Hailuo 2.3 Pro vs Fast, both silent

Hailuo 2.3 Pro is 40 credits, 1080p, audio false. Fast is 12 credits I2V. Neither row is a native-audio hero.

Hailuo 2.3 Pro is 40 credits, 1080p, 6s or 10s, audio false. Hailuo 2.3 Fast is 12 credits (was 23), image-to-video only, 6s or 10s, discounted, catalog audio unset. Both are silent plates. Neither is a native-audio hero. Pick Pro when you need the 1080p listing on a locked still. Pick Fast when you need cheaper I2V motion. Pick a different family when someone has to speak in the generate.

This page is the silent-pair pick. It is not Fast versus Standard quality, and it is not “when cheap length matches.” Same two durations. Two stickers. One missing soundtrack.

    Both cards are silent

Pro: audio false. Fast: audio null. False means the catalog is explicit — no soundtrack. Null means unset — not a native-audio promise. Do not plan a talking-head contract on either. Prompting a line of dialogue may paint a mouth or letter a title card. It will not return a VO track.

Native audio is a flag other rows publish as true: Veo 3.1 (64 credits, 4K, 4 / 6 / 8s), Flux 3 Text to Video (34 credits, 5–20s), LTX 2.3 Text to Video Fast (20 credits, 6–20s, 4K listing, optional native audio), Seedance 1.5 Pro Text to Video (4 credits, 1080p, 4–12s). Hailuo 2.3 Pro and Fast are not on that list. “Pro” is not “Pro with a mix.”

    What silence is for:

    • Pack motion, steam, a slow push, a turn.
    • B-roll under a TTS bed. Gemini 3.1 Flash TTS is 12 credits per 1,000 characters. Lay it after.
    • Feed cuts you will caption anyway. Mute autoplay will not play a native track even if you had one.

    What silence is not for:

    • A presenter who talks in-camera.
    • A 15-second hold with baked foley and a line.
    • Replacing a Sora 2 leftover that had native audio (Sora API shuts 24 September 2026, OpenAI Help Centre). A silent 6s Hailuo is a mix change.

Caption both rows if they ship to a feed. Add captions to a video. 21 BASIC at 1×, 9 DYNAMIC at 2×. Silence plus no type is a moving still.

Pro is 40 credits at 1080p

The Pro card: professional-grade video generation with enhanced features. Categories: image-to-video and text-to-video. requires_image: true. Audio: false. Durations: 6s, 10s. Max output: 1080p. Credits: 40. Not discounted on the published row.

The dual category is not a dual workflow. The image requirement wins. Bring a still. If you only have a sentence, this is the wrong row even though T2V is listed. Generate a still, approve it, come back. Running Pro from a paragraph is 40 credits of a plate you never signed.

1080p is the reason to pay 40 instead of 12. Fast does not publish a resolution ceiling on the catalog row (res is unset). Pro does: 1080p. If the insertion order pixel-peeps 1080p, Fast is look-dev or a feed draft. If the feed is phone-sized and the still is not a hero, 40 is optional.

Six or ten seconds, same as Fast. A seven-second idea buys 10. Start at 6s until the subject holds. Ten seconds of a drifting face is not more professional. It is four extra seconds of drift, 79 credits instead of 40.

Pro is not 4K. Pro is not 15s. Pro is not native audio. If those three are why you reached for Pro, you reached for the wrong family. Veo for 4K talking shorts. Seedance 1.5 Pro T2V or Flux 3 for cheaper native length. Kling 3 Turbo at 22 credits if you wanted silent T2V without a still.

    Use Pro when:

    • The still is a hero you would print.
    • 1080p is the master, or a reviewer will bounce an unset-resolution draft.
    • 6s or 10s of silent motion is the whole remaining job.
    • 40 credits is an approved spend for that remaining job.

Do not use Pro to “upgrade” a Fast keeper that already works on a phone. You will get a 1080p cousin, not an upscale of the Fast pixels. Promote the still and the motion sentence, once, if you must go Pro. Do not ping-pong.

Fast is 12 credits, I2V, discounted

The Fast card: Fast MiniMax Hailuo 2.3 image-to-video — quick, cost-efficient cinematic clips from a single image. Category: image-to-video only. Image required. Durations: 6s, 10s. Credits: 12 (was 23). Discounted. Audio unset. Resolution unset.

I2V only is the gate. No T2V category. No prompt-only door. Still in, clip out. That is the whole Fast job.

12 credits, discounted from 23, is the volume rung. Hunt the take here. If Fast’s motion is enough at phone size, stop. Do not “upgrade” for the word Pro.

    Use Fast when:

    • You already approved a still and you need to know whether it wants motion at all.
    • The cut is feed-sized and 6s or 10s is enough.
    • Audio will be TTS, stock, or nothing.
    • You will iterate. Sketch on 12, not on 40, and not on Veo at 64.

Do not use Fast when you have no still. That is Kling 3 Turbo (silent T2V, 22 credits, 3–15s) or a native-audio T2V row. Do not use Fast when the brief is a talking 4K hero. Do not use Fast as a 1080p master if someone will pixel-peep; the card does not list 1080p.

Same duration trap as Pro: 6 or 10. Fit the idea to six, or commit to ten. Two Fast plates for two claims often beat one ten-second plate that invents a second label.

Image aspect still matters. A 16:9 still becomes a wide clip. Crop the still to 9:16 before I2V if the destination is a vertical feed. Make a video vertical after the fact is a strip, not a restage.

Fast versus Pro is not Fast versus Standard. Hailuo 2.3 Standard is a third card: 23 credits, 1080p, audio false, I2V + T2V, image still required. If you are here to pick Pro or Fast, Standard is off the table unless 1080p at 23 is the actual need — and even then, Standard is still silent. This page does not restack that pair.

Native audio is a different family

A routing table for the silent pair:

    Need Row Sticker
    Cheap silent I2V, 6s / 10s, have a still Hailuo 2.3 Fast 12cr, discounted
    Silent I2V / listed T2V, 1080p, 6s / 10s, have a still Hailuo 2.3 Pro 40cr, audio false
    Silent T2V, no still, 3–15s Kling 3 Turbo 22cr
    Talking 4K, 4 / 6 / 8s Veo 3.1 64cr, audio true
    Talking T2V, 5–20s Flux 3 34cr, audio true
    Cheap native 1080p, 4–12s Seedance 1.5 Pro T2V 4cr, audio true
Optional native, 6–20s, 4K listing LTX 2.3 Fast 20cr, audio true

Pro versus Fast is the first two rows. The rest exist so you do not promote Pro because you wanted a voice. 40 is not closer to a soundtrack than 12 is. Both Hailuo cards are silent. The jump to a soundtrack is a family change, not a tier change.

Production order that does not double-bill:

    1. Still. Approve. Crop to the ship ratio.
    2. Fast at 6s. See whether the plate moves.
    3. If the feed accepts it, caption and ship.
    4. If a 1080p reviewer will bounce it, one Pro rerun with the same still and the same motion sentence.
    5. If someone must speak in-camera, abandon the pair. TTS under the Fast plate is still this family plus a voice at 12 credits per 1,000 characters. A talking generate is not.

Do not run Pro and Fast in parallel on the first still “to compare.” You already know the differences that are on the cards: 40 vs 12, 1080p listed vs unset, I2V+T2V listed vs I2V only, audio false vs audio unset, discounted vs not. Quality taste is a later, local check on your plate, not a reason to spend 52 credits to start.

The AI video generator is the run door. Image-to-video is the term. Bring the file.

If the next shot is a silent 6- or 10-second move off a still, pick Fast at 12 or Pro at 40 from Versely. If the next shot talks, pick a row whose audio field is true.

    FAQ

Does Hailuo 2.3 Pro add native audio over Fast?

No. Pro is audio false. Fast is audio unset. Pro adds a 1080p listing, a 40-credit sticker, and T2V in categories (image still required). It does not add a soundtrack.

Can I run Fast without a still because Pro lists text-to-video?

No. Fast is I2V only and requires an image. Pro lists T2V but requires_image is still true. No still means a T2V row that does not require one: Kling 3 Turbo if silent, Veo / Flux 3 / LTX Fast / Seedance 1.5 Pro T2V if you want audio.

When do I leave both Hailuo cards?

When the job is not 6s or 10s, not a still-led plate, or not silent. Fifteen seconds, 4K talking, prompt-only T2V, native dialogue: different family. Do not buy Pro as a substitute for those flags.
