Replace one slide after the carousel order is the one you will render
replace_slideshow_slide bills a new image; remove and reorder do not refund or generate. Surgery on a board you have not locked, or on a reel you already exported, is the expensive order.
One bad slide should not kill a carousel. replace_slideshow_slide regenerates a single image from a new prompt (charged, refunded on failure). remove_slideshow_slide drops one (no refund). reorder_slideshow_slides needs the full order, not a diff. get_slideshow is how "the fourth one" becomes an image_id. All of that is board surgery. It is not the first step, and it is a terrible last step after you already converted to MP4.
Fix a slide in a slideshow is the job. Cheap fixes: reorder, remove. Think before replace, especially if you were about to replace eight. The slideshow maker is where the set was born.
The board has to exist, and it has to be the board
People replace slide two while slide five is still a random generate they have not looked at. Then they reorder. Then they replace two again because the prompt drifted. Then they stamp overlays. Then they convert. Then they notice slide five. Now the MP4 is wrong and the overlay versions are stale — replace drops any stamped type on that slide.
Lock meaning here: you have seen every tile, you know the count, you know the order you want. Then replace the one that is actually wrong. Do not use replace as a generator. The generator already ran.
add_images_to_slideshow is how you append. Appending into an undecided set is how carousels grow instead of finishing.
If you already ran convert_slideshow_to_video, fix the board and re-render. Do not cut the MP4. The board is the source.
Order
get_slideshow. Look at every id.- Reorder or remove if that is the real fix.
- Replace only the ids that must regenerate.
- Re-stamp overlays if those slides had type.
- Convert to a reel only after that.
The photo editor is a cousin for stills outside a slideshow. Inside one, use these ids.
FAQ
Why didn't remove refund me?
Because the image was already made. Removal is cleanup, not a store credit. Do not generate extras "just in case."
I omitted the slides that didn't move from reorder. Now the set looks insane.
The tool wants the full ordering. Send every id. Practice that on a board you have already chosen, not in the middle of tasting.
Should I overlay text before replacing a slide?
No. Replace kills the stamped version of that slide. Fix pictures, then stamp copy.
Can I fix a slide as my first action on a new idea?
You do not have a slide yet. Generate the set. Look. Then fix. Surgery is not ideation.
