Replies do not count toward X eligibility

500k verified Home Timeline impressions exclude reply impressions. A reply-guy strategy will not qualify you.

A reply is not an original post. Original Content Rewards eligibility includes 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, and impressions on replies are excluded. Living in other people's mentions will not get you to the bar. It will get you a large, irrelevant impression number and a rejected application.

Original posts on the Home Timeline are the unit. The rest of the floor — 500 verified followers, Premium, original content — sits in X's new floor: 500 verified followers and 500k Premium impressions. This page is only the reply exclusion.

    What the exclusion is for

Reply-guy growth is a real distribution tactic. You attach to a larger account's thread, you pick up profile clicks, you farm a view counter. X looked at that pattern and took it out of the qualifying window. The impressions that count are Home Timeline impressions on your posts, from verified users, over 90 days — not the impressions your reply collected while nested under someone else.

    Two numbers people confuse:

The eligibility window. 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions in 90 days, replies out. This is the door.

The pay unit, after you are in. Unique Premium Home Timeline impressions with 50 percent of the post visible. Replies are the wrong object there too, but that is a payout definition, not this door.

Clearing a public "impressions" graph that is mostly replies is not progress toward the door. Filter the graph, or ignore it and count original posts.

What an original post is, for this bar

A post that can appear on someone else's Home Timeline as your card: a clip you made, a thread you started, a still with a claim, a piece of commentary that is the post rather than a nested aside. It has to be the thing a verified user would see while scrolling Home, not while reading a famous reply-chain.

That is also why "I will just reply with video" fails twice. The impression may be excluded as a reply, and the card is truncated in a thread, so you are not designing for Home Timeline viewability either.

Quote posts and posts that add material commentary can still be original content under the programme's originality notes. They are still your posts, not replies. The exclusion is reply impressions, not "any post that mentions another person." Do not hide in the reply field and call it a quote. Use the composer. Publish a post.

What a reply-guy calendar actually does

It can grow followers. Followers are a different line: 500 verified followers, not 500 people. A reply sprint that adds unverified mass does not move that line much, and it does not move the 500k line at all if those impressions are replies.

It can also spend the 90-day window. Every day you post only replies is a day of original-post inventory you did not ship. The window rolls. A month of mentions and two original clips is not a qualifying strategy that is "almost there." It is a strategy pointed at the excluded bucket.

If replies are how you draft in public — testing a take under a big account — lift the takes that work into standalone posts. Copy the line, attach the clip, publish from the composer so the card can sit on Home. The reply was research. The post is the unit.

A useful weekly habit: once a week, open your own replies, pick the three that got verified attention, and ship them as original posts with the media in the card. That is how a mentions habit funds the 500k instead of hiding from it.

A 90-day shape that can actually qualify

You cannot manufacture verified Home Timeline impressions out of nested comments. You can manufacture original posts.

    • Ship original posts on a cadence you can hold for 90 days, not a burst of replies in week twelve.
    • Put the media in the post, not in a reply to your own post.
    • Write for a Home Timeline card: short copy, visible media, a frame that reads without a thread.
    • Treat verified followers as a separate grind — replies might help discovery, but they are not the 500k.

If your analytics cannot separate reply impressions from post impressions, assume the reply share is larger than you hope, and over-index on original posts until Studio's Original Content Rewards eligibility view says otherwise. The product surface to trust is Creator Studio, not a third-party screenshot of "impressions."

    FAQ

Do impressions on my replies to my own posts count?

Treat them as replies unless Studio explicitly shows them in the qualifying total. The published rule excludes impressions on replies. A reply to yourself is still a reply. Put the clip in a new post.

Can I qualify on quote posts instead of "from-scratch" posts?

Quote posts can be original content when you add meaningful commentary. They are not replies. They can collect Home Timeline impressions as your post. A reply with a one-line "this" cannot. If the value is your commentary, publish it as a post or a quote, not as a nested reply.

Will a reply strategy at least help the 500 verified followers?

It might help discovery. It will not substitute for the 500k Home Timeline line, and verified followers are a different filter than raw follows. Do not run a mentions-only calendar and hope both lines move. Original posts are the unit that can move both without sitting in the excluded bucket.

How do I see whether I am close to 500k without counting replies?

Creator Studio → Original Content Rewards is the eligibility view X told people to use. If a public analytics graph includes replies, it is the wrong graph for this bar. Believe Studio over a vanity impression total.
