Qwen Image 3 is a 4-credit 2K generate. Edit 2511 is a 3-credit instruction on a file you already have. Pick the door, not "the Qwen image model." Qwen Image 3 Text to Image is text-to-image only, 4 credits, 2K max output, no image required. The catalog line: third-generation image model, strong prompt adherence and complex text rendering in Chinese and English, intelligent prompt rewriting on by default. Qwen Image Edit 2511 is edit-image and image-to-image, 3 credits, discounted, requires an image, up to 6 references, no 4K badge on that card. This page is the family split: blank page versus change. Generate and edit are different doors

Features: text_to_image, text_rendering, multilingual, prompt_rewriting. You describe a scene, including strings you want in the pixels. You get a still that is supposed to follow the sentence. Prompt rewriting is on by default — the card says so. That means a sloppy brief may be "improved" into a cousin of what you typed. Quote the strings you would print. If rewriting fights you, shorten the prompt to objects, layout, and quoted type rather than a paragraph of vibe.

Qwen Image Edit 2511. Content type image. Categories: edit-image, image-to-image. 3 credits. Requires an image. Max references: 6. Aspects on the prompting surface: 1:1, 5:4, 4:5, 5:6, 3:2. Match the source. Do not ask an edit row to become a 9:16 poster it was not given. Listed tasks in the description: object removal, style transfer, content transformation. There is no "describe a bottle from scratch" on this slug. Upload the locked still. Write the change.

There is a third Qwen stills editor people grab by accident: Qwen Image Edit, 3 credits, 4K listed, edit-image only, max reference 1, listed strength at changing or correcting text inside an image. 2511 is the dated instruction SKU with six references. The unnamed Edit card is the 4K type-fix cousin. Image 3 is not either of them. Do not collapse "Qwen" into one row.

2K versus unset is not a reason to skip Image 3 for a video model. 2K is the generate ceiling on this card. If the insertion order said 4K stills, this is not the 4K generate. Imagen 4 and GPT Image 2 T2I list 4K. Image 3 lists 2K. Say that out loud before you promise a billboard.

When Image 3 is the row

Pick Image 3 when the source is a sentence.

• You have no file. The brief is a prompt.
• The still must letter Chinese or English in the pixels, and you are generating the layout, not patching one.
• Prompt adherence is the failure mode you fear: wrong object, wrong count, ignored hierarchy.
• You want one still you can reject in 4 credits instead of discovering the type is mush at 28 credits of motion.

Image 3 is a generate. Re-rolling it to fix one cup is how you get a new kitchen. If the first still is 90 percent right, you have left the generate job. You are now in 2511.

Prompt rewriting on by default is a product fact, not a compliment. Write the brief as a spec: subject, set, light, quoted strings, what must not appear. A cinematic paragraph will be rewritten into a prettier cinematic paragraph. That is not always the pack.

When 2511 is the row

Pick 2511 when the source is a file.

• You already approved a still (camera or generate) and one object is wrong.
• You can point: left cup, red cap, the line of type, the reflection.

• You need the face, the crop, and the label to survive the change.

Credits: 4 versus 3 is not a ranking. Image 3 is cheaper than a week of "generate until the cup disappears." 2511 is cheaper than a week of Image 3 cousins. Count the calls. One generate plus two 2511 turns is 4 + 3 + 3 = 10 credits of a locked identity. Five Image 3 rolls is 20 credits of five identities.

Do not mix the prompts

A Qwen week that does not lie to itself:

Monday: Image 3 for the layouts you do not have. Quote every string. Proof the glyphs at 100 percent. Kill the stills you would not print.

Tuesday: 2511 on the keeper if a cup, hem, or background is wrong. One verb. Keep list. Match aspect.

Wednesday: if the deliverable is a still, stop. If frame one must move, I2V on the edited file. Hailuo 2.3 Fast is 6s / 10s at 28 credits. Omni Video is 4–10s at 9 credits. Veo 3.1 is 4 / 6 / 8 seconds, 40 credits, native audio, when the shot is Veo.

Thursday: captions on the clip. Add captions to video. Type that must stay legal belongs in the still or in an overlay, not in a video prompt.

Friday: do not open Image 3 to "tweak" a locked still. That is 2511. Do not open 2511 without a file. That is Image 3.

Article 50 can apply to a realistic still of a real person. Read Article 50. A 2K generate does not exempt it.

The test: do you have a PNG you would print except for one named change? 2511. Do you have a sentence and no file? Image 3. "Qwen it" is how you spend 4 credits on an edit job, or 3 credits on a generate that the card will refuse.

Open the matching slug, then sign up when the job is a 2K generate or a 3-credit instruction, not a family name. Image 3 stays T2I. 2511 stays the change.

Can Edit 2511 replace Image 3 if I describe the whole scene?

No. 2511 requires an image. A scene prompt on an edit row restyles whatever you uploaded. If you needed a first still, Image 3.

Is Image 3 a 4K model?

Not on this card. Max output is 2K. If the order said 4K stills, pick a row that lists 4K, or upscale as a separate job. Do not invent a 4K badge from the Qwen name.
