This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your upload. There is no upload. The file you choose is read into memory by your own browser, processed there, and handed back as a download — the tool has no server component and makes no network request with your data.
- Nothing is stored. We never receive the file, so there is no copy to retain, no retention period to disclose, and nothing to delete on request.
- Nothing is transmitted. No upload endpoint, no analytics payload carrying file contents, no third-party processor.
- You can verify it. Load this page, disconnect from the internet, and use the tool. It still works, because everything it needs is already on your machine.
- Nothing persists after you close the tab. Files are held in page memory only — not in local storage, not in a cache, not in a database.
A note on wording, because it matters: we do not describe these tools as “encrypted.” Encryption protects data that travels to somebody else's computer. Your file does not travel, so there is nothing to encrypt and nothing to intercept — which is a stronger guarantee than encryption, not a weaker one. The page itself is served over HTTPS like the rest of the site.
This makes the tools safe for material you are contractually barred from uploading to third-party services — client footage under NDA, unreleased campaign assets, anything covered by a confidentiality clause.
How it works
1. Type or paste your text
Letters A to Z and digits 0 to 9 get styled. Accented letters keep their accent; emoji, punctuation and other scripts stay as they are.
2. Pick a style
Every style updates live. Each card says how many characters had no styled version and whether Unicode maps the style back to plain letters.
3. Preview the profile
Tap preview on a card to see it in an Instagram bio, TikTok bio or X name mock-up with a character count against the published limit.
4. Copy and paste
Copy puts the styled text on your clipboard. Nothing is sent anywhere; the conversion is a lookup table in this page.
Questions
Are these real fonts?
No. A font changes how the same letters are drawn. This tool swaps each letter for a different Unicode character that looks styled, such as U+1D400 MATHEMATICAL BOLD CAPITAL A instead of A. That is why the text keeps its look when you paste it into an app that has no font menu, and also why it behaves differently from normal text.
Can screen readers read Unicode fancy text?
Often badly. Most of these characters come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, and screen readers may spell them out one by one or announce each as a maths symbol, so a styled word can take many seconds to hear. Some readers skip them. Keep your name, niche and anything important in plain text and use a style for one or two words at most.
Will Instagram, TikTok or X search find styled words?
Do not count on it. Unicode's compatibility normalisation (NFKC) maps most maths styles, circled, squared and fullwidth letters back to plain letters, and each card shows whether that mapping exists. Small caps, filled circles and squares, and upside-down text have no such mapping. None of the three platforms publishes whether its search applies NFKC, so keep search words plain.
Why do a few script and gothic letters look different?
Some letters were added to Unicode's Letterlike Symbols block long before the maths alphabets. The maths block leaves those slots empty, so script B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R, e, g and o, gothic C, H, I, R and Z, outline C, H, N, P, Q, R and Z, and italic h use the older characters. The tool maps them correctly so you never get an empty box, but their shapes can differ slightly from their neighbours.
Why do I see boxes or plain letters?
A box means the phone or app has no font containing that character. Small capital q was only added in Unicode 11, so older devices may show a box. Plain letters mean the style has no version of that character: there are no italic or script digits and no small capital x, so those are kept as they are and counted on the card.
Do styled characters count against bio limits?
Yes. Instagram allows 150 characters in a bio and X allows 50 in a display name, according to their help centres. TikTok does not publish a bio limit, so check the counter in your app. None of them say how styled symbols are counted. Maths letters take two storage units each, so the preview shows that number too in case an app counts that way.
