Omni 1.1 Flash: what changed
27 Aug 2026 Omni 1.1 Flash adds 10s scene context, a 40s cap, 360p drafts, first-last, and a 3s video ref. Versely still ships Omni Flash rows.
Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash is Google’s 27 August 2026 production update of Omni Flash, not a new Versely catalog slug. The model id is gemini-omni-1.1-flash. Scene extend now reads up to ten seconds of prior context instead of the last second, then continues in ten-second increments to a forty-second cumulative cap. First and last frame interpolation, 360p drafts Google claims are up to 60% faster and one-third the cost of 720p, 1080p/4K upscale, and a video reference of up to three seconds are the rest of the changelog. Versely still publishes Gemini Omni Flash Edit and Gemini Omni Video. Do not look for /models/gemini-omni-1-1-flash.
That is the whole update. The rest of this page is the June 30 row versus the August 27 row, so you stop mixing Google’s surfaces with the two Omni rows that actually bill credits.
June 30 was the Flash you already knew
Google shipped Gemini Omni Flash on 30 June 2026 as conversational video editing: generate or edit a short clip, then keep talking to it. Third-party coverage at the time (The Next Web, citing Google) put 720p at $0.10 per second on Google’s own meter. That dollar figure is Google’s, not Versely’s. On Versely the June-lineage work is two rows, not a per-second USD ticker.
Gemini Omni Flash Edit is video-to-video: from 50 credits, conversational edit, audio off on that card. You already have a clip. You tell it what to change. The camera move and blocking stay; the surface changes. That is the June product in production language.
Gemini Omni Video is the generate side of the same family: text-to-video, image-to-video, and reference-to-video; 4s / 6s / 8s / 10s; 720p / 1080p / 4K; from 29 credits; a multimodal quota of images + videos*2 + character_ids <= 7. That card is how you start a clip, not how you extend it to forty seconds.
Neither card is Omni 1.1 Flash. Google’s 27 August Keyword post is explicit: the production-ready update is gemini-omni-1.1-flash, reached through Google AI Studio, the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, Google Flow for AI Plus / Pro / Ultra, and scene extension in the Gemini app. Adobe Firefly, Figma Weave, Runway, and GMI Cloud are named as Omni Flash customers. That list is Google’s customer list. It is not a Versely changelog.
If your week is “edit this take, keep the blocking,” you are still on the Edit row. If your week is “prompt plus optional refs, 4–10 seconds,” you are still on Omni Video. 1.1 did not silently replace those SKUs.
What 27 August actually added
Google’s changelog is five controls, not a quality adjective.
Scene extension with ten seconds of memory. Previous Omni extend looked at the last second. 1.1 looks at up to ten seconds of prior context, then writes the next ten seconds. You can stack those increments until the file is forty seconds cumulative. That is a Google-surface control. It is not VEO 3.1 Extend Video, which is a different Google row with a different contract (7s listed duration, native audio, Veo family). Mixing “Omni extend” and “Veo extend” is how a forty-second Omni story becomes a Veo stitch you did not mean to buy.
First and last frame. You hand the model a start still and an end still. It interpolates the shot between them — orbits, whip-pans, loops. That is not “image-to-video with a poetic prompt.” Two pixels, one journey. Veo’s version of the same idea is VEO First Last Frame: 4 / 6 / 8 seconds, 4K, from 64 credits, native audio. The glossary term is first-last-frame. Omni 1.1’s version lives on Google’s 1.1 surface. Three similar names, three meters.
360p drafts. Google’s claim, 27 August 2026: 360p previews are up to 60% faster and one-third the cost of Omni 1.1’s standard 720p, based on system throughput. Then you upscale the keeper to 1080p or 4K. Drafts are for iteration. Delivery is the upscale. Burning 720p on a prompt you have not locked is the old Omni habit 1.1 is trying to price you out of.
Video reference, up to three seconds. Not twelve files. Not a character-id stack. Three seconds of video as multimodal input so identity and motion have pixels to copy. Seedance 2.0’s multi-reference stack is a different product; do not import that number onto Omni.
Access, not a new slug. AI Studio, Agent Platform, Flow (Plus / Pro / Ultra), Gemini app for extend. That map is the sixth post in this set. This page only needs you to stop searching the Versely catalog for a 1.1 SKU.
What did not change, and what you should not invent
Omni Flash as a job did not become Veo. Veo 3.1 is still the 4 / 6 / 8 second cinematic generate with native audio and a 4K tier, from 64 credits. Omni Flash Edit is still the conversational retouch, from 50 credits. Omni Video is still the 4–10 second multimodal generate, from 29 credits. 1.1 is Google adding controls on Google’s door.
Do not write these into a brief:
- A Versely slug named
gemini-omni-1-1-flash. It is not in the published catalog. - “Omni 1.1 is 40 seconds on Versely.” The Versely Omni Video card tops out at 10 seconds. Forty seconds is the Google 1.1 extend cap.
- “360p is free.” Google said cheaper and faster than 720p, not free.
- “First-last on Omni 1.1 is the Veo first-last row.” Different model family, different audio flag, different credit line.
- “Video ref is Seedance’s twelve-file brief.” Three seconds of video is a clip, not a folder.
The honest routing for a Versely week is unchanged: generate on Gemini Omni Video or Veo 3.1 depending on the shot; retouch on Omni Flash Edit; caption in the editor; burn captions before you upload. If you specifically need 1.1’s ten-second-context extend, first-last interpolation, or 360p draft loop, you are on Google’s surface that day. Bring the file back. Do not rebuild the studio inside Flow because the changelog was long.
Article 50 still applies to the output whichever door you used. If the clip goes to an EU audience as a realistic synthetic, label it. The template is Article 50 disclosure.
The June vs August cheat sheet
Use this when a teammate pastes the Keyword post into Slack and asks whether the catalog “already has it.”
| Control | Omni Flash (30 June 2026 lineage) | Omni 1.1 Flash (27 Aug 2026) | On Versely today |
|---|---|---|---|
| Model id | Omni Flash / preview ids from June | gemini-omni-1.1-flash |
gemini-omni-flash-edit, gemini-omni-video |
| Generate length | Short clips; Versely Omni Video 4–10s | Same generate, plus extend | 4–10s on Omni Video |
| Extend memory | Last 1 second of prior video | Up to 10 seconds of prior context | Not a 1.1 extend row |
| Extend cap | Short continuation | 10s steps to 40s cumulative | Not 40s |
| First + last frame | Not the June headline | Interpolation between two stills | Use Veo first-last if you need it here |
| Draft res | 720p as the working default | 360p drafts, then 1080p/4K upscale | Omni Video already lists 720p/1080p/4K |
| Video ref | Multimodal refs on Omni Video (quota ≤ 7) | Up to 3 seconds of video | Omni Video quota, not a 3s 1.1 control |
| Where you press generate | Gemini app, Flow, API, Versely rows | AI Studio, Agent Platform, Flow, Gemini app extend | Versely rows above |
Read the table left to right. The middle column is Google’s 27 August post. The right column is what a credit on Versely actually buys. If the job is in the middle column and not the right, you are not blocked — you are on a different door for that one control.
When the job is “start a 6-second Omni clip with a still and a prompt,” stay. When the job is “keep this scene alive for forty seconds with ten seconds of memory,” leave for 1.1, then come back to caption. The AI video generator is the Versely door for the rows we actually publish.
If you are ready to run the Omni Flash rows we do have, sign up and pick Edit or Omni Video by the job, not by the Google blog title.
FAQ
Is Omni 1.1 Flash in the Versely catalog?
No. The published Google Omni rows are Gemini Omni Flash Edit (video-to-video, from 50 credits) and Gemini Omni Video (4–10s generate, from 29 credits). Google’s model id gemini-omni-1.1-flash is the 27 August surface in AI Studio, Agent Platform, Flow, and the Gemini app. Do not invent a third slug.
Did 1.1 replace Omni Flash Edit?
No. Edit is still the conversational retouch: change the jacket, keep the blocking. 1.1 added extend memory, first-last interpolation, 360p drafts, 4K upscale, and a 3-second video reference on Google’s door. Those are controls. They are not a rename of the Edit card, which starts at 50 credits.
Can I get a 40-second clip from Versely’s Omni Video row?
Not as a single Omni 1.1-style extend. Omni Video publishes 4s, 6s, 8s, and 10s. Forty seconds is Google’s cumulative extend cap on 1.1. If you need a native 30-second single pass on Versely, that is a different family: Seedance 2.5, 4–30s, 720p, from 34 credits (was 67), native audio.
