompose a camera that was never in the file. A new angle is a generate. "Push in" on a locked take can work; "shoot it from the other side of the kitchen" will not.

It will not restage a spoken line on Versely's Edit endpoint. The edit card is a visual pass. Changing what a character says is a voice pass, a dub, or a new talking generate. Do not burn a turn on dialogue and call the model broken.

It will not be a storyboard. Three rooms are three generates, then a cut. Conversational turns will not invent the other two setups.

It will not cheapen a bad plate. If the still was wrong, go back to step one. Editing motion that was born from a wrong still is how the loop becomes a money pit.

Audio written into a generate prompt is not an edit instruction. If you needed native sound, that was the motion step's job, on a row that actually produces it. Flash will not reliably add a performance the take never had.

When the next clip should start as a cheap still and only then become a video you are willing to note, sign up and run the three steps on one bill.

    FAQ

Does Nano Banana 2 Lite have its own model page?

No. The catalog includes the Lite row, and it appears as a variant on the Nano Banana 2 page. Use Lite in the app when the still is a draft plate.

Why not generate the first take on Omni Flash and skip stills?

Because Flash Edit wants a video. The generate family (Omni Video, Veo, Seedance, Kling) is how you start motion. Stills are how you avoid paying those rows to find out the pack is wrong. Google's own recommended pairing in the June 2026 write-ups was Lite then Flash for a reason.

Are Google's $0.10/s and $0.000034/image what Versely charges?

No. Those are Google's third-party figures from the June 2026 reporting, attributed to Google. Versely meters the same jobs in credits on the catalog card. Read the card.
