    Creativity Program AI-label rule

Labelled AI is eligible at the same Creativity Program rate. The penalty is unoriginal, templated work — not the badge, and not AI as such.

TikTok's Creativity Program pays labelled AI content at the same rate as other eligible original video. The built-in AI label is required for that eligibility. The penalty that actually moves money is unoriginal, templated content — not the badge. This page is the program rule. Does my TikTok need an AI label? is the per-clip checker. TikTok Creativity Program pays past 60 seconds is the runtime clock. Keep them in that order.

This page draws on SocialScale Hub's 2026 academy recap of TikTok / Instagram / YouTube disclosure, Vexub's 2026 monetization-policy recap, and Fliki's 25 August 2026 note. Together they say: TikTok AI content is eligible for the Creativity Program if the built-in AI label is used; undisclosed AI can mean removal or program suspension; labelled AI pays the same rate. The label is not a ranking penalty on any platform; unoriginal, templated content is. The US Creator Rewards Program terms (last updated 20 July 2026) are the binding program text for eligibility bars and originality. Creators still search "Creativity Program"; the live US document is Creator Rewards.

    The rule in one sentence

Label the AI. Keep the clip original. Collect the same rate the program already pays for eligible views.

Unpack only the words that people get wrong.

"Label the AI" means TikTok's built-in control in the posting flow, not a caption performance. SocialScale Hub (2026) restates TikTok's long-standing requirement to label realistic AIGC, and notes that TikTok also reads C2PA Content Credentials and can auto-apply a label. Auto-apply is a backstop. The program rule is: use the built-in label. A hashtag is not the control. A burned-in Article 50 line is not the control either, though you may still need that line for an EU audience.

"Keep the clip original" is the program's own gate, independent of the model that rendered frames. The US terms and Creator Academy both tell you to post original content authentic to you. Duets and stitches of other people's work are the originality fail. Recycled slideshows, watermarked reposts, and templated AI with nothing of yours in it are how accounts leave the program after they get in. AI video is not named as a disqualifier in those US terms. Unoriginal video is.

"Same rate" is the money sentence. There is no published Creativity Program haircut for labelled AI. Vexub (2026) states TikTok pays AI content at the same rate as traditional content when the official label and the originality conditions are met. Fliki (25 August 2026) is less specific on TikTok RPM and still does not publish a discounted AI tier. Do not plan a P&L on a screenshot of someone else's month. Do plan as if the badge does not change the unit rate.

The AI content label is the toggle this rule points at. The Article 50 duty is a different instrument. Satisfying the program does not satisfy the Act. Satisfying the Act does not flip TikTok's control.

Pay rate does not move with the badge

The folk theory is that the badge suppresses distribution, so serious program accounts skip it. The published record goes the other way.

SocialScale Hub (2026): an honest label is not a published ranking penalty on TikTok. TikTok has said adding the label does not affect how the video is distributed. What can move the audience is Manage Topics, which lets viewers ask to see less AIGC. That is an audience filter, not a program rate card. The same recaps say it of YouTube and Meta: the label is not a ranking penalty; unoriginal, templated content is.

    So the program-side economics are:

    • Labelled eligible AI, original, one minute or longer, For You qualified views: in the pool, same rate the program pays that month.
    • Unlabelled AI: not a clever CPM trick. Removal or program suspension is the stated consequence. Vexub (2026) adds that videos which trigger detection without proper labelling can receive zero Creator Fund / program earnings for a window even after a retroactive label. Treat that as Vexub's recap of enforcement texture, not as a published number. The stated consequence is already enough to retire the "skip the badge" plan.
    • Labelled templated churn: the badge will not save it. Originality review is the remaining knife.

There is no third rate for "AI but we were subtle." Subtle is how undisclosed realistic AIGC gets removed.

The 60-second floor still applies. The program pays qualified views on original videos that run one minute or longer. A labelled 45-second generate is labelled and still invisible to this pool. Do not stretch a 40-second idea with a second hook and a recycled end card to "also" qualify. That stretch is how templated work starts to look templated.

Eligibility bars remain what they were: a Personal account in good standing, age of majority, residence in a country where the program is offered, at least 10,000 authentic followers, at least 100,000 authentic total video views in the last 30 days, at the time you apply or are invited. Creator Academy currently lists the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico, and Brazil. Those bars are not AI bars. A labelled AI channel that cannot hold 100,000 authentic views / 30 days leaves the same way a camera channel does.

Unoriginal and templated is the actual penalty

Read the program next to the cross-platform picture. YouTube's inauthentic-content policy bans mass-produced, repetitive, templated uploads, not AI as such; AI content stays monetizable when it carries the creator's own vision. Meta's originality rules sit on the same side of the table. TikTok's Creativity Program is the same idea pointed at a revenue-share pool: original, authentic to you, not a cloned slideshow.

What "your vision" looks like in a generate is not a mystery. You wrote the structure. You picked the claim. You edited. You did not press one prompt and schedule the raw file 40 times. A labelled explainer you structured, voiced, and cut can be original in the program's sense. A face-swap of someone else's viral hook with a new caption is the pattern every neighbouring policy is already catching.

The US terms do not publish a numeric "originality score." They publish a review. Periodic review against the same bars that got you in is how a slow month or a recycled week takes you back out. Clearing 10,000 followers once is not a permanent key.

Shop and ads remain different cheques. Shop pays an attributed sale. A brand pays for a file. The Creativity Program pays qualified views on original 60s-plus video. Labelling AI on a Shop clip is still a Community Guidelines / AIGC question. It is not this program's rate card. Do not ask one 20-second comparison to satisfy Rewards. Do not ask a Rewards original to carry a Shop CTA that fights the minute hold.

If the picture is photoreal and synthetic, you may also owe a perceivable Article 50 mark at first exposure for EU viewers. That overlay does not replace this rule. Does this cut need an Article 50 label? is the legal walk. This page does not re-run it.

How the label sits next to the 60-second clock

    Operate one calendar.

Rewards week. One original piece at 60–90 seconds, built to hold. Apply the built-in AI label if the picture or the voice is AI. Do not expect a different RPM. Do expect the 100,000 views / 30 days window to keep rolling, labelled or not.

Camera week. If the file is a camera original and the only model in the timeline wrote a caption, do not false-label it. The program is not asking for a generic "tools were used" sticker. False labels train viewers to ignore real ones, and they are not how you "look compliant."

Hybrid week. Real hands, generated background, generated voice: label. The program would rather see the control on than reconstruct your timeline after a report.

C2PA on the export can auto-label on upload. Keep it if the generator writes it. Still flip the toggle. Manifests die on re-encode. The UGC video generator will give you the file; TikTok's posting flow is still where this rule lives. If you also need an on-file line for Article 50, burn it in before export. If you need a studio seat for that overlay step, sign up.

Do not treat a program suspension as an Article 50 fine. Do not treat a labelled RPM screenshot as a rate card TikTok published. The rule is smaller than both of those rumours: label AI, stay original, same rate.

    FAQ

Is labelled AI paid less in the Creativity Program?

Not in the sources this page uses. Vexub's 2026 recap says the same rate when the official label is used. There is no published AI discount in the US Creator Rewards terms (20 July 2026). Unoriginal work is what reviews catch.

Can I join the program with an AI-only channel?

The published bars are account type, age, residence, authentic followers, authentic views, and original content. They are not "must show your face" bars. An AI-only channel that is unoriginal, templated, or undisclosed is the failure mode. An AI-only channel that is labelled, original, and over a minute can be eligible on the same terms as a camera channel. Stay in by holding the rolling 100,000 views / 30 days, not by skipping the badge.

Does a hashtag count as the built-in label?

No. The rule is TikTok's own control in the posting flow. A caption, a hashtag, or an EU overlay can be extra. They are not the control the program is written around. Auto-label from C2PA can apply TikTok's badge for you; you still should not plan on the manifest surviving every re-encode.
