X's new floor: 500 verified followers and 500k Premium impressions

500 verified followers and 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions in 90 days. Replies do not count.

Original Content Rewards looks easier than Creator Revenue Sharing because the headline impression number shrank. Five million organic impressions became 500,000. That is a smaller bar. It is also a stricter definition.

The floor is 500 verified followers and 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days. Impressions on replies are excluded. That is not "500k views." It is not the old organic total with a zero knocked off.

    Smaller number, narrower meter

Revenue Sharing asked for a large pile of organic impressions. Almost any surface counted toward a number that large. Original Content Rewards asks for a smaller pile from a narrower pipe: verified accounts, Home Timeline, not replies.

Gate Old Revenue Sharing (typical) Original Content Rewards
Followers 500 followers 500 verified followers
Impressions 5 million organic, ~90 days 500,000 verified Home Timeline, 90 days
Replies Counted toward organic impressions Excluded
Creator subscription Premium Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business (not Basic)

A reply-heavy account could look fine on five million and fail 500,000. A search-and-profile account could look fine on five million and fail 500,000. An account whose audience is mostly unverified could look fine on five million and fail both the follower gate and the impression gate.

The 500,000 figure is also not the payout definition. Eligibility counts Home Timeline impressions from verified users. Payout counts unique impressions from Premium Basic, Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscribers, on the Home Timeline, with at least 50% of the post visible. X pays Premium Home Timeline impressions, not raw views. Clearing 500,000 verified timeline impressions is the door. It is not a forecast of the cheque.

Verified followers are the part people will miscount

Five hundred followers is easy to screenshot. Five hundred verified followers is a subset. X's own check is in Creator Studio → Original Content Rewards. Your public follower total is the wrong proxy.

    Two consequences:

    • Follow-for-follow and giveaway spikes that stacked unverified accounts do not move this gate. They never were a great idea under monetization standards. They are now irrelevant to the number that matters.
    • A small, verified audience can clear 500 while a large unverified one cannot. The program is built for the Premium-adjacent graph. Growing "anyone" is still useful for reach. It is not the eligibility metric.

If you are short, the work is distribution to verified accounts — collaborations, native posts that get into verified Home Timelines, topics those accounts already open X for — not a caption that asks people to follow. Soliciting engagement is its own eligibility problem.

    Replies are the other trap

Reply impressions are excluded from the 500,000. An account that lives in quote-posts and reply threads can be very good at X and still fail the gate.

That does not mean stop replying. Replies are how you get into other people's timelines. It means do not use reply analytics as a progress bar toward 500,000. The post that sits in Home Timeline as a post — not as a reply — is the unit. Threads you author still need the root post to travel as a post.

Off-timeline traffic has the same shape. Newsletter clicks, search, profile visits and embeds can grow the account and still sit outside this counter. They are worth doing. They are a different column. The Original Content Rewards cutover is a bad week to discover that your 90-day graph was mostly replies.

How to tell if you are actually close

You cannot reconstruct X's verified-Home-Timeline number from the public impression count. The public count applies none of the filters. Treat it as a ceiling.

    What you can do:

    1. Open Creator Studio → Original Content Rewards and believe that screen.
    2. If you are in, apply when the 8 September 2026 rollout reaches existing Revenue Sharing members. Re-enrolment is not automatic.
    3. If you are short on verified followers, ignore unverified totals and change who you are in front of.
    4. If you are short on the 500,000, look at whether your posts exist as posts on the Home Timeline or as replies and off-platform links. Shift the mix. Ninety days is the window; a week of "better captions" does not refill it.

Existing members of Revenue Sharing get a chance to apply from 8 September. The old 5 million does not grandfather you in. The new floor is the one the review will read. Good standing still sits on top of both numbers: a paused account does not enroll.

Do not plan a quarter around shrinking 5 million to 500,000 in a spreadsheet. Plan around verified followers and verified Home Timeline impressions, replies out. That is a smaller bar on a stricter meter, which is why some smaller accounts will make it and some larger ones will not.

    FAQ

Is 500,000 impressions easier than 5 million?

As a raw figure, yes. As a definition, not always. Verified users only, Home Timeline only, replies out, is a different set than organic impressions of any kind. Some accounts will clear 500,000 who never would have cleared 5 million. Some high-reply accounts will not.

Do my own Premium impressions on my posts count?

The eligibility gate is impressions from verified users on the Home Timeline. It is not a promise that your own account's views fill the bar. Do not try to farm the number by viewing yourself. Studio is the authority.

Why does the title say Premium impressions if X says verified?

Everyday shorthand. The published eligibility clause is Home Timeline impressions from verified users. The published payout clause is unique Premium-tier Home Timeline impressions with 50% visibility. They are related graphs, not the same counter. Use Studio, not the shorthand.

Can I buy verified followers to hit 500?

Buying followers is manufactured engagement under the monetization standards and a way to lose the program rather than enter it. Grow verified audience with posts that appear on their Home Timeline, or do not enter.
